We went to dine in and had a strange experience. We asked for a table and were told we could eat in but we're asked to order at the register. The food was good but came to our table in to-go boxes with plastic forks. We asked for plates and were provided with disposable plates. The sodas came in the bottle. Went in with average expectations given some of the recent reviews, but I found none of the criticism to be true on my visit. Especially some of the comments about the lady being rude. Maybe I had a different cashier, but the one I had was very nice and accommodating both on the phone and in person. The noodles were fantastic and the sesame chicken was tender and well cooked. I didn't try the shrimp but my wife said it was good. Soups were good, rolls and wontons were good and not at all soggy. Overall we were very happy with the meal. Honestly I would give 5 stars if not for the dining experience. The dining room is open, but it is not sit down and order. Basically you place your order as a takeout and can eat at a table. They did have some disposable utensils and plates, but we were only given two sets for a family of four. They were kind though and gave us more and a couple waters. I shouldn't even dock a whole star for that, because I guess it is what it is, but we don't go to restaurants a lot anymore, so it is nice to have the experience when we do. Solid four star. We always get take out from here. I've had general tso, kung pao chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. I recommend the pso and kung pai a lot. The noodle soups are soggy and bland so don't get it! Dumplings are okay, but I recommend rice dishes more. read more

TLDR: Food is great. Service is awful. We are new to the area but we're excited to try out a new place. After living in the LA area, we are pretty spoiled for Chinese food. When we walked in, it was pretty quiet but we were greeted and seated right away. We ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Egg Drop Soup, Fried Potstickers, Kung Pao Chicken and Beef with Snow Peas. Our soup arrived quickly. My Hot and Sour had a great heat and lots of tofu and mushrooms. Hubby's Egg Drop was good but a little bland. The potstickers never did arrive. It was a long wait for the other dishes to arrive. Then we had to wait for rice and then for plates The chicken was so tender and just awesome. Good flavor, good heat. The beef was super tender and flavorful. We then had to ask for the check and wait again for change. So my recommendation is to stick to takeout but check your order before leaving. read more

Pleasantly surprised how good their food was! Coming back from Benson, as soon as I arrived back to Tucson, I pulled over and searched for a quick dinner nearby. When I arrived here at 8pm, one hour before close time, she happily welcomed me to dine in. I was willing to take to go if I was coming here late for them. I started my dinner with seafood soup. Very good flavor, ending up finishing a large bowl of soup. Mapo tofu had a very good flavor as well. I throughly enjoyed my dinner and got to talk to the owner. They are first generation immigrant, southern China to be exact (I was trying to guess and I was right). While they do serve American Chinese dishes, food I ordered tasted so authentic. Last night we ordered take out for the first time during Covid and were happy to see the care the restaurant took with safety precautions. We called in our online order, with special instructions for steaming my tofu dish, instead of frying. My order was followed and ready on time. Their soups, wonton and hot and sour are always fresh and delicious. My Family Tofu had plenty of fresh vegetables and my husband's Twice Cooked pork was also nicely prepared. The four star rating isn't earned here. I ordered two appetizers and three mains. The egg rolls were not good, tons of wrapper almost no filling and they were quite dry on the inside. The crab wontons were just cream cheese, no crab at all. The Szechuan chicken was just so-so, they even sold it as spicy, but there was no heat to it. The twice cooked pork was literally twice cooked, too dry to eat. Finally the chicken fried rice, it was a very good attempt especially with the red onions and tender chicken but there was no flavor to the dish, just very bland. This looks like it used to be a full service restaurant but once you walk in you see only a handful of operational tables. No table service to speak of. All dishes are served in styrofoam regardless if they're takeout or dine in. In closing the food wasn't bad, it just isn't good either. This place has to be one of the worst places I have ever eaten. Not only was the service poor but so was the food. When the waitress was dropping off our food the phone rang, she took our food, set it on the bar, went and answered the phone, then cashed a customer out, then brought us our now Luke warm food. The sheer amount of onions they put in their low mein is disgusting. Beef and broccoli, you mean broccoli with a few pieces of beef. I am not sure how this place has been opened as long as it has. Went to lunch with hubby and both of us said we are never going back. He had an order of egg rolls, which were ok along with beef egg fu young. His was dinner size cuz these were not on the lunch special. Three large patties fried up but not much beef at all. I had chicken and veggie lunch special. It came with an egg roll (different egg roll than the regular...hubby ate it) along with hot and sour soup. The soup was ok but the chicken Ken had a weird soy or teriyaki sauce on it (and lots of sauce) instead of a white or chicken y type sauce. Did not care for it, along with the tiny scraps of chicken in it. It had lots of its bitty pieces of chicken...not normal sliced chicken. I also got a cup of wonton soup.....don't get it! It's mostly dough that's doubled over to make the wonton look big. When I did find pork, it was not good. All of that along with being served carry out boxes with plastic silverware. I have to be honest on this, I dont understand the great reviews. I walked in and was literally the only other person there. I ordered my food and it was to me within 3-4 min which means one of two things. It was either made for someone else and left laying around, or they premade stuff and let it sit around. Either way I was a little put off. I got the beef lo mein and I dont know what noodles they use but it is not what 90% of other restaurants use. It was a weird noodle that had a "slimy" consistency to it. The egg rolls and egg drop soup was pretty damn good. That and the service is what made me give two stars instead of one. Happy Wok is a small restaurant in a strip mall way out on the east side of Valencia, but worth the effort. I had their Kung Pao tofu and ate every bite.
