I absolutely love Harbor Freight, I'm new to the Pleasant Hill location however because I just moved from Newark, Ca. Only been here a few times so far but every time; I am greeted when I come in, I had a question and this lovely little lady was very knowledgeable and happy to help me. Twice I was cashed out by a cute little cashier with dark smokey eyes. She looks mad but when she spoke to me she was very sweet! I really like the cheap low prices and the free item coupons available to me. Only one thing I didn't like was, their was a line from the front of the store all the way down the aisle with only one cashier ringing and the manager just standing their, aren't they suppose to help when a line is that bad? Great sales and tools but horrible customer service.. the lady with the rose tattoo behind her ear was definitely in a bad mood so I tried not to deal with her as much as possible but when she was ringing me up around 7pm (02/09/2017) she didn't even acknowledge me and instead pulled out her phone to send a text during the transaction and she ignored me till the end. I like harbor freight tools, but this particular location is terrible. The service is so slow - every time I go there. I had a whole shopping card full of stuff, when I was there July 4th. I left it all behind because the line was ridiculously long and at the pace it was moving it would have taken me at least two hours to get to the cash register. I went to home depot instead, was just around the corner. Sure, I paid a few bucks more, but I waited less then 3 minutes in line to pay for my stuff. The savings at harbor freight are not worth my time to wait in line forever. I won't go back, this location is so bad that I rather pay more elsewhere. read more

Knew there was a reason we had never purchased anything here. Today my husband reluctantly bought a tile saw from them so that he could finish up a quick fireplace remodel after our old one broke during the job. He wasn't home but five minutes when he opened the box and realized it didn't come with the blade, like nearly all tile saws normally do. He called over after reading his receipt that said "subject to restocking fee". After explaining what happened, he was told that because the box was opened it would be a 20% restocking fee. The sales associate never made him aware of any restocking fees, because he wouldn't have purchased the saw if that were the case. We will never buy anything here again. We will continue to shop at the big box stores that don't charge any ridiculous fees. read more

Ive been to a few harbor freights before so I knew what to expect. But this particular location had a very hum glum vibe to it. I got a quick hello once I walked in, but any question I had after that seemed to be a bother. I walked each isle with a list in my hand, passed countless employees who were putting items away that never asked me if im finding everything alright. I had a list of 3 tools I needed to fill a toolbox for my husbands birthday. Once I hunted down someone about a type of wrench, the larger lady showed me in a hum glum tone and said theyre "like this" and showed me something similar and that was it. I asked another guy who worked there the same question, he said he didnt think they sold them and his phone was dead or hed research it. I needed a hammer and there were 3 employees stocking on the hammer isle, again not a single awknowledgement to me. I felt almost uncomfortable. Cashier was the same hum glum, never offered me a bag. Once I got home, I researched that wrench and they did have it. It never got shown to me. And I also got the wrong type of hammer and pry bar. I wouldnt got wasted a trip across town in traffic and got the incorrect tools if someone had some customer service and actually tried to HELP or do their job. So if you shop here, make sure u know what you need yourself because you wont get any assistance. Needless to say, im returning my entire purchase this morning and taking my business to home depot. read more

went in to the store on friday april 28th late afternoon..... the only reason i am leaving this puuuuurrrfect review is mike !! i had an encounter with a hilter like cashier, but mike came to me in the aisle and asked if i had any questions, i said yes, she wouldn't let me explain, when i asked her how to read the number on a coupon..(the older man was snippy as well, in store click i guess) i could not see the number on coupon, that matched the item on sale..it was just a question, i asked can you help me? thats it then i asked and got so much attitude i just walked away :( like i said st. mike came to the rescue lol lol lol mike was kind and gracious, helped me and i bought more! in the future i will bypass that cashier and wait longer to get mike or someone with a better disposition..:) thanks mike.... you are the reason for the true word customer service! the hero of the day... :) :) :) ;) read more

I bought a nail gun from this Concord store and The first time I try to use it, i it t was shooting two nails at once. Tried to exchange and even those obviously still brand-new they refused to exchange it because I had lost my receipt. From now on every dollar I spend On tools will be at someplace other than harbor freight read more

Harbor freight has cool stuff for good prices. This location lacks customer service and cashier speed.

Visited for the first time yesterday, tools such as hammers, sand paper, metal stamping kits and others ( I don't know the names of them) where all so much cheaper than Home Depot. We visit home depot immediately after assuming the tools would be cheaper at a large chain, here in the Bay Area. But they weren't and they didn't even have a few items, so I'll go back today and purchase the rest of my items. read more

The staff and managers here are friendly, competent, and have customer service in mind! With prices this low, there's no reason to order a machine from Grizzly, LMS or other import dealer; just c'mon over to this Harbor Freight and know you'll be taken care of, not treated like a number by somebody in a call center. Better than Sears and cashiers hired from 7-Eleven. Most of their tools don't last more than 6 to 12 months.

The stars is for the nice cashiers. Return policy is good. The quality of products TOTALLY SUCK, as most people already know. This store is NOT for pros, only for grandmas. Steel hammer broke in half, angle drill only makes sounds that it is drilling but no movement, nail gun jams nails and sends sparks flying, pipe wrenches do not grab well to pipe, pipe cutter is dull. Levels are not acurate and have huge varience. Safe to buy: tarps, ear protection, hand tools, but need to go gentle on them. read more

I used to own a small contruction company with 5-6 employees. Blue Channel locks never lasted a week, but the orange Harbor Freight ones were around for years! (good tools grow legs). Also, a 20 pc. screwdriver set with hardened tips is about 10 bucks. I have a knock-off Skil-saw that is 10 yrs. old. A pump for draining pools is $39, not $139. 4" angle grinders are $19 and Makita is $59. So you can buy 3 and put 2 on the shelf..... I love the place. read more
