I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois so I am very familiar with Harold's Chicken restaurants. This Harold's Chicken location is not good at all‼ Let's start with the lobby area to the food last. The floor in the lobby area was extremely dirty and sticky (video provided), the "No waiting in the lobby signs" are all over the lobby area. The cashier/cook said, "Those signs have been up since COVID, you can wait in the lobby or in your car and come back in 15 minutes." I waited in the lobby area and took some pictures. The price list for the food is blacked out, there were food crumbs along the counter but you can not dine in, there was a big box in the corner that had a waste tank for camping, the fries were old and cold, I asked for a 4 wing dinner fried hard with salt and pepper with sauce on the side. The chicken was previously fried and he fried it again in old grease and taste like pork skins, salt pork or bacon. I really couldn't tell which one but it might have been a combination of all flavors. The $7.50 that I spent for a 4 wing dinner was a waste of my money and time. I give them 1 star and that's for the picture of Barack Obama on the wall. I should have known that the food was not going to be good since they were basically inside/attached to a gas station ‍ but hey I saw a Harold's and got excited since it's a spot from back home. I do not recommend Harold's Chicken #22 I told the cashier that I do reviews for restaurants and he said, Please Do One‼ The chicken recipe is wrong but the sauce was right.

Nestled away right next to a gas station this place is pretty much a carry out joint. This restaurant is not in the best area of the city. They have a small dining area, but it is pretty tight. The chicken is pretty good, but as many have said before me, save some time and call your order in. They do have lunch specials and some intriguing desert choices like toffee grapes. Food here is reasonably priced. I got two lunches for under $10 (what can I say, I like my food). Parking is also limited there as the small lot is shared with the gas station. All in all the fried chicken is pretty good and a 3.5 rating would be more accurate, but I opted to round down.

I called my order in and was advised 20-25 mins. It wasn't ready when I got there.... now I've heard they were slow so call in your order. Not sure why they move so slow. I ordered the chicken and perch combo and it was $14.0 and some change. I asked for mild sauce on it and hot sauce on the side... no matter how slow they are the recipe is the same so the food was seasoned well with no issues. My food was pipping hot and fresh. I would have preferred a little more sauce on my food but overall it was good. My chicken wings were very crunchy and my perch was fried (soft) crunchy. I would have preferred it to be cooked a little bit longer. From a business operations position. I feel like they need to implement a better way to service so orders can be processed timely and a bit more organized. Would I order again yes.. but not a place to order from on a regular rotation.

Straight off the highway right on the corner of 38 in Lafayette very convenient is connected to the gas station gas Limited parking you have to make your own parking spot Good takeout chicken and fries cheddar jalapeño poppers are pretty tender and broccoli cheese bites have bacon and it doesn't tell u and I don't eat pork so I went in there and told them and still got charged for a replacement mac & cheese bites which are pretty good in their sauce is so good definitely get the sauce sauce sauce sauce Hot or mild sauce

The location is a bit inconvenient since it's connected to a gas station on an extremely busy street. The food was done after about 15-20 minutes. Everything was cooked well, not too hard, not too soft. The fish could have used a little more seasoning, there honestly wasn't much flavor. The shrimp was spicy and had a little more breading than I would have liked. I do like the mild dipping sauce on the side with the fries. Overall I did like the meal and, I would dine here again.

Whatever you order, order with mild sauce and your experience will definitely be unforgettable. Harold's does a great job of achieving a non-greasy, succulent, and flavorful chicken that you don't feel bad about eating. I'd also recommend setting aside some time to sleep afterwards!

The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

So when I saw them featured on The Devour Summer Fest 2026 menu I knew now would be the perfect opportunity to go check it out! Calvin greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile & genuinely friendly energy. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We loved our dinner so much he helped us make sure we could return for brunch when the Open Table app was being glitchy. Zach did a great job taking care of our order and was very attentive. It was my first time requesting a DORA to go cup to take a cocktail with me after leaving the restaurant. He was really nice about that. The food was incredible. I LOVED the Gnocchi French Onion soup, and the Bahama Mama Chicken--chicken kabobs with grilled pineapple & red peppers, tamarind Jerk BBQ sweet maduros, Cuban black beans & rice, guacamole and pickled onions. I particularly loved the warm pineapple with the Jerk sauce and how tender the chicken was. It was such a generous portion I will be having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The Florida Key's Lobster & Shrimp Roll made with Hawaiian rolls, served warm with Key West Lime butter or chilled Maine-style and salt & vinegar fries were out of this world!! The cocktails are also fantastic delicious and reasonably priced. They have a great selection and happy hour as well. I love the decor and the vibes. They even played Sublime which made me feel like I was back in Long Beach, CA where some of my best core memories were relived during this dinner! Can't wait to return!

Bright white, light yellow and other beach colors added to the ambiance. We didn't realize it was the first day of Devour AND Tipsy Tuesday! Tipsy Tuesday is half off all drinks! We started with a Coconut Lime Margarita and a Pistachio Martini. They were both delicious but the CL Margarita was our favorite. It was light and refreshing and perfect for this coconut lover. We decided to order from the Devour menu - $45 for a starter, entree and dessert. Great deal. We ended up taking food home because the portions are pretty big. The buffalo shrimp and the fish and chips we lighting battered. You can really taste the seafood and not a lot of batter. Delish! The steak was very tender. The chimichurri was perfection. Fries were wide and thin. I absolutely loved these fries! The staff was so nice. They made sure we were taken care of (as well as the other guests). They shared drink and food recommendations. The owner, Mark, was so friendly and welcoming! He was actually working the restaurant and took time to chat with us. We will definitely be back!
