I've been coming to the Hamline Avenue HARDEES for 15-16 years mainly for the Thick-Burger-Thursday promotion. There has been a recent change in management. Among other things is an increase in the number of black employees, which I think is a good. I can add that the "tone" of the place has vastly improved. However, things were a mess today--no ketchup in the dispenser, cashier didn't give us a number "flag" to put on our table when we ordered to eat "in," unbelievably slow getting our order out, some staff socializing with non-customers hanging out with time on their hands. Hardee's have had one of my favorite burgers. The monster burger. I loved the sesame seed bun they put it on in particular. If they still had that bun, I'd be giving it 5 stars. To me the new bun is too sweet and plain, and takes away from the flavor of the monster burger. If they ever go back to the old sesame seed bun, I'd give them 5 stars again. read more

I have literally been waiting in the drive thru for 30 minutes until I got to the order box. I then sat there for another 10 minutes bcuz nobody was taking orders. When I finally ordered the guy said there was only 2 people working so he'd get to me eventually. No sorry or any information given about what was taking so long. I love Hardee's, it's my favorite by far. However tonight I rolled into this 24 hour Hardee's at 3 am and was told that they were "trying to catch up" so no orders were being taken. I called the store and was told by the same person that they were "sweeping the back and getting caught up". There was not even ONE car anywhere near the restaurant.... this is not the first time this has happened, and I'm not happy. read more

Fast drive thru service for dinner time. Prompt customer service. Ordered the #1 single burger with curly fries. Burger didn't have any lettuce and tomatoes like advertised. Bread on the burger was a bit much so ate it open burger style. I'd probably go somewhere else for a burger fixation since the burger was only OK. read more

Yuuuuuum! Who knew fast food burgers could be this good! Curly fries, awesome! Chicken tenders, great! The only disappointment so far was the Jalapeño Double Cheeseburger (I like spicy but the flavor seemed off, could have been the Santa Fe sauce). I've been here so many times but my last experience was horrible! I asked for an all natural bacon beer cheese burger. The person taking the drive through order asked me to repeat my order so I told them again what I wanted.the beer cheese burger is the only thing I order from Hardee's. I got my food at the window and checked the bag ant it had the all natural beer cheese sticker on the box so I thought it was ok. I got home (I only live a few blocks away) it was a regular cheese burger! I called up to Hardee's and talked to the manager and they said they will replace my order with what I really ordered. I went back up there and got what I thought was an all natural beer cheese bacon burger and when I got back home this time the beer cheese was not heated plus they gave me a regular beef patty not an all natural beef patty which I made clear I wanted. I eaten this burger many times and know what it tastes like. I called up there and the manager said to come back and switch it out again but I had to go to work so I wasn't going back there for a second time because of their stupid mistakes so the manager said well there's nothing they can do and they would not give me my money back they can only exchange it for a new sandwich. The employee's here don't know what they are doing and the manager I talked to was rude when I called the second time. read more

This place weas awful! I ordered 2reakfast friscos, because it was the special. YUK!!!!!! The bread was soggy, limp and cold. The eggs and ham were luke warm. All in all, a rip off and very unpleasant experience. I called to get a replacement or something else and they said they would send something and never did. Very poor customer service. read more

Best fast food burger you can get. I remember Hardees 20 years ago was nothing special just kind of average but they had locations all over the cities and now its just sad that the modern day Hardees with the awesomest burgers (for a chain) does'nt have lots of locations anymore otherwise I Would probably induldge in a Frisco melt with curly fries more often than I do now but im not in the Midway area often , but when I am and if I happen to be hungry Hardees is where im eating. read more

I love hardee's and was surprised to see one off the highway in St. Paul. The restaurant was dirty. The floor looked like it hadn't been washed in days. There was pop spilled on the counter where the drinks were. The salt and pepper shakers looked like they had never been cleaned. Lots of the tables were dirty and needed to be wiped off. I have never ordered a combo from hardee's before and was disappointed. The sandwich was small and so was the amount of fries given. For spending over 6 dollars on a fast food meal, I want a good sized sandwich. I'd rather go to wendy's were the portions are the right size for the price. I wouldn't come back here, which is unfortunate because I use to love going to hardee's. read more

It seems to me that there used to be a lot more Hardees Restaurants around and that many of them have either closed, been sold or rebranded. So I checked their web site and was quite surprised to find out that there are over 2000 existing stores, mostly in the southeast. At one time there were over 4000 stores so there has been some cutting back and those cuts were quite noticeable in the Twin Cities market. There supposedly is another Hardees on Rice Street in Little Canada and I'll have to check that out. The web site said that there still were 25 stores all around Minnesota. This one is the closest to me and the only one left in St. Paul. With all the cutbacks, I was further surprised to find out that Hardees is the Number 5 ranked national chain behind Subway, McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's. So, I suppose if you're number 5 you have to work harder to please and I was mostly pleased with my visit. They serve what they called the "Thickburger" and it is a most satisfying hamburger. I chose the Mushroom and Swiss version. The fries are equal to the McDonalds taste (the fries are really the only thing that McDonalds has going for it and I consider McDonald's fries the standard in the industry) and the beer battered onion rings were good. Condiments are served in large cups, not little itsy-bitsy teeny-weenie cups provided by the penny-pinchers at McDonalds, BK and Wendy's. The only problem with my visit is that the cup dispenser was empty (I got the last one) and no one refilled it during my visit. So I brought my used cup for a second fill of Heinz. The place has a nice atmosphere and you can also order ice creams and dairy products. Like Culvers, your food is brought to you. You don't have to wait at the counter for your fries to cook. Customer service was A-ok, unlike McDonalds where insulting you is the norm. I would definitely consider making this Hardees a regular stop. Good food, good service. read more

I went to a fast food restaurant but hey, even the,"low-cal"(pun-intended)an EXTRA large soda does not validate nor excuse BAD service or FOOD!YES I ordered the"NEW" value meal(that just happens to be a somewhat value for my buck, considering that the real value meals add up to a full serviced meal,ordered, served, hot, to order to my table,cleared with refills AND tip. but that does NOT excuse the service here.I must say that since my return to the ONE and ONLY Saint Paul Minnesota HAREDEE'S my experiences have been like this.NO matter what time of day, the wait has had me drive off at least four times due to unexpected wait,15 min or longer from drive up to order,still in standing line then till just recently, to having a burger,fries and soda ALL SMALL ADDING UP TO $7 OR MORE being not worth the wait to taste.Recently I ordered and received my "warm" food for a "bargain" and was like ok I will try AGAIN. yes similar deal different food as the same old McDonald's ect right?But NO! What is Hardee's famous for? Their amazing chicken biscuits served during breakfast hours. so being from the deep south when I found this Hardee's I was properly stoked to get over to them to finally get a passable biscuit up here in the god forsaken upper Midwest, where you guys haven't even heard of bojangles. you can imagine my chagrin when I stepped up to the register to order a chicken biscuit and the girl at the register responded with a blank stare and said she had never even heard of that. A Hardee's that doesn't serve chicken biscuits. Wow. What's next a chik-fil-a that tries to change its menu to accommodate the locals by adding cheese curds? ...oh right, that's already happened here too. Oh well I guess thats where I'll start eating breakfast because at least they still have their chicken biscuits.
