This bakery is a real gem. The prices are unbeatable, the service is quick, and the pastries are unmatched in freshness and tastiness. Waaaaaaay better than some of the big name bakeries I've been to in the area.

Staffs were friendly, this is like a whole in the wall, all the foods are made ready to eat. There's tiny place where you can stand and eat for 2 people but, it is very small and tight place. Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambience: 3/5

This place is super affordable and always gets the job done. It's seperate by two sides- one for bakery goodies and drinks and another for cheurng fun (rice rolls) and warm food. You can add extra toppings like egg and scallion to your cheurng fun and add sauce afterwards. This is a great spot for cheap local eats!

I brought a sugar cane drink $3.50. Very refreshing and not too sweet. Service was fast no frills. Only one person working there. It's very old school and a bit run down but they have a wide variety of bake goods and dim sum at a low cost.

An inexpensive hole-in-the wall Chinese bakery. Don't know what they actually make here, but found it's a great place to grab some savory bites or snacks when I'm in the neighborhood. Love their roast pork buns!

We used to love this place cuz it's fast, cheap and convenient. But this really traumatized me when I ordered their breakfast combo and ate the whole sandwich only to find that the bread was moldy. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Will never come back and suggest everyone to check their food if you eat there

Who doesn't love a hole-in-the-wall bakery that sells a variety of good eats? Yo, they make FRESH churn fun! For a fraction of the price that crappy Joe place in Canal St. Market. *sideeye* included. We've been here quite a few times while visiting family in Chinatown and the bakery offers up pretty good baos and lai-cha (bakery on the right) and we always end up grabbing quite a few hot food items (hot food on the left). My kids love their version of the ham & egg bao; with fluffy eggs & a slice of ham stuffed & baked inside the bao. Right next door - the fried "gaow-ji" is pre-cooked and then the lovely ladies fried them up! It's deliciously stuffed with pork & veggies! The steamed pearl chicken - aka - glutinous rice stuffed with minced pork; is one of my kids' favorite. Total cost usually lands me about $13 for all the goods! (2 fried dumplings, 2 fresh shrimp churn fun, 3 Jun Ji Cai). It's a small cozy shop, grab & go! The hot food has a few stools for anyone looking for some alone time. A dang good alternative to those pricey dim sum places. #happyfeasting

I have been going to this bakery for about two years. They have inexpensive breakfast items and they taste decent. Since it's just around the corner, it's a great grab and go place especially for my kids to have something before they go to school. A complaint I have been holding back until now to write about is their lack of good customer service. They yell at you when they ask for you order. Today I had the worst experience, I asked if they more items in the back. One lady angrily yelled how many as if I was bothering her when I asked if there were more buns in the back. When she came out with the wrong bun, she again yelled at me for not saying it clearly and it was my fault that she pulled the wrong bun out. Regardless of who was wrong, where is the good customer service? Maybe I'll get more respect if I order like how they treat their customers. Updated: as I was eating my bun, I found a strip of foil in the bun.

Good Chinese bakery for a quick grab and go for breakfast as you catch the train or bus or a quick snack as you go. Place is small and split to 2 shops. Been mainly to the right side to pick up buns. Located outside of Chinatown but does get crowded as folks go to work or taking kids to school. Prices are decent $1-$2 for buns. They also have coffee/tea, other cold drinks, and cakes as well.. a variety of breakfast buns to choose from. Ham & egg, swiss, roast pork buns, coconut filled buns are good... After 7pm, there is usually a line out the door as they give a discount on the buns as they make it fresh daily. Note: This place is Cash only.

I have been having mixed feelings about this place recently. I have been going to this place for years and it has alway been my go to place for Asian bakeries especially birthday cakes. But lately some of the items have not been good. The egg tart and sesame balls are still delicious and I have no complaints. They are just the way I like them. The single cake slices and chicken sandwich I had was not good at all. The cake was dry and the fruit in the center of the cake between the layers was not fresh at all. The chicken sandwich tasted old like the chicken was bad so I just ate the bun with the mayo. I have gotten it here many times over the last few years but the last two times has been disappointing. Hope they fix this problem because I am only going to give it one more try.

Great place to get affordable Chinese pastries. I usually get the sesame ball. If you are looking for great fresh pasties, this is the spot. Be sure to get there early for the best selection.

There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

We tried the spicy shrimp (coconut based broth), spicy tonkatsu, and salmon miso ramen. The tonkatsu and salmon were both cooked well - tender and moist. They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. Ichiran Ramen is a famous Japanese ramen chain known for its tonkotsu ramen and unique solo dining…read moresetup. We walked into the Times Square location, which brings the same experience found in Japan, with individual booths, customizable orders, and a streamlined ordering system. The restaurant is designed around efficiency and focus, where the setup lets you enjoy your ramen without distractions. The interior is clean and functional, with the signature booth layout that creates a sense of privacy and concentration on the meal. The main appeal is the consistency of the ramen and the experience itself. We ordered a few bowls and found the tonkotsu broth had the rich, creamy flavor that Ichiran is known for, with a depth that came through clearly in each spoonful. The thin noodles had a good texture that paired well with the soup, and the ability to customize things like noodle firmness, spice level, and toppings made it easy to adjust the bowl to our preference. The chashu was tender and well seasoned, and the egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency that added richness to the bowl. The matcha pudding is also a nice addition if you want something sweet after the meal, with a smooth, creamy texture and a balanced matcha flavor that served as a light finish. The individual booths are what make Ichiran stand out compared to most ramen shops. It creates a very different dining experience where the focus is entirely on the food, and we found it worked especially well for a focused meal where you can truly appreciate each component of the bowl. Groups can still sit together by adjusting the dividers, though the solo dining setup is clearly the defining feature of the experience. The ordering process is simple, with kiosks making it easy to customize your meal before being seated, and the staff guide you through the process without any friction. The biggest downside is the price. While the ramen is good and the experience is unique, the cost is noticeably higher than many other ramen options in New York. The portion sizes and overall meal do not always justify the premium, especially if you are comparing it to other high-quality ramen shops in the city. The quality is consistent, but the value feels less competitive given the price point. Ichiran is worth visiting if you specifically want to try the famous Japanese chain and experience the individual booth concept. The ramen is consistent and the atmosphere is memorable, but the higher price makes it more of a one-time experience rather than an everyday ramen spot. It offers a distinct, focused way to enjoy a bowl of ramen, and for those curious about the brand, it delivers exactly what it promises.

My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there.
