Wonderful customer service, fresh and delicious food! The restaurant was closing up but we were still able to place an order. Joshua was friendly and our food took no time. The restaurant was spotless, will be back!

Check your desserts... I've had a couple great meals from Big Sharks, but this scares me. Forgot a whole appetizer and the banana pudding I ordered was a moldy slice of plain cheesecake instead. Not great.

Big Sharks is a diamond in the rough. The guys who run this place are clean and professional. I can trust that I will be given clean and fresh food. You guys are amazing! I hope you can open more shops in the future. Thank you for great service and cleanliness.

Spent about $30 for this?! One piece of catfish (not that big or thick even & 3 pieces of chicken and two tiny broken pieces of fish each in the other. They raised the prices AGAIN and then they didn't even put everything it was supposed to come with ! Never again. If u must eat here. ONLY GET PLATTERS everything else is highway robbery

The best fish and chicken restaurant in Indiana. Really nice customer services. They open late week days till 12 weekends till 2. They also deliver.

I noticed this new place last week and finally decided to stop by to try it . It is off of Michigan road right in front of studio grill in a small plaza . You can enter the plaza from Michigan road or you can come in from the back where the movie theater is. When I walked in I like how spacious it is. There is plenty of tables to sit at . I was greeted right away and the man ask for my name or ticket number . I did call my order in so my food was done . I order the 6 wing and fries. It came out to be about $8. Which is typical for these little fried chicken/ fish joints as I call them . The wings were fried just right , none were burned or under cooked. The fried were good too and there was lemon pepper sprinkled on them . With these fries you should definitely eat them right away . They will not taste good heated up because of how soft they are. I will definitely come back one day.

The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

My husband thought this West side location would be nicer and less of a cheap atmosphere. We were welcomed right away and taken to a booth in the bar. It was private and the table was large. Our waitress was also the bartender. She did a great job as she kept an eye on us and also her bar responsibilities. We had the Red and Black. This entree was for two. We added 1/2lb of sausage. We had two large lobster tails. Snow crab with huge meaty legs. About 2 dozen shrimp, mussels and potatoes as well as corn on the cob. All was delicious. We were pleased with our meal and enjoyed all the juicy sauce associated with it I would give this restaurant 5 stars but the building and decoration, etc are dated and the atmosphere is that of a cheap restaurant. Will we go back? You betcha just not right away. Too much fresh seafood to eat on a regular basis

I ordered the Sea Bass special, and it was easily one of the best seafood dishes I've had in a long time. The fish was prepared lightly blackened, giving it just the right amount of savory kick without competing with the delicate flavor of the sea bass itself. Main dining space has a combination of booths and tables of larger and smaller sizes. There is a fish tank behind the bar and maybe in the main room as well. Our table was between the bar and a small booth as well as near the entrance to the kitchen & bathrooms, so there was a decent bit of traffic through our congested area. Our server, Darrell, was AWESOME. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable of the restaurant's history and menu. I used the information he shared to guide my order and was grateful for doing so. Wife ordered the special shrimp bowl ($21), which was packed with flavor. I chose the Ono ($32), which was a firm, meaty fish with a parmesan crust and chose the clam chowder and sweet potato fries for my sides. I really enjoyed the fish, which was huge and I brought half of it home. The chowder was excellent and the fries were crispy (uncommon for sweet potato fries) but not overdone. All of our food arrived promptly. They also provided a fresh loaf of sourdough bread to go with our meals, which was tasty. Would return based on service and flavor. Would probably prefer a booth to not be constantly walked around. Price point will probably prohibit our ability to return with any frequency.

I will say that I've eaten here at least 3 times before and it's always been top notch. I will be back again. But I did not think it was spectacular last night. My table started by ordering several appetizers and salads. I split the beet salad with my friend. That was a mistake. This is hands down the best beet salad I've ever had. It is delicious. My friend doesn't like beets and loved the salad. It's not very big. I don't recommend splitting it. I'm not a fan of the shrimp corn dog but everyone else loved them. A friend ordered them for the table. Someone ordered the prime rib dumplings and said they were ok. They looked good but I didn't try one. They really enjoyed the bacon wrapped apricots. Another person liked the pesto goat cheese Mac n cheese. The deviled eggs were wasabi this time. The preparation is always different. The table didn't love this preparation as much as others in the past. I thought they were good. I had the Stanley meatloaf. I'm not a fan of the very large broccoli they plate. The meatloaf was very dense. I won't order it again. But I will note that it typically gets rave reviews. It's just not for me. My friend who got the beef short ribs wasn't excited about them. I had those last visit and they were excellent. I was hearing a lot of "ok" when people were asked how their entrees were. But everyone cleaned their plates, except me. I barely ate my meal and the server did ask if there was anything wrong. There wasn't anything wrong with the meal. I just didn't care for it. I boxed it up and brought it home. I will say that everyone really enjoyed the cocktails, appetizers and salads. Our entrees were fine but no one raved about theirs. We always eat at fine dining establishments when we go out. We loved Freeland's see my review for them. So we had high expectations here and left having had a good time together but the food kind of missed the mark. My bill came to $104 for two cocktails, a beet salad and meatloaf, incl 25% tip. I think when I go back I'll definitely get the beet salad again and stick to appetizers rather than an entree. My friends also ordered several desserts. They really liked all of them. The service was very good and the waitress handled our large party very well. It took a long time to get the food. There was a lot of time between our appetizers and the entrees. I think the kitchen was slammed. We were there for 3 hours. There is a 20% tip for tables of our size, but it was not automatically charged. There is no question Oakleys is a great place for fine dining. I recommend going there. The lunch menu is complex, yet affordable. A wine list features specials starting at $20/bottle. We start with a Shrimp Corn Dog. The "seafood dog" was made famous by Chef Oakley when he beat Bobby Flay with this innovative concoction. The variation of the seafood dog is artfully presented, drizzled with honey and fresh herbs. It is delicious. I ordered the Shrimp Risotto. I loved the spicy sauce on the rice. The mix was filled with bits of squash and onion. The shrimp were tender and flavorful. My husband was blown away by the Wild Boar Koran-Style Sloppy Joes with awesome house made chips and slaw. We had impeccable service from Nate. He was attentive, friendly and made recommendations. They bring a bottle of cold water to the table, so you can serve yourself. Nate stands behind every dish on the menu. Oakley's is truly a 5 star experience, perfect for date night. We had the crab cakes and crab & artichoke dip for apps and our lunch entrees were the fried catfish sandwich with fries and the filet with mashed potatoes and collard greens. For bevvies, we tried their rosé and red zeppelin English ale. All of it, every bit and bite, was 10/10. Food breakdown: - Crab cakes: succulent lump crap meat within a lightly battered and flash fried coating. They come on a bed of arugula with a light dressing and dipping sauce for the cakes. Super yummy! - Crab & artichoke dip: ooey gooey deliciousness, perfect balance of cheese sauce too. You don't have to search for the crab or artichokes. And the fried naan chips were sliced long and thin, and could've been called naan fries actually. Perfect companion for the dip. - Fried catfish sammich: the piece of fish was huge and the batter was good. It came on Texas toast with fixins and tartar sauce. Won't lie, the only thing I wanted for was some hot sauce. That's a me problem... just gotta have hot sauce when I eat fried fish but I didn't ask for any while I was there (they may offer it) and still very much enjoyed the sandwich. - Filet: it was great... hubby got it medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The Demi glaze sauce was so good and so were the sides. Their collard greens are seasoned up! I said does my auntie work here?! This cuisine is so comfortingly southern and didn't disappoint.
