Boy, where do I start? Service was about as slow and inattentive as possible. It took ten minutes to get the two glasses of wine we ordered which came in plastic cups. The food was awful. I didn't have a bad experience here. This is the hotel restaurant - with it being Waikiki and a hotel resort, the food was good, but the value wasn't great. I got the seared island fish, which was $39, and it left me wanting for something more, whether it be quantity, quality or value. Service was good, although slow. Difficult to tell if they were understaffed or slow. Ambiance - the restaurant is by the children's pool. While most of it is covered, if it rains, you may get a little wet. The staff did a good job trying to keep tables and seats dry. If you've got resort credit to spend, you can get a decent meal here. read more

This is a great place to come to see the sunset. We got here too late. It's still nice eating in the open air. The live music was good, however it got drowned out by the luau show. I wish they would bring back Alan Akana and his band. A good selection of food. I had the crab cakes. These were deep fried and sautéed would be better. The grilled lemon and the sauces were tasty. I ordered a side of grilled asparagus. My friend had the fish tacos. She must have enjoyed them because she ate it all. Service was slow and they had many servers. My family always stays at the Marriott when they come and I always groan about it because that means we'll be having Queensbreak for lunch since they like to lounge by the pool. In past years the food has lacked flavor, been burnt to a crisp, soggy, BLAND. Last year we went across the street to McDonald's because we did not want to eat here. However this year the food has upgraded and is really good It is still the same menu, but they are definitely not making it the same way. Everything we have ordered has been tasty, the service has been really great, and I find myself wondering "hmm wonder what I'll get for lunch tomorrow." We visited just after New Years and stayed at the attached resort, so I had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant several times. The food was adequate, but service was hit-or-miss. When we dined as a party of 2-4 we would get good attentive service. When we ate a meal as a large group we of course paid an automatic gratuity and were largely ignored -- never checked on after the food was delivered. Water was needed, another round of drinks would have been ordered, but the server was not there to check. Very frustrating that we could hear her having a very animated discussion with another staff member just over the hedge in the kitchen area. Some of the best food we had in Waikiki, and we ate it half naked! We tried the fish tacos, nachoes with pulled pork, beef dip and of course many drinks. The fish tacos were amazing, locally caught marlin, great tortillas and fresh salsa. The beef dip is one of the best I've had anywhere, not just in Honalulu but anywhere. The beef wasn't soggy, it has a little crisp to it and the mayo ratio was perfect. The nachos were also great but you have to order them with the pulled pork, so tender and flavorful because they take it from last night's luau! Service was mostly great but when it gets busy sometimes it's hard to find a server so come early. If you get Ken your in for a treat, not only does he know all the best food in town but he is fast and friendly. And lay but not least the atmosphere... EVERYTHING here was delicious, beautiful and pleasant. It is one HELL of a walk across the resort to get here, but you cannot beat a beachfront view with live music and local eats. Literally Kapu. Very talented local artists play here often, and they are just so fun to watch and support. Next to your expanse drink selection and menu, it was really difficult to narrow down what to order! The warm, salty air from being oceanside just really brings everything together here, especially after sunset. TLDR : Amazing ambiance with possibly the best unobstructed views of the ocean. They have live music in the evening and definitely makes it a good spot for catching Sunsets! We arrived for happy hour, asked about it at the bar, the bartender told us he was serving and we could also get the happy hour deals in the Cafe, so we walked down the ramp, past the pool, and found an open table overlooking the ocean. We had a cabana at the family pool which is the perfect way to spend an afternoon in Waikiki. Jade was our server for the day and she has to be one of the hardest working people at this place! Prompt courteous service with a smile. She took care of us and went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. The food was great and especially for pool side eats. The menu offered a little something for everyone. There's a kids menu with fairly generous portions. We went with a mushroom and goat cheese pizza. Delicious with a nice light crust.
