We ended up going to Harrigan's for an early dinner. My wife had the sirloin and I had the New York strip. Both steaks were cooked good and had good sides. The New Orlean's potatoes were really delicious. The side salad was fine and the bread was just okay. Considering they serve honey butter I would have preferred a yeast type bread to go with it. The decor was nice and our waitress was really friendly. I do wished she had a better understanding of the menu and could have provided recommendations. I ended up going with the New York since she said it was popular, but wanted her to provide her own recommendation based on what she personally liked. The steak was tender, just very little seasoning. Considering you are paying a premium for these steaks I wished it had more flavor. My wife's sirloin also didn't have much flavor. Though I understand it is a cheaper cut of meat. I think this is a nice date night place. I'll be back to try out something else just probably not the New York strip. Really a 3.5 star restaurant, but can only give it 3 on Yelp. read more

I really like the atmosphere and the fact that is it quiet and you can have a nice conversation. The service has been great the two times I've been there. The ambiance was exquisite. The steaks were tough as leather, the service was slower than slow.

When I was at Texas Tech, this was my absolute favorite place to go! The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are all perfect. I live in Austin now, but to this day I still think about the spinach and artichoke dip, the French onion soup, the red wine sauce, the perfectly cooked filets, the amazing prime rib, the New Orleans potatoes, the Texas hot brown, and both the creative and classic cocktails. Everything on the menu is great, those were just my absolute favorites. I've never found anything that compares. I order spinach and artichoke dip and French onion soup at every restaurant that serves them and have not once found either that comes even close to how good they are at Harrigan's is. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough! I'm so happy that they were finally able to reopen in a better location and the Harrigan's tradition lives on! Harrigan's is truly a Lubbock staple and I would absolutely drive the six hours from Austin just to eat all my favorite meals there. Still my favorite restaurant ten years later. read more

I went yesterday to try and eat at this place after not eating out for months. I went at a low occupancy time of day but none of the staff were wearing masks and seemed insulted when I asked them why. No answer was provided. I left without eating and will not return because their failure to respect human life is not palatable to me. read more

Well I tried here today for lunch, I had the country fry steak, opted for french fries, and had New Orleans mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, steak was way to fatty and greasy, the potatoes were good, as well as the spinach and the chocolate cake well much to be desired, tasted like chocolate dough ice cream was melted by the time it hit my table, at 30.00 well it was expensive for not quality food. read more

I left Lubbock several years ago and was excited to bring my husband here - started great, same bread - really good. Zucchini appetizer also great. Husband had the "Brown" - lots of gristle but the sauce was wonderful. I got the chipotle salmon salmon sandwich - no chipotle taste in the bread, salmon very dry & little ancho mayo - asked for more, regular mayo came...needed more spice or something. Told the server & she just said sorry it was just ok. Last walk down memory lane - magic chocolate cake ... no raspberry sauce, " we are out" - so you don't tell someone that before you serve a lukewarm cake with cold vanilla sauce? Excellent atmosphere in the new place. Haven't been there since they moved, but it was well worth the visit. The food was perfect. We celebrated the wife's birthday. We started off with the spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer. She had the 6 oz sirloin & I had the 9 oz mesquite smoked prime rib. Both were cooked to exquisite perfection. We passed on dessert because we were full from the appetizer and entree. Server was very attentive and very polite. Made for an enjoyable evening. A definite place to visit!! read more

