This is the first review I've ever written. This was a horrible experience. The women made me soak my hands in acetone to get off my previous polish. Instead of using cotton/foil. My hands were white because they became so dry after. When I arrived I mentioned that I had jammed one of my fingers and it was sensitive. I had to remind her 4+ times because she kept being aggressive with my nails. The service took 1.5 hours for a dip manicure. I walked into Happy Nails and was seen right away. I got a manicure and pedicure and was very pleased with the result. The space was clean and the employees friendly. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. The prices were what I would expect for a nail salon. I added in more massage time which was definitely worth it. I am still trying to get my brain around the fact that I got ripped off by this place. I went there with my daughter b/c I want to do manicures where the tools are clean. The usual place I go to at Bella Terra sold to another company so I came here to Happy Nails. I should have known. No prices listed. When my kiddo and I said "just two mani - pedi's" w/ gel" that I should have gotten a quote on that cost. Then we took our seats in the then completely empty salon where we were still being kind of rushed through picking our colors and rushed into sitting down and getting started. I should have asked what the prices were for what should have been a reasonable cost for a very, very average, so-so job. (Look at my photos) They didn't remove the ugly bits around my cuticle, they didn't do anything especially wonderful at all. Just same old, same old. And then after declining any add on services, we got the following bill. CHECK OUT THE PRICES FOR JUST HAVING GEL POLISH. Check out how BAD my nails look. And if you really, really hate yourself and want to throw money in the trash, then go here. If you do care about your money and nails, then avoid this place. I came here for a mani/pedi and selected the deluxe spa package for $80 from the extensive menu right inside the door. There were a few customers, but it was not super busy, as it was a Thursday morning. It felt peaceful, clean and bright inside. I did not have an appointment, but was welcomed warmly and immediately escorted to a chair. Everyone was so friendly! The Deluxe included sugar scrub with hot rocks, paraffin, and the deepest shoulder massage I've ever gotten (think deep tissue here, which I needed - I'm still feeling it the next day!) I brought my own polish, but noticed that they have a large and nicely organized selection on the wall. The spa is clean and bright inside and I was offered a drink menu right when I sat down - I opted for a cold water, but there were several other choices. I did not want gel - the pics are of regular Essie Carols and Caviar polish with top coat, and I asked for short nails - I am a teacher and do not have the wherewithal to deal with long nails and tiny humans. Lol. I had Holly doing my pedi and Rose doing my mani and I'm not disappointed at all. They are very sweet, as is An, the owner, and everyone was super attentive the whole time. They made sure to get my number so that they can recognize when I call in the future, which felt special. Rose even offered to come in on her days off if I call her in advance! I had a wonderful experience at happy nails. I was a walk in and they accommodated me right away. I received a gel manicure and gel pedicure. The ladies who did my nails were amazing. They were very kind and also had a lovely attention to detail. Typically after getting a gel manicure I have to do some touch ups after but not here. They were very detail oriented. Well. You'd like to think that because it's happy nails they must do a+ work. I believe this could have been an instance of hit and miss and I was given a bad nail tech this time around. I went in for a gel pedi and a dip powder mani. The woman took 1 HOUR to remove the gel off my toes?? The manicurist worked fairly quickly during my dip powder removal from my previous mani. Long story short, I sat there while my nail tech tried to figure out how to do a dip manicure. She continuously put my hand inside the gel finisher, did not buff out any lines & bumps. I walked out with polish all over my cuticles and sides of my fingers and it was the same for my pedicure. I paid $90 all together and will not be returning. HB gals, do yourself a favor. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Literally felt like Kathy physically abused my nails! I have never felt so much pain in my nails that makes me want to take pain killers. She literally cut me with scissors while trying to shape my nails, glued a nail wrong and tried to rip it off with her hands before using common sense and using a nail remover. My nail was over sensitive and red while she continued to do this. I had to basically say "ouch" for her to stop. Clearly applied too much glue or acrylic so when she was trying to separate my skin from the nail she had to dig her nails in my skin. I kept pulling away telling her it hurt and she would still continue. While filing my nails I let her know ahead of time that I can't move my hand in certain positions due to my carpel tunnel and all she would say is "relax" and would still put my hands in painful positions. The pedicure went okay but my dip manicure started chipping on two