Love Haraz. The shaken espresso is a fantastic iced drink on a hot day -- it tastes strongly of coffee plus the magically spiced Haraz syrup, which tastes like a combination of saffron, cinnamon, and cardamom and probably some other special ingredients. Prices are a little high, but I don't know of another spot with such delicious and unique Yemeni coffee drinks, teas, and desserts. Service was great and the decor is airy and cool, especially on a hot day.

Haraz is a pretty nice coffee shop if you want to hang out or study. They have a lot of desserts and food options available. Additionally they have a lot of unique drinks and flavors. We tried their matcha cloud drinks and they were ok compared to other drinks that they offer here like their adeni tea. The mango and strawberry flavors were overpowering and you couldn't really taste the matcha. I would recommend trying their milk cakes or adeni tea if youre here as that is their specialty.

Great spot with sunlight to study or work in. Came around 1pm on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy. Good seating and cute decor. Will definitely try desserts next time. Lots of choices on drinks.

I had the Turkish coffee and it was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the space is large and welcoming. I stayed for a few hours doing some work. I will definitely be back!

First time here. It's on a corner, not too far from the University. We came on a wednesday morning. There were just a couple other people there. Lots of natural light coming in from all the windows. The place was clean, and quiet. I have been to a similar coffee shops and have enjoyed the distinct and strong flavor of the Adeni tea. Got greeted by a friendly Barista, who was the only one there. Ordered Saffron Adeni and a Honeycomb Cheese Bread, they call it Bee Bites. My friend got the Pistachio Latte and the Baklava. All of the items that very good. The Baklava was very fresh and flavorful. The Cheese Bread was good, but maybe a little over baked. My only disappointment was in ordering the Adeni Tea, I asked (several times) if there was a way that I could have it made as a latte. Where the milk is actually frothed, and with some foam on top. The Barista understood what I was asking for, but wouldn't/couldn't make it that way. (Other Yemeni coffee houses offer that option, like Qamaria in Greenfield).

Yemeni coffee shops are cropping up all over Milwaukee. They tend to have spiced coffees and teas, nice decor, desserts and pastries, and be open late. Haraz has all those qualities and is also close to UWM. It gets a bit busy and it can be a little hard to move around when it's crowded. But it also looks like a good place to work or study. Most of the tables have access to an outlet. And it would be a good place to hang out and have a conversation too. On my first visit I had the Sana'ani coffee with cardamom and the Dubai chocolate brownie. I liked the depth of flavor of the coffee. The brownie was a deliciously indulgent midday snack. I ate it in small bites. It was so dense that my plastic fork broke 3/4 of the way through. Definitely recommend. On a return visit I had the saffron Adeni tea. That was a real treat. I love coffee but I don't always want to drink it in the afternoon and have trouble sleeping later. But this was something special. It had a complex flavor with some bitterness from the tea and some almost savoriness from the saffron and not too much sugar to overwhelm the more subtle notes. I love coffee shops and this is definitely one I would go back to to read or charge my phone or just check out some more of the dessert case.

Hip and trendy Yemeni coffee shop on the east side. They have a great selection of coffee and tea. All coffee are caffeinated so get ready to be wired :) This is a great place to hang out or work remotely or sit and read a book. Pretty bright and spacious , lots of seating. I tried their pistachio chocolate dessert with pistachio latte, good combo! Also tried their empanada/bread for a savory light lunch treat! If you're a coffee, tea, or dessert lover this place is for you!

Decided to finally try Haraz to get a chai latte, which didn't disappoint. I loved the vibe inside with a pretty young and diverse crowd. I also decided to try their apple and mango mousse dessert, but there were a variety of fruit flavors. It's a white chocolate shell with cream and fruit filling. I really liked the mango one although it didn't taste much like mango; the apple one was meh. I would definitely come back and have a working day here.

Very excited about this new Yemeni cafe in town. I'm a frequent flyer at Qamaria in Greenfield for their pistachio lattes so I needed to check out Haraz which is much closer to home. It's very cute inside, I would totally bring a laptop and bust out some work if I needed to. The baked goods all looked amazing and there is a bigger selection than at Qamaria. I didn't try anything today but they looked incredible. The taste of my pistachio was good but maybe a bit different than I expected. I only have the pistachio latte from one other place to compare it to but I was expecting a bit more creamy flavor and this latte was light on on the creamy pistachio and a bit harsher/bitter on the coffee front. I still drank it all, it was good, just different. I'd probably try some of their other drinks next time I come back. Service was friendly. I wish them so much luck! I signed up for their customer rewards program, I'll definitely be back!

The service is nice. The ambiance is lovely. Their milk tea cakes are sooooo yummy! I always get the same coffer and it never disappoints! Creamy and warm, the Cardamom wafting out of the cup when you open the lid. It's truly a delight. Superior coffee experience for anyone with a sofisticated palate.

Cute cafe! Stopped in and got the matcha latte and pistachio milk cake. The matcha was good but the cake was amazing! Very good sweetness level and super moist from the milk. Had a great time here!

Heaven in a cup of coffee! Either a very nice ambiance and cool middle eastern music.

I hadn't been to their new building yet…read moreand was pleasantly surprised to see some really cool retro pictures, hand stitched artwork, and classic wallpaper. It's a fun space and felt very welcoming. The chilaquiles were fantastic! They make their own hot sauce in house that was a good addition to the dish, along with chorizo. Highly recommend this one. It was also a huge portion and ended up feeding me for two meals. Make sure you get here early to avoid the extremely long lines; we planned to be there right when it opened and by the time we left, there were already people having to wait outside. Worth the wait though!

Huh. I've heard good things about Honeypie and I'm confused now. I tried to get brunch with my…read morefamily at another area spot, but the wait was too long so we opted to try Honeypie. We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
