The food was decent but overpriced. Drinks were expensive as well. I really don't want to pay 12 to $15 for a drink that comes with a collectable (you keep it) but cheap quality glass. Restaurant was just too damn loud to be enjoyable. Just not my kind of place. I'm sure others will be okay with those kinds of things. Another thing I didn't like was when our pager went off indicating that our table was ready, we were sent up stairs. When we got there the guy with the pink hair told to wait off to the side because our table wasn't ready. Really? Then why the hell did you page us. Plus there were other empty tables. Why did we have to wait at all? To be fair the prices are typical for the area but there are cheaper alternatives that are really good. read more

We gotta give this place a good review. Not a huge fan of hard rock cafes in general, but we ended up here on two different occasions during our vacation. Food was excellent on both occasions, nothing to say. The settings were also great, both nights they had live music which was very pleasant. The bands were both good and music not too loud. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the small beer selection. Not many choices. They only have one local IPA which we tried and it wasn't that good. read more

Stopped in for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe last week. It was a weeknight and not real busy. The host tried to seat us inside the restaurant but we requested to be seated on the open patio area. Inside was really loud but the porch was nice. Our server was real friendly and the service was pretty quick. The burgers we got were great but I upgraded the fries and it was ok. I think it only cost $1 to make them a little unique so maybe give it a shot. The memorabilia, like in all Hard Rock's, was very cool but my favorite part was the wave of guitars starting from the staircase, crossing the ceiling and ending over head by the patio. read more

The hard rock was right next to our hotel, the Polynesian residence. We got a discount from the hotel. This was our favorite happy hour spot we went a few times, the bartenders and staff were really friendly, the drinks were great, the portions of food were very large, the food delicious. This was my first trip to the Hard Rock Cafe in its new location. I just recently moved back to Oahu and the wife and I were looking for a place to take the kids for dinner. I must say that this was the best Hard Rock experience I've had at any location, and I've been to more than a dozen HRCs around the world. First off, I like the second floor open air seating. It gives a great view of the streets and people below and creates a great atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening and were able to be seated immediately (5 seats). The live music was very good and not so loud you couldn't carry on a pleasant conversation. The "wave" of guitars is a great eye catcher, and created some extensive dinner conversation. Second, was our server Jack. Having been a waiter in the past, I usually expect a lot of them. Jack was awesome, plan and simple. He was very patient and accommodating at every aspect of the dinner. He was willing to listen to specific order instructions and even had some great suggestions for ordering specific items. Jack was knowledgeable about the menu and was extremely attentive to our children. When we go back, I will specifically request him as our server. I had the 10 oz burger, and it was great. I am one who likes a medium well burger that is still juicy and flavorful and this burger was both. It had great taste and was cooked to perfection. The fries that came with the burger were crisp and hot. They were not overly salty and had a good flavor as well. My wife had the fish tacos with the Ahi tuna and loved them. Again, Jack recommended how to order them and they were perfect. My 12 year old daughter tried the 6 oz burger and made the comment that it was "the best burger she had ever eaten". My other children had the mac and cheese and some sides of fresh fruit and had no complaints at all. My wife and I also tried several of their drinks and they were all great tasting and reasonably priced. Overall, the experience and food by itself would have been well worth the money we spent on the meal, but having Jack as a server definitely cemented the fact that we will be returning to this HRC soon. Went here for lunch, I had the pulled pork sandwich and my girlfriend had the ceasar salad. Both meals were good. Nothing to special though. But definitely a place to visit if you come to Honolulu. Very cool set up inside and a lot of memorabilia to see. Should definitely see at least once. read more

Visited on a Sunday during lunchtime and found the restaurant unbusy. We had our choice of patio seating. The restaurant appeared to be well staffed, and we quickly waited for our drink orders, but the waitress took her time in getting our meal orders. Then the wait began; it seemed meals took too long to be prepared. I found my Honey Mustard grill chicken sandwich to be delicious, one of my friend complaints his New York steak entree had an odd combination of spices. And my other friend said their steak Famous Fajitas were ok. Our drinks were refilled promptly. Overall, the meals and service were average. The most appealing thing about the restaurant is music decor of memorabilia, sports being televised, and live music at 9:00 pm, every night during the week. read more

