Great service. Yummy food!!! Had dinner in Fabi's section last night, and she was so sweet! She had great recommendations and made us feel welcome. My husband and I have been coming to Oahu for the past five years and have started some traditions of our own. We tried going to three different places that we've been to in the past, and none of them were there. Seeing Waikiki transform into Las Vegas and becoming more commercialized is very sad for me to see. After learning of our let downs, we decided to have dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe. OK. Kinda Hard Rock. A lot less gear. A lot of big screen TVs. Gift shop is OK. Not a lot of selection. Food was nice but very very very expensive. Service was good. Very attentive. Very disappointing in that the food order was so far away from expectations. It's one thing to pay a high price if the fare meets or exceeds expectations and yet another when it misses completely. I'm speaking primarily of their fajitas and associated Mexican fare. The beef fajitas did not taste at all like the fajitas we were used to. In fact they did not use fajitas meat. Our family of 6 made reservations here ready to eat because we had a long day at the beach. Came to the restaurant and the waiter came by, not looking at us when he was talking. I asked for water and he said "oh ok water for everyone? Then?" I said sure but we'd like some lemonade for my two kids to which he said " I have to get the lemonade from the bar, okay fine, there is no refills." I told him I don't need refills. I just asked for lemonade. He walked away and brought her drinks. He asked what we wanted, I told him we are ready to order. He then walked away. My husband called him as he was walking away and he ignored us. He yelled it again, still was ignoring us. He proceeded to go wait on another table who was not even asking for anything. Then, I called him very loudly. The whole restaurant heard me and so did he. He instead, left to the kitchen. I'm not sure why he chose to ignore us. I am assuming he was racist because I don't really know why else he would give us so much attitude and decide to ignore us and the way that he did. I am not taking this personally because there are racist people in the world. Our family just got up and left. This was the worst service I have ever received. I have never felt racism that strong before. I guess our money is different because we are not white or Hawaiian. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you are white or Hawaiian because that is the only kind of people they will be nice to. read more

Oh Man Hard Rock Café Honolulu!!!!!? I am truly sad to post this review but its necessary as such an experience is not within standards of any Hard Rock Café on the planet. We are collectors nationally and internationally and I am still in aww by our experience. I give the food zero stars and one star to our greeter/ hostess Kira and the the other to our waiter Jeffery (who were great!). First of all the fact that our food was even approved by a "line cook!" at an Applebee's is appalling let alone a Hard Rock Café brand. Our kids had the mac (digesting), cheese burger (lacked flavor), and tenders (awful); we also had the nachos with beef which came out cold and had 6 pieces of beef cubes, spicy shrimp (so bad we just left as is), American sliders and twisted mac (which by the time those two items came out we decide just to pack and take home). Now the winning items were our kids birthday brownie sundaes (which we paid for because we made special requests- I called a head to make the request, wrote a detailed note in our reservation and reconfirmed specs with our hostess prior to sitting down. Needless to say it was not executed which honestly was fine but when its simply not serving quality there is a big issue). Funniest part if the manager on the floor walked by as I was beating on our kids hard rock brownies and didn't even think that she should address the situation. Not to mention, when checking out at the gift store the manger was right next to Kira who checked us out- who asked about the kids dessert and if they were executed to our liking and I said they were not which the manager heard but decided to look down instead. This place should loose their credibility of being associated with Hard Rock Café- you simply cant miss the mark by this much and you cant say its an off day! I know that this is a franchise restaurant, but this place was bomb! The severs were cool and helpful. The menu was pretty decent. I didn't feel robbed like I did at another big name franchise eatery. Maybe it's the island vibe but this place is a winner. When on vacation, we try to eat at places authentic and with local cuisine. But when we want consistently good food and service, we'll go to a Hard Rock Cafe. This location had my favorite layout and had an awesome atmosphere. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered great options for the most local items and drinks. He especially took great care of my daughter, who was visibly tired and hungry. Her order was put in right away and brought out quickly. We got her grilled chicken and steamed broccoli from the kids menu with an apple juice. The chicken was well done as I asked, too. I ordered the chicken fajitas and my husband got the local Legendary Burger. It was a lot of food, but it came out hot, fresh, and tasted great. We were also seated right by the windows and had a street view. We had a great dining experience; we can't wait to come back to O'ahu and dine here again. read more