nails less than 24 hours after getting it done. I went a couple days later to have them fix the two nails that chipped and they dip double the amount of layers of dip. I told the technician that the original woman who did my nails only did two layers even though the woman correcting it was doing 3-4 layers. I was told that I need to ask them to do more than two layers. She also said 2 layers would most likely keep chipping. IS IT MY JOB TO TELL  YOU TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT?? For a $45 manicure you need to know how to do your job right to begin with. Now the 8 nails that were not corrected are beginning to chip and its only been a few days since originally getting them done. I came in with the girlfriend to get our nails and feet done. There was a 5 minute wait. I decided to get gel polished nails and a pedicure. I am Vietnamese like the girls working and I can understand what they are saying. The girls working on me thought I was Filipino for some reason. They did not say anything in particular about me, but they did about my girlfriend (she is white). Since she came in with 3D nail art, the girl working on her had a bad attitude about taking them off. She was complaining that it would take all day in Vietnamese. Then my girlfriend had a hard time choosing a color, and the same girl working on her complained about how my girlfriend was making her do too much. The only thing they said about me was when the girl was painting on the polish on my toes, the girl working on my hands ran to grab another polish that may have been better match. The girl doing my feet got mad at her because that meant she would have to take it off and redo it. Yea, a lotta complaining. My girlfriend and I paid separately. For my gel polish and pedicure (photo included), my total was $60 with tip. That is standard price I believe for gel polish and toes. That meant my nails were $30 and my toes were $20. Although their skills were good, and their price is average, I would not come back just because of their attitudes. The girl doing my nails also kept leaving to read the newspaper. I first came to this salon because of the connivence. I live really close by and I only wanted simple gel manicure. I came in and was seated quickly as it was somewhat empty. A guy named Michael introduced himself and started doing my nails. He was great, made an effort to make sure he painted my nails nicely. At one point he had saw a speck of dust in my nail and repainted it which I appreciated. Overall I think $20 for the gel manicure is a great price for what you get. It would have been a five star but a decent amount of the staff just sit around talking on their cellphones very loudly which kind of ruined the experience for me, especially because I understood what they were saying it was a bit awkward. I don't have a ton of experience with Pedicures but this was okay. I got their least expensive pedicure package ($25). They cleaned up my cuticles, and washed and exfoliated my feet. The woman doing it did a great job and my feet feel great now. They have a huge selection of nail colors too. Pricing was reasonable for the service and the location itself is clean, pleasent and nice smelling. However, the woman did only put one coat of paint on my toes, which I hear is not standard. She also didn't let me wait long enough in the salon to let them dry, even though they were not busy. I stubbed my toe lightly after the service and most of the paint came off my big toe. I feel like my girlfriend could have done a better job and I would have saved the money. read more

I'm pregnant so i took a break from nails to save $$ then came here to treat myself with a "long massage" gel pedicure and dip manicure. Spent $120 to receive the worst of both. Two different women working on my feet because one clearly couldn't see, resulting in all different lengths and polish job on my right and left toes. I'm standing at work all day so I told her "I'll pay whatever to have a longer leg and foot massage" She rubbed lotion on. Literally no different than what I could have done at home. My husband gives a better foot massage. I told her it wasn't really feeling great, she smiled. Minimum English. Dip mani was done incorrectly so the bottom of each nail was almost ombre, in the sun they were all different darkness of the same color if that makes sense. Not enough coats maybe?! Mike is absolutely AMAZING and his acrylic sets are beautiful and so well done that even by my next fill they are still perfect. I wish I could leave 0 stars.... This place is that bad!!! I came in with my friend to get my nails done for my birthday and all I wanted was a mani pedi with gel and wanted French tip on both. Easy to do and simple. NOT AT ALL!!! Not only did they screw it up but they over charged us by sooo much!!! We were sitting in the chair when they offered to do the spa treatment and I declined and they said no it's for free for your birthday!! I still declined as I know the catch, and as I went to go on my phone she slapped scrub and lotion on my legs and went at it. Not only did I make it clear I did not want this, but it hurt like hell!!! When it went to payment my friend was paying for me as well as a birthday treat and they charged us for the highest spa service they had and over charged us over $200. For two mani pedis !!!!!!! I don't like (or