Our designer recommended Harbour Hardwood to restore our Bamboo Floor after slight water damage. They were honest in there assessment of the damage and what could be done. Other people told us we could sand the floors down, but Harbour checked out the floor and explained why that was not possible. Instead they deep cleaned the surface. It took two days, but was it worth it! My wife is very picky about everything in our house and she was thrilled, repeating for several days after walking into the room, "It looks brand new." I have a beautiful hardwood floor by Junckers that is 7/8" thick plank. It's about 20 years old and in great shape. One room has some damage as well as some transition strips to be replaced. I reached out to Etienne at Harbour who said if. Purse he could take a look. He said our floors were in great shape and he sent one of his ten out to the house. Floor repaired and transition strips replaced in under 3 hours. They do outstanding work, are extremely professional and were very safe doing the work during Covid. I purchased my beautiful hardwood floors from Cut & Dried Flooring approximately 2 years ago with a Maintenance Agreement and had them installed by Harbour Hardwood Floors. After having my family over for this summer for several weeks and all the kids running in and out from the swimming pool through the house my floors looked like they needed some help. I called Harbour Hardwood Floors and asked if they could send out someone to do a visual inspection of my floors, as this was included in my Maintenance Agreement. Recently installed 1500 SF of reclaimed flooring on the first floor of a house we were remodeling. While I was pleased with all the subs our contractor selected, I was especially pleased with the work ethic and attention to detail of these guys. They were the first on the job in the morning and the last to leave in the afternoon, and even worked on Saturdays to fit in around the other trades. Very conscientious. Weren't the cheapest bid but we're thrilled with the results. The estimate guy showed up late for the appointment. He couldn't give me even a ballpark cost estimate, but promised to send it via email in a few days. Why does a flooring estimate take 2 days? I called their number after a week without a response. The office returned my call 2 days later with a promised to send the estimate the next day. Why does is take 2 days to return a phone call? Harbour Hardwood Flooring Our family has used Harbour Hardwoods on three separate occasions and has had a wonderful experience each time. We hired Harbour Hardwood four years ago to replace ceramic wood-faux tile in our living room, kitchen and bedrooms. After looking at numerous wood styles and colors, Etienne, the owner of Harbour Hardwood, recommended reclaimed teak. He also suggested installing the planking on a diagonal, creating a flow to the flooring that visually widened the narrow rooms. We were/are very pleased with the result. The job was completed on time and the crew was very careful to keep the work area clean, especially during the demolition phase, and turned the house over "dust free". Our daughter also hired Harbour to refinish her existing hardwood floors and they now look better than when they were new. Last month when we decided to replace the carpeting in the loft, our first and only call was to Harbour Hardwood. They pre-finished the flooring off-site, to eliminate sanding and dust inside our home. Plastic sheeting was installed floor to ceiling to enclose the loft for the minimal sanding needed to perform the final finish. Excellent. I was really glad a friend recommended Mike and Harbour Hardwood. After going through an awful experience with a different flooring company, they stepped in and gave excellent advice, made what another company said was a major problem, not a problem at all, just needed to seal our slab to protect the floor from our slightly moister than average slab. Bottom Line: Save yourself time, money, insults, and damage to your home and choose a different company. There are many reputable flooring companies that have access to the same wood products that Cut and Dried (Harbour Hardwood) have access to. The demolition job of the old floor was subcontracted out. The demo crew scuffed my walls with their floor grinder, damaged the kick-toe underneath my kitchen cabinets, crushed two areas of bullnose corners and needed to use MY shopvac to do daily clean up because they didn't have one. Cut and Dried said they would fix the damage the demo crew caused. They fixed toe kick under the kitchen cabinets, but not the paint on the walls or the bullnose on the two corners. The flooring install crew, with the exception of one guy, worked very slow. One guy would show up around 7:30am, the next guy would show around 8am and they might get started by 8:30 if they were lucky! Lunch took an hour and they would start cleanup by 3:30 and gone by 4'ish. Additionally, they put a hole in my drywall while stacking material and busted a portion of a window covering. The baseboard install didn't go too much better than the floor. When nailing the baseboards to the wall, the installer didn't use a stud finder to make sure he was hitting a stud (I even offered to let him use mine, but he refused). As a result, nails were sunk directly into drywall and some of the baseboard didn't hold its shape on the wall. I unfortunately paid in full before realizing that the one man install team forgot to put base in the coat closet and my son noticed they missed a corner in a bathroom. The owner / manager is no better. I've done many small and large home renovations with great contractors. However, I've never had a worse experience with a contractor than with the owner / manager of this company. For a job that took only two and a half weeks, I had to write out four checks. The first was to cover materials before he would order them (no problem) - nobody wants to get be stuck with material a customer no longer wants. That amount was 68 percent of the total job price. The second check he wanted was the day they started demolition. He put in the contract that he need a check at start of work, but did not put an amount that was due. He wanted a check to bring payment to 89 percent of the total cost of the job; and he had done NOTHING. The final issue came when the owner / manager wanted another check (the 3rd) when the floor was was finished being installed, even though they were coming back the next day to begin the baseboard install. I said I would pay him when the floor install was finished. It took his workers two hours to clean up last minute items. During that time the owner must have asked for a check at least three times BEFORE the job was finished. I reiterated that I would pay for the floor when it was done. With the last items complete I went to write a check and I told to the owner / manager that I did not appreciate being constantly asked for more money before a job was complete. The owner proceeded to RAISE his voice at me and tell me how he didn't like having to wait for his money or keep asking me for a check. I was in disbelief! The floor had only been done for five minutes and it was his choice to stay on the job site. He could have come back later in the day or the next day when they began the baseboard install to get a check. I informed him also that I was taking off money to cover the broken shutter. At which point, he looked at me and ask "are you SURE it wasn't broken already?" That was the end for me. I wasn't going to give another penny to a company owner who yells at me in my own home and then accuses me of lying to him about damage that his workers caused. read more

I've been in a construction project at my residence for a few months. The designer brought out a sample, we just loved. One problem, the product and installation was very expensive through the builder. I looked everywhere for a comparable product. While having lunch in Solana Beach I saw Cut and Dried Flooring/ Harbour Hardwood Flooring. I walked in and looked at there selection. It was great, but just wasn't what we had been looking for. Mike and his team at Harbour Hardwood are one of those diamonds in the rough. Mike is exceptionally knowledgeable about wood flooring. You can tell he's been in the trade a long time, and knows pretty much everything about wood floors. I honestly trust him, and will consult with him on any future project.
