BUYER BEWARE before purchasing online from this horrible business! I would give them 0 or negative stars if I could. We returned 2 Tectus hinges that we ordered from them online because it wasn't the right color, and they only refunded half the order claiming that the screws were missing. If anything was missing, it was from their warehouse because we shipped it back exactly how we received it. I also find it completely asinine that there was absolutely no explanation from them until we reached out to them ourselves to ask about why we only received a partial refund of half the amount. Also, the lady that we spoke to was one of the rudest customer service reps I've ever spoken to in my life. Super rude and super hostile. I recently bought a gorgeous all-wood office unit: all-in-one desk and return, wall of bookshelves, several filing drawers, and huge hutch. The catch? I found Hardware Source on the internet. I have an oak wall unit that a friend built for me quite a while ago. One of the Euro hinges broke. These hidden hinges are genius, but there are many variations of them, and I would prefer to use replacement hinges that fit, without having to do any drilling or cutting. I submitted 3 photos to Hardware Source, and got a prompt response from Dom. I sent Dom 4 different measurements of the hinges/ doors (these things are complicated!). He promptly sent me the ordering info for replacement hinges. They fit perfectly. I ordered an extra pair. They adjust easily - much better than the old hinges. Problem solved. read more

I called to see about getting the delivery right or recovering the extra money we paid. The customer service people were not helpful and basically said it was my problem; no refund. Although everyone I spoke with on the phone was extremely nice, the quality control of the products at Hardwaresource.com is abysmal and they don't assume accountability for selling faulty products. I ordered 8 parliament window hinges with supposedly removable ball pins. When they arrived, even though their package said "Made in Taiwan", they looked nice enough and they they seemed heavy enough to be of good quality, so I gave 6 of them to my carpenters to install. When I came back, I found that the pins were impossible to remove. I then tried one of the un-installed hinges, and still could not get the pin out in any normal manner. Finally, using pliers, I tried to pull out the pin, but it was so stuck that I couldn't tell which end was the pin and which end was just the ball, and I ended up only being able to pull off the ball end. Finally, I took a hammer and small nail to it to try to push the pin out from that end. Even with a hammer it was nearly impossible to push out. After my concerted effort, as well as that of 2 very trained carpenters, I decided to buy better quality hinges from Crown City Hardware. At twice the price, they are worth it for the sake of not damaging my new jamb and new window sashes. I though that HardwareSource would allow me to return their faulty hinges. However, HardwareSource was completely unwilling to accept responsibility for the faulty hinges, even though they said that they might have been a bad lot, and chose to blame me for the fact that the pin was near-impossible to remove, claiming that it was due to the way they were installed (even though the same level of difficulty applies to the remaining hinges that had never been installed). What a waste of time and money. I have never had such a bad experience with any online retailer; even if a package from another retailer is opened, if it is a faulty product, other retailers assume responsibility for that product. How is this for bad customer service!! Anyone reading this post I would say buyer beware. If you have an issue with your order don't rely on their customer service to take care of it. I ordered hardware parts from this company online. When the order did not arrive I tracked it and found it was shipped to an address which is nowhere close to my address. I called to inquire and was told that I they would reship the order. Later that day a person called to tell me that I had missed entering a number for my address so they just shipped it to the incorrect address and they would not pay for the product to be reshipped. I asked why they would ship to an incorrect address without contacting me. (On line they ask for both email address and phone number) Had they done this there would not have been a problem. At this time both the person I was talking to and her supervisor started with an attitude and insisted that it was my fault for missing a number on my address. read more

I ordered 5/8 inch hinges from this company. This company is one of the few that still have this size of hinges still available for purchase. They called me to tell me that the color hinge that I wanted was on back order. They suggested if I would prefer another color. Told them that it did not matter since I was going to spray paint the hinges anyways to black color. They suggested a oil rubbed bronze. They did not charge my card until they called me to ok the purchase. I ok'ed the oil rubbed bronze and it arrived two days later. It looked almost black so I did not need to spray paint them at all. I love the fact that they did not charge my account unless I was happy with what they would send me. I love the fact that they called me with questions and I love the fact that they still sell 5/8 of an inch, hard to find hinges. Great company! very professional.