care to learn how) to pluck my eyebrows and unfortunately, I don't like to go these spa/nail/beauty salons. I dislike the smell and pretending that the conversations these petite Vietnamese women are having in their native language are not about me...and my toenails...fingernails... I've been to this place twice; once with a couple of friends and once by myself. I went here because a friend recommended it and since it was across the street from my job at the time it was only a walk away. The first visit was good, they were busy but fast enough and the woman helping us did my brows and my friends brows in about half an hour. She used a cream wax that was geared more toward sensitive skin (which I was unaware that I had until going to a nail salon near my apartment and after every visit the recently waxed area would always break out, this is why I was looking for new place to go to begin with). My eyebrows on this first visit turn out to be a little more rectangular in shape than I prefer but it was fine. My second visit was not so easy-going. The place was busy (as usual, because I had shown up on a number of occasions before and they were always too busy to wait), but they had time to take me and I was directed toward the back. I laid on the table and tried to relax (i hate the feeling of waxing). She may have asked me if I wanted the cream wax or regular wax but I couldn't understand her with her back turned toward me. So I let it go, but perhaps I shouldn't have because the wax was too hot and it wasn't the cream wax. Oh well. She took longer than usual because I had neglected my brows for an unusually long time so they were quite in need of some attention. So, with all the time on our hands she took the opportunity to tell me that I had a lot of black hairs on my lips and it was "only seven dollars, honey". I frowned a little and declined. She asked me if I use blackhead strips, frowning more I said no. "Oh, you need to," she said and continued to work my brows. But at that point I really wanted to get up and leave regardless of how they looked. I may not be the best looking girl around but I generally go into a salon to make me feel a little better but instead, with all this constructive criticism I left feeling worse. And I didn't look much better since the wax she used gave me a reaction and the areas where the hair was removed was red for about a day and a half. Not to mention that the area was actually tender and I could not touch it without feeling a unexpected kind of soreness. I know that it's a livelihood and I understand that if women weren't insecure and wanted to look different or "better" they'd be out of business, but that doesn't mean I want to hear about my physical foibles in an insincere manner for a few more bucks. Three stars for a good first visit, but a not-so-good second visit. Incidentally, I'm not going back; I can make myself feel bad about me all by myself. Next I'm going to try Ziba (on Bristol and Sunflower), they do eyebrow threading (no wax involved, though I can't imagine how they use thread) and maybe are more mindful of their customers low self esteem. read more

After reading the negative reviews, I was afraid to try this salon...but I had a gift card so I walked in and they took me immediately. I got the regular pedicure. I liked this place. Susan did a great job on my pedicure. The people were all nice, and although they do show you additional options you can purchase (I mean, isn't that their job?) they were not at all pushy about it. The chairs are relaxing (they have massage chairs) and I was given a pillow with a warm towel to put on my lap just for comfort. I just sat back and closed my eyes and relaxed... Only once did she ask to wax my eye brows in one of the pedi chairs. She also does a great job with bikini waxing. (I'd highly recommend you get her # and book through her, NOT the salon, as I have been double booked by the girl at the front). She is the ONLY reason I would set foot in this place, because I have not had great service here. They DO try to sell you up as soon as you sit down, and rush you out when you're done. I've been here a few times. Today was the best and worst of the three experiences. I had Holly on the Peds and Nina on the Mani. Worst part: I walked in and for the first time had to sign in. I was running a little short on time and asked how long it was going to be. I was told as soon as the next person is available. Well, I know that. I figured I'd be a wee bit more specific, am I next or is there a list? as i'm trying to eyeball some women's feet sitting off to the side. I got a mumbled yes but still a yes you are next. Cool. I can chill. 15 mins later, 3 people before me, yep 3. The 2 that were sitting and the side and a women that walked in and specifically asked for someone by name. Why didn't I think of that?! I'm a loser. A loser that's waiting. So what's brilliant of the receptionist, and I mean it, Trump would be impressed, she gets me over to a chair, gets me soaking so I'm stuck until 10 mins later Holly can get to me. Half way through it dawned on me what had just happened because it was that half way point when I wondered if I should just leave. So smart. So the best part: I actually got a decent mani and pedi. It's not great but it is ok. My big toes nail is cut crooked but hey maybe my big toe just goes like that.