Maybe it was my visit. But my food was so bland they were slow and yet our service was so slow. The table had some sugar on it. And my drink had spilled and ice all over the table I had to wait 10 minuets for the server to come over to which I had to tell him twice cus he just walked away and "refilled" my drink when I said all the ice spilled out on this sugar I need a new glass please. Then I got a "new glass " we never got any new napkins as the ones we had were used to clean up the water. My sons food was not served hot the sausages were dry. I am saddened to give this place a two star review as we love hardrock. Our food was good and our waitress was actually really sweet and awesome but the wait times were just insane. On top of that, we saw multiple giant roaches while eating. Now i have lived in Hawaii for a few years now so I understand that you just can't avoid them sometimes but these babies were HUGE and you just don't expect that in such a pricey restaurant. We were seated immediately and our order was taken ~20 minutes later. Our food took ~45 minutes to come out and they brought our 5 year old the wrong meal so they had to completely start over for his (and who wants to deal with a 5 year old who is last to get his meal) that took about 10 minutes to come out. We ate quickly and had to ask for our boxes and check, at which point we ordered a cheesecake to go. We then waited another 20 minutes for the cheesecake to come out (these are premade- all they had to do was cut and box it). We expected to be out of there in half that time. We visited on a Sunday night in the early evening so it was not that crowded upon arrival but picked up at bit by 7pm. read more

I've been to around 25 different Hard Rocks so far. This one has just about the least amount of memorabilia of any I have been to. However, it has better decor than most, friendly staff and real quick with our food order even though they were really busy. I also enjoyed the band and them having the performance shown on all the tvs so everyone had a chance to see them. read more

Had a great experience at the Hard Rock. Our waitress, Brittany from Wisconsin, was so great. So friendly and extremely helpful. We never had to wait for drinks and she was great helping with recommendations. This being my first time in Hawaii, she gave me a lot of recommendations of fun things to do on the island that I didn't even think of. We came back to the Hard Rock a few days later and saw Brittany working. She remembered us so we asked to sit in her area. TLDR: They accused my wife, 2 year old son, 4 year old daughter and 6 month old daughter of dine-ditching them. WTH! Highlights below; Wife and myself went to dinner here, I had to take my two year old son to the bathroom and a little after my four year old daughter had to go. My wife took my four year old daughter and my six month old daughter to the bathroom. When I left the bathroom I got accosted by three waitress and a security guard. They said your wife left!!! And here's the bill!! All this one foot in front of the bathroom. Mind you I was as only in the bathroom five minutes as I didn't have to go. So they shoved the receipt in my face and I looked, already cleared my table while taking my wife's baby carrier. (Even after I paid the bill they still didn't return the baby carrier). I stormed off upset with my son after paying the receipt. A little later My wife then comes out of the bathroom with my four year old And 6 month year old daughters. Wondering what just happened and where is her drink? (I later, yelled at her about taking off to the bathroom after I went, when things calmed down I apologized). Out of control. And the waitress never apologizes. In shock I gave 15% tip. God damn do I regret that! Please do me a favor, regardless of what the tip is, leave 1% less so hopefully in the long term karma pays them a visit. Thank you and this review was given under oath. read more

From the jumbo platter appetizer (a must, praiseworthy delicious) to the brownie sundae (huuuuge, easily shareable) and the great service, my family and I definitely enjoyed our time here. I'm glad I decided to bring my brother here to celebrate his birthday. Not only did they give him a complimentary sundae, but they also made him feel special by having the entire restaurant wish him a Happy Birthday. I was very disappointed. I have a dairy and an egg allergy. The only thing on the entire menu that I was able to eat was the fries. So I ordered them. They were overcooked but cold and it had to have been the bottom of the bag because all I got was burnt crispy tiny pieces. I would not return and would not recommend to anyone, there are so many other AMAZING restaurants nearby that deserve your money and are more accommodating. Update: I was contacted by the General Manager very quickly after my one-star visit. He apologized for the service and offered to make it up to us. While we have yet to take him up on the offer (busy holidays and all), it proves to me that despite my previous visit, this restaurant is in good hands. I'm willing to admit that poor service can be a fluke, and I look forward to a better review following our next visit to Hard Rock Cafe.
