Truly one of the worst experiences I've ever had, I came in once before and loved the gel manicure, so I decided to go back. First off I had 4 different people working on me swapping back and forth, I got a gel pedicure and gel manicure. The woman kept placing the LED Light on top of my wet toes and would get upset that I was correcting her. My toes looked lumpy and when I pointed them out at the end they seemed upset. They did not scrub my feet or clean under the nails even after asking. As for the gel manicure, there were air bubbles and when I pointed them out they did not see them even after I had them feel where the bubbles were. There's holes in the polish. I came to relax and enjoy my time but I couldn't help but leave in tears. The whole experience took 2 1/2 hours also because they were more worried about other customers than myself. After trying to get a pedicure service on a more busy holiday, I appreciated the fact that this location was able to get me in within about 30 minutes. I opted for the pamper me pedicure. This included the typical pedicure services plus a quick scrub and 10 minute massage. I feel like the nail tech did a great job and it was an overall relaxing experience. Overall, this isn't the fanciest or boujiest nail salon I've been to, but it was clean, reasonable prices, and I appreciated the quick service. They do take credit cards, but just an fyi, the techs do appreciate a cash tip, if you have it on you. read more

I had my nails done today with the male manicurist. He had his earbuds and phone on the whole time, watching a video/movie/tv show. The WHOLE TIME. 1st of all, that was just rude and not professional, using your phone while working, especially in a personal service setting. 2nd, you deal with sharp tools. Nails don't look great and have nail polish on my cuticles. Chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Massage was horrible--she basically just kept rubbing her hands on my legs back and forth. I didn't tip well and you can tell they looked mad because of the lack of tip. I just don't appreciate a bad service, zero English comprehension, and then the expectation of a tip. Melissa (I think) rushed so fast despite there not being any customers waiting and it being early in the day, cut all my nails unevenly, even shaped them differently, cut several cuticles too short (super painful!), and left the nails jagged from shaping. She said the paint may last only an hour or two before it chips so don't complain if it breaks. I was so uncomfortable! The woman who did my pedicure was nice and it was "okay" work but with the manicure experience, I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. My feet are so baby soft because she put in WORK! I wish I found this spot earlier because they do a good job for a really affordable price. (I got a pedicure with callus removal for $38, most places range around $45-50). I can see that this place can get busy, and they run like a standard nail salon (which is typically first come first serve). So keep that in mind if you're looking for a place that "honors appointments" or if you're expecting a spot with American-based mannerism ;) read more

I am so incredibly upset by my experience & outcome. $90 for a dip & gel pedí. I kid you not, my feet were not soaked or scrubbed. Lady jumped straight to cutting my cuticles and shaping, followed by a 5 min massage than a change of ladies to paint my toes. I was so taken back but equally distracted by my terrible dip set being done I was unable to ask for what I was actually paying for. At the end when paying I didn't know what to say about both terrible jobs I was only able to say " so you're telling me $40 for a pedi in which my feet were not scrubbed" she rushed me over for less than a min scrub with a side of passive aggression. I was left speechless. Wtf. **UPDATE- Why i went from 1 star to 3, after posting the review I called the nail salon to bring attention to my experience. The lady I spoke with was so kind, was asking all the right questions, and was patiently listening as i expressed my disappointment. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down. I came for a mani/pedi. First of all when I got there the lady was not listening to me when I repeatedly told her the water was hot and burning my feet. The towel they had under my ankles was filthy. It had nail shavings in it and I asked her to change it bc it was obviously used on the person she had prior. She shook the towel and white shavings went everywhere. She didn't even change the towel. The lady doing my manicure asked if I wanted oval or square. I said oval and she started doing square and kept filing my skin. I told her she's filing my skin and not nail, she just laughed. She was not listening to me. I then said my nails aren't even and I showed my sister and my sister agreed. I told another worker they were uneven and she laughed to. I could not believe this. The tools they used were dirty, the nail file was old and used. There was nail still in their clippers. DISGUSTING!! I told them to stop and this place was dirty and they don't know what they are doing. They kept laughing so I stormed out. I called and told them how awful I was treated and that they shouldn't use dirty tools. I'm reporting this to the better business bureau. My nails look gross bc she kept filing the skin so now the skin is exposed. I don't know how it's even open, I feel dirty for the short amount of time I was there. This place is a great place for a manicure but not so much for a pedicure. I was a walk-in and wanted a gel mani and pedi. The woman who did my nails was very good and attended my natural nails great. But the women who did my toes took an exceptionally long time removing the gel polish off my skin. Her method seemed to be messily apply the gel polish and then remove the excess polish around my toe nails. In the end, my toes still have gel polish residue on my toes because she didn't do the best at removing the polish. I wanted the mani and pedi package (plus extra for the gel) but they said I had to buy mani and pedi separately??? Also the 5min massage in the package was only 2 min, and it only applied to one hand and was not included for the feet. read more

Ive been coming to Happy Nails on Alton Square for over 4 years now, and I highly recommend this location. I usually get gel manicure, and regular pedicure with hot paraffin to moisturize the skin. Tina does a great manicure with a beautiful nail shape even if when my nails are short. Young did my pedicure today and I'm happy how it turned out. Tina does a great job on my gel nails and I get the American manicure which I love! Lee repaired my big toe toenail as it was deformed he and made it look great! Instead of fixing the bad French manicure paint job he files my nail down and says it's because of the way my nail grows. Prices keep going up each time I come... I'm sure I can pay the same and leave happy at the dozens of other nail salons in Irvine.
