    Crab & artichoke dip
    Elaine F.

Harper's had a hiatus last summer and has now reopened. I hosted a happy hour there today with fourteen women. The food was fantastic! People ordered the crab dip, the tuna tower, lamb lollipops, clams, burgers, crab cake, and other items. The happy hour deals are very good. The views are fantastic. Definitely put this place in your list of places to try if you have not been there. The service was friendly and very efficient, even with a bunch of separate checks.

First trip here, because we were in town for an event. As pescatarians, seafood is our preference. Sunday Brunch menu offered shrimp 'n' grits which included sausage, but they excluded it per our request. It was delicious! Very flavorful! We've had this dish in Charleston and it's difficult to find restaurants north of SC to do it justice. Josh, our waiter, highly recommended it and with one taste, we agreed! Kudos to Chef B Thornton! Beautiful views, friendly service and a delicious meal makes for happy customers!

Food was good. Nice views. But service was surprisingly bad despite not being busy. We waited a while before our server came over. Server never checked on us. Never refilled our waters (I had to go inside and find someone). And the beer I ordered when my entree arrived didn't come out until I was almost finished the meal. Very disappointing.

Discovered this gem and so glad we did. The hubby and I like to try new places at least once or twice a month. You never know what to expect with new places but let me tell you.....Harper's Waterfront is legit. Went for brunch today. Beware......the portions are PLENTIFUL and you won't be disappointed. We started with the Fresh Fruit Ice Bowl & Baked Brie. For 2 people.....just order 1 app. We pretty much brought the whole fruit bowl home due to the baked Brie being so amazingly big we couldn't eat all the fruit. I ordered the Steak & Eggs. The quality of that 12 oz NY Strip....that was cooked to a perfect medium...w/ Eggs & Homefries OMG!!! Hubby ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and I knew it was a winner when his eyes rolled to the back of his head after the 1st bite. AGAIN....portions are phenomenal! We each brought half our entrees home. Definitely add Harper's Waterfront to your list of places to visit. You won't regret it. Can't wait to go for dinner.

Just wanted to join everyone else in celebrating Harper's for an awesome dining experience. We got to treat my mother-in-law to an absolutely delicious dinner with incredible service thanks to Diana and a range of delicious entree's courtesy of everyone on the team. Whether the salmon, filet mignon, or the epic crab cakes, everything was on point. And they were also super accommodating in general. Also, did I mention the view and the vibe? Long story short, this was a dinner we won't forget. In all the best ways.

Omg my new favorite place. Writing this note as I sit at their bar, solo, enjoying apps and a dark & stormy (or two). The staff is SO FRIENDLY and fun, I already feel (and want to become) a regular. The crab and artichoke dip is the best version I've had. The shrimp are crisp, huge, sweet and fresh. Hats off to Amanda - cool as a cucumber behind a busy bar. You know how sometimes staff unintentionally makes you feel a bit weird as a solo diner? Not here. GM Melissa stopped by to introduce herself and celebrate that I was enjoying some me time.

    Peanut butter pie...chef's kiss!!!

This place is AMAZING!!! I rarely ever give 5 but they absolutely earned it. It's situated at a marina and has beautiful views of Lake Ramsey. The outdoor seating is very casual whereas the inside dining room definitely looks a lot more formal. We sat indoors and were quite comfortable. Josh was our server. He was awesome, very attentive, but still gave us space to enjoy the experience. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions which were all spot on. The new GM Doc also walked around greeted the guest, as well as Brian the head Chef. Both very friendly and personable. They took the time to ask your name and made a real effort to get to know you. You definitely felt like you were dining with family. As far as food, we got the pecan smoked wings as our starter. Absolutely delicious. The wood smoked flavor really came through. For my main I got the lobster and shrimp stuffed flounder. It came with green beans and whipped potatoes. The sides were beyond good. Both well seasoned and flavorful. My fish was just ok. A tad dry, but still good. Everything came out of the kitchen fast and hot. We completed our meal with the peanut butter pie. Decadent and rich! Probably the best dessert I've had all season. I believe it's a seasonal dessert, but it definitely deserves a permanent place on the menu. There is absolutely something special about this place. From the staff down to the food everything was amazing. If you're ever in the area, stop on by. You won't be disappointed.

You get a nice warm feeling there. A very large place. Love the entrance, is has a very nice bar. Food- Very pricing for what was ordered and brought to us. The shrimp from the shrimp cocktail tasted old and a bit chewy. My crab cakes had very little lump crab for $50. The server told me that they would be top notch. Wife's petite filet was good. Side dishes had to be sent back because they were warm. Wine selection is large and varied. My old fashioned did not come with a large ice cube, so I reprimanded the server and he changed it out. Classy places serve them with a large ice cube! Service- Felt rushed. Maybe they didn't have enough servers. Ours could have been a bit more matured and experienced. Their smocks need to be whiter. If you are wearing white, it needs to be white and not have that unbleached used look. Value- I don't see it. Stoney River is a better value though their atmosphere is lacking. Wait time- they sat us immediately. Food took a bit long we thought. All in all, disappointed. I went online earlier in the week asking for the best steakhouse in Md. and Lewnes was at the top of the list. Ambiance: Modern and sassy, but can be loud. I'd say it has a very energetic vibe. Not very intimate because of the, sometimes boisterous, patronage. There is a new dress code, but I didn't see it being enforced on a few. Not somewhere to have a quiet refined dinner, at least on a Saturday. However, there is outside seating, which actually is a little more relaxed, if the weather is cooperative. App steak rolls: These are always a hit when going here. Sadly I think these are going away because the new owners want a more authentic Italian restaurant. Steaks: We ordered 3 10 oz filets. 2 were cooked perfectly, the third was very rare in the center when all of them were supposed to be medium. Part of me thinks the back got the order wrong somehow, because the two others were perfect. Very strange. Truffle Fries: Very yummy, although to me, I felt it needed a tad bit more salt, but there is salt on the table as needed. I would definitely order these fries again.

For a restaurant with a full bar, it was surprising they had no mezcal and were supposedly out of top-shelf bourbon, yet still served me a drink that tasted overly sweet and nothing like the premium bourbon I ordered. The steak lacked flavor and felt low quality for the price. The "fried chicken platter" was basically oversized chicken tenders marketed as an entrée, and the mac and cheese was watery and bland instead of rich and creamy.