Hard Rock in Honolulu is on par with other Hard Rocks food wise. The real enjoyable part is being able to sit in an open air balcony and enjoy the music and people watching on the sidewalk outside. The burgers are quality and plentiful. They have a pretty good kids menu with about 6 main course options. The mixed drinks are pretty good too. The milkshakes are the really enjoyable and well made. When we travel, we always make a point of visiting a Hard Rock Cafe. The Waikiki location was a fun stop and, just like the other cafes, our service was awesome. The atmosphere was classic Hard Rock and allowed for the wonderful ocean breeze to cool us off . Andy was great at taking care of us and we enjoyed our Spicy Shrimp app along with our margaritas. After spending 2 week's vacationing in Maui we were really disappointed with the busy, flashy, omg so many freaking people that greeted us in Honolulu. (Hubby here for work for two weeks) But hey, he collects city shirts from HRC so of course we had to come try this one. Wow... so glad we did. As with several other reviews, we were seated on the lanai overlooking the busy street and parade of people. We were told 15 min wait, which ended up only about 5-8 minutes. Everyone was super friendly. One of the store associates offered to take a pic of us both in front of the signage. . Our waiter was Mike. Super friendly. Really knew his stuff about beers....even though a navy ship had just arrived a few days prior and drank them out of most local beer. Those guys deserve it! Thank you for your service. So we did find a couple of beers we liked. We weren't overly hungry so we ordered two appetizers to share. Chicken wings and southwest flatbread. Mike suggested the wings grilled instead of fried for a smoky flavor.... okay. Whatever. We'll try it. Wow... I will ask for wings that way every time. Really great flavorful and all was great spice. The menu might be more condensed than what one might be used to for a Hard Rock cafe, but they do whatever they have on the menu VERY well. I ordered the trio Fajita, the shrimp, chicken, and steak were all cooked to perfection. Seasoning was spot on as well. Beer selection was the usual plus some locals. They had pretty good burgers, I thought they were pretty dry tasting, we did come across an encounter with the waiter since he threw out our nachos without even asking if we were done with them, we did not realize he threw them out until we reached out to get some and didn't realize he took the nacho plate while he put our food on the table. I notice a lot of people visiting on vacation don't keep their receipts or even look at them. I came across a scam some of the waiters are pulling here on those that aren't paying attention. I was in for a burger with two other local friends. We ordered a burger and a beer. I ordered a draft and my two friends ordered a bottle beer that cost like $7. When the bill came my draft beer was priced right but my two friends $7 beers showed up on the bill as $23 and change. When they ordered a beer the waiter asked do you want a mug with that and they said yes. They were served the beer in Hard Rock Cafe mugs that you can purchase which accounts for the higher price. The only problem is nothing was ever mentioned that you could keep the glass nor did myself friends want one. So you pay the bill without looking and the waiter cancels out the check and prints a correct one charging the correct $7 and pockets $9 + additional tip so say $10-11 every table they pull this scam on. They pick up the mugs that the unsuspecting customer doesn't know they're buying, clean it out and recycle it. The real tip-off was when I complained about the bill the correct version was already prepared. I watched the waiter and he never went back to the machine, just magically already had it. I called the next day to explain what was done but they weren't interested so maybe the person answering the phone was in on it. It wasn't a one man operation though because the pickup of our "souvenir" glasses were picked up before we had a chance to claim them. Why would a busboy clean a souvenir glass sitting in front of a customer? Unbelievably crooked. Tired of this routine in Waikiki. The reason it happens so often is almost no one reviews their bill here. BEWARE! Rebuttal: Nice try. First of all bribing me with one of your glasses which I don't want doesn't address your problem. 1. Nothing was ever mentioned about purchasing a souvenir glass. 2. The first time I heard or saw anything about a souvenir glass was when I saw the charge on the bill for $11 and change each rather than $7. 3. No one from your multiple staff that visited our table said anything about a souvenir glass or where to pick it up. 4. The glasses my 2 Companions were served were different from mine. They asked would you like a glass with your bottled beer not do you want to purchase a souvenir glass 5. The glasses were removed from the table without any mention of picking up a glass. And 6. And the tip-off the whole thing is an ongoing scam....the second waiter brought back the corrected bill without returning to the cashier. SCAM. I've worked in restaurants and bars and I know how things are done. Shame on you for blowing off the problem. I have nothing against Hard Rock and I didn't lose a nickel because I caught you. Just trying to warn some of the people that go there so they don't get ripped off. So make another lame reply instead of dealing with your staff Andy and John for two. You should have an immediate staff meeting and change your procedures so this can't happen. Until then Stay Away. Plenty of other good choices around town. If not count your fingers read more

Staff was rude and clearly inattentive - they dropped off plates with old food on them for our apps, said "what do you want" when taking our order in what can only be described as the rudest tone, rushed us to order our mains and practically threw the plates on the table when it was ready. Dark meat chicken pretty much overpowered any other flavors of the sandwich; and as the meat tasted terrible as if straight from bag, kind of ruined the sandwich. The atmosphere was subpar. I have been to Hard Rock Cafes in other parts of the world and they know to go all out. In Tokyo, Japan, every booth has music related memorabilia to put you in the mood for entertainment. In the Philippines, the live entertainment brings in the crowds from all over and is a good time (especially 80s Night type bands). But Honolulu played it safe and settled for a "wave" of guitars to awww you and you move on. Other than the music videos playing on the monitors/TVs hard to tell you were in a Hard Rock Cafe.