A friend went there order a bison steak, that came out undercooked, friend asked to speak to the manager and the manager literally made my friend cry! Terrible terrible terrible! ThIs place was horrible. we waited for over 40 minutes for a table when we were quoted only 20 minutes. Then it took forever just to get water. Then when we finally ordered and our salad was brought out we had to wait yet again for silverware and napkins. People around us started to get their food, whom were seated well after us and had a larger table of more than just our 2. In the end we waited for well over 2 hours and never received our food. We finally told them to cancel our order, ridiculous that we were still hopeful that we would get our food after all that time. We've lived in LBK for quite some time, but never tried the local fave, Harrigan's. The Hubster & I shared a rare day off together & decided a Lunch date was in order. Our server, Shamar, greeted us promptly & we asked if it was OK to order off the dinner menu...at lunch. She said, "Of course! (paused...........................) Do you want to see the Dinner Menu?" Ummmm....yes, please. So we order a beer, & a Spinach Artichoke appetizer (hello, 1999!) We decide on a ribeye for him - medium rare - and a sirloin for me - medium. Everything is going well...drinks & attention spot on. Salads just ok, appetizer what it should be. Fresh bread good. Then the entrees came... We were asked, as is expected, to cut into our steaks to check the temp. Mine is well done. Like, no hint of pink whatsoever. The Hubster's is medium-plus-ish. Our server looks horrified. She offers to have it refired...but no, really, we're gonna be OK, I promise. I'll eat this as it is (thinking the mushrooms & onion ring garnish might help). Really, it's ok. But,doesn't it come with a side, also? New Orleans potatoes, I think I ordered? "Potatoes?? Oh! Oh, yeah! It does! I'm sorry! Let me go get those!" It went downhill from there...We weren't rude, but I guess our server felt shy about returning to our table. No more drink refills. No more smiles. Sigh.... We asked for a box for the remains of our meal, which was brought promptly. Before we could use it, she tried to remove the Hubster's plate...we asked if we could like, get the steak off it first, please. So, here we are with our box & I was hoping to have a little dessert...that's how me the Hubster roll, yo. Leave fat & walk it off somewhere, but nope. Server drops our check. I guess we are being invited to clear out. OK. We pay...and she returns with the slip to sign & walks away without leaving a pen, never to return. I fished through my purse, but only had a lip-liner...MAC, in Boldly Bare. I use it to sign off & we're done here. I know it's a LOOOOOONG rant, but we're still perplexed on how service went from great to flat in a snap. I guess I could've just said, "Not awful, but don't order dinner at lunch." Plates came out randomly. 30-45 minutes later. Servers worked as best as they could. The food came and everyone said their food was good. It's so loud in here. Honestly, it's hit or miss. You will either go in and have an incredible meal and service or your will go in, it will take 2 hours to get your meal and half of it will be inedible. So, if you are in the mood to take a chance, go for it. If you want a sure bet that you are going to have a great dinner and service, I would probably go somewhere else. read more

Grew up as a kid going to the old Harrigan's off of Memphis Ave. in Lubbock. they tried to hit all the marks. But fell short in a few ways. First of all, the sound in there is far too overwhelming for the kind of dining atmosphere anyone wants with a price tag like that. they need to close the bar off completely and get some sound absorbers of some kind. the food was good! We had a reservation for a party of 6 & were seated on time. Waiter took our drink orders and returned quickly with them. Then we waited about 20 minutes before he returned to take our meal order. Waited another 30 minutes before we got our salads. Our waiter was very friendly and I feel that he was doing the best he could. It appeared they may have been short staffed because we could see that he was all over the place & busy. They need to have more staff because our appetizer plates & salad bowls remained stacked up on our table until we had to ask to have them removed when our entrees came out. It took awhile to get our entrees and we were all underwhelmed. The steaks were tough, and pasta dishes were bland. It is unfortunate because Harrigan's used to be one of our main go to places. Well very disappointed. Ordered the prime rib which in the past has been very good. Upon delivery of my meal there was approximately 50% fat and gristle. Notified wait staff who was very nice andsent manager to table. Manager stated he had received complaints before about the percentage of fat to prime rib. Stated owners actually paid more for this cut of meat. Manager then suggested the ribeye since the prime rib was not Acceptable. The ribeye was OK. Upon receipt of my bill the rib eye cost seven dollars more than the prime rib. I had assumed of course that since the manager had suggested the ribeye that it would be substituted for the prime rib at the same cost. So not only did my meal cost more than I had budgeted for I had to eat alone because everyone else had finished their meal by the time I got mine. I sent them a personal email thinking that they might want to respond and have not heard anything back therefore I am submitting my yelp review. Our waiter was the best thing about the place. Scott was caring and was very busy helping clean and set up tables. However, we over heard two waitresses arguing and using expletives. My soup was good and my fiancé's salad was also good. However the chicken bites were bland and the burger was quite dry. If it wasn't for the waiter this would be a 2-star review. Very disappointed. We always sitting in the bar tonight the lighting was way too bright it was almost like a hospital setting. Quiet too quiet there was no music or TV Sound, or anything. That said that the atmosphere was terrible. The food was very unimpressive. So disappointing from our last visits. It's too bad you are not having employees wear masks. As a patron who is eating and drinking, a mask is not feasible for us. It would make us feel much safer if employees were wearing masks.
