The quality of the food is slipping down. My black and blue burger was as salty as hell, the other meal was tiny by comparison. We ordered coleslaw which was delivered only to be told it was "Off" and that we should not eat it and pick something else. Steamed broccoli was siting under a pool of liquid butter and was again as salty as hell. The salt was so much there was no food taste left. This place was perfect for my Dad's 90th get together. They have a separate room that we set up for about 22 people last week for my Dad's birthday. Usually when you have a group that large, they have a hard time keeping up with your various orders and having food arrive at the same time. That was not the case here! All the food came out to each table at the same time and everyone was able to finish without waiting for somebody else's dinner to arrive. The supervisors, managers and servers were all awesome and we are real thankful to them for allowing us to have the party here. Oh," and the good was delicious. I highly recommend them! read more

Decided to give this place another try today and was pleasantly surprised. My visits here in the past have not impressed me but today was the best experience yet. While they weren't very busy, the staff was very attentive and professional today. Was seated quickly, and the waitress took my order quickly. My drink was ice cold and my food was hot and very tasty. The waitress kept checking back to make sure my drink ran out. A good experience and good way to start the year. Kids macaroni & cheese was the cheap box Kraft kind so not even worth the $1.99. But nice that kids eat for only $1.99 on Saturday (just order something other than Mac 'n Cheese!) SLOW! Great food. Good portions. Decent pricing. We trooped over as a family after a long drive, and we're only halfway. Anyway, we were tired & hungry. My youngest had chicken tenders off kids menu - really nice & fair portion $4.25. We also had the beef tips (a little skimpy but great mashed potatoes), the Caribbean Jerk Chicken (delicious but substituted rice for sweet potato mashed), the quesadilla w/a side of onion rings (the Q was just so/so but I loved the onion rings) and I had the Waldorf Salad. Sadly, everybody's order came out but the salad. 15 minutes later it appeared - kitchen mixup. I have to say it was delicious & worth waiting for - loved the apple vinaigrette! It's the best place in town and the only place we could find with anything close to a good cocktail. We had a good waitress (Ashley) and we had to be in Clinton, TN for a few days, so we were happy to find a place here that actually had good food, good service, and good cocktails. Extremely poor customer service. I had a burger and fries on 4-17, The food was good and service fair. I had asked the waitress if I could have slaw on my burger instead of lettuce and tomato. She replied in the affirmative. On receiving the check I had a $1.00 up charge and another $1.99 up charge. I asked the waitress and was told she was only going to charge $1.00 for the slaw on the burger but the manager told her she had to charge for a side of slaw $2.99. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me as I was getting a deal on the burger that night no substitutions could be made and that was it. I could understand a $1.00 charge but it was poor to tell me as I was getting a deal I had to pay for a side item and not advised. I will not return. read more

I've heard good things about this place, but the fish I got was over cooked and didn't taste right. My husband's brisket was so tough he couldn't chew it. Great look from outside. Food was beyond disappointing. Fish and chips. Cold fries. Limp fish. Bagged cabbage with that sulfite taste in the coleslaw. Bottled tartar sauce. I am going to be honest and sum Harrison Food up. If you rarely go out to eat, then you and your family will enjoy this place. However if you go out go eat often , you will not enjoy this food. Now with that they do have a few items that are great. Strawberry chicken salad, buffalo shrimp and surprisingly great ribs. There food here is just meh...nothing special. Another reviewer called it the "upmarket spot in Clinton". If "upmarket" makes you think "expensive", then this place is upmarket. If it makes you think "classy", then forget it. At a classy place the staff is only seen on duty and properly attired. They handle the business of preparing food and maintaining the dining area as much out of customer view as possible. At a classy place your waiter will hide a dirty plate behind his back if you flag him down on the way to the kitchen. They don't leave dirty rags laying on tables. The waitresses don't yell to each other through the restaurant or hang about on the booths chit-chatting. Waiters don't come out in dirty crocs and grind pepper into a container at a neighboring table (for who knows what reason - pepper shortage in the kitchen?) The cooks don't leave through the dining room in their work clothes waving to coworkers. The dining room music doesn't usually feature raging pop-rap crapola (I thought maybe the kitchen staff had their boom box up too loud, but it was coming from the dining room speakers). If I am eating fried pickles at a dive bar I might think of all this as "ambiance", but at $16 for an entree I am looking for a little more class than the average Burger King (although I don't think good BK management would go for what we saw here either). Speaking of the entree pricing - my wife had blackened tilapia, mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The tilapia may have been 3.5 oz before it was overcooked, turning half of it into shoe leather. She told the poor waitress (who was very professional, polite and sympathetic, by the way), that for $16 she at least didn't expect to leave hungry. (We were offered a replacement or a dessert, so we took a piece of cake back to our nephew.) It's not like we have never been to pricier restaurants with limited portion sizes before, and we don't expect our plates to be loaded with food. But if you want to charge $16 for a small piece of fish (especially tilapia), it should probably leave you with happy memories, not a sore jaw from trying to chew it. My salmon salad was OK at something like $13 and change. The salmon was very good, but the salad was basically soggy grocery store field greens with some pickled jalapeños from a can and not enough goat cheese sprinkled on it to make it feel "upmarket". The place seemed clean and our waitress was nice, but the staff doesn't have the chops to pull off class and the food and pricing doesn't work for everyday dining, especially not in Clinton, TN. You can drive less than a mile to get a belly full of good country cooking with service that makes you feel like you are at your aunt's house for Sunday dinner. If Harrison's doesn't want to invest in a little more training or a little better food, they should turn up the crappy music, hang some movie posters and memorabilia and cut their prices in half. I almost never do negative reviews, but I recommend you give this place a pass. If you want fine dining, drive to Knoxville. If you just want a decent meal, go to one of the mom n' pop places nearby. It won't quite be "upmarket", but you won't leave hungry and you'll have something left in your wallet. And you probably won't see dirty rags laying around. read more

I've never been fond of this restaurant although we eat here three or four times a year. I really don't have too much bad to say but I don't have anything good to say either. It is near the interstate and there is not much at Exit 122 except for fast food. I think it's a little overpriced but that's not really my problem. Very good food and price! They had a special for kids which was a nice surprise. The staff was extremely attentive and very nice. The steak was very good and the whipped sweet potatoes were very yummy! We also had the Ruben which wasn't bad either The kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and chicken fingers (but you really have to mess it up for kids not to like it lol)! Terrible experience! We have been traveling and wanted stop and eat a good meal. The drinks and appetizer (fried pickles) came out in the first 10 minutes. Then it took them 45 minutes and we still did not get our food. The manager blamed it on the fact that I ordered fried catfish. Said she was going to comp our meal, after we said we just wanted to leave she tried to bill us for salads, 3 drinks and fried pickles. Terrible customer service! read more

This restaurant is conveniently located near several of the nearby hotels - across the street from the Holiday Inn Express. The dining room has comfortable booths and the atmosphere is relaxed and not too formal. Waitstaff was friendly, and why he was very new to the restaurant, he was willing to inquire about pan frying my catfish rather than deep frying. The chef was happy to prepare it that way and added a lime cilantro marinade for me as well. Food was very good, well season and served hot. My only criticism was the wine selection was limited and low end, but very reasonably priced. read more

We stopped here on Sunday night at 8pm after a long day of travel. We were greeted by friendly staff All wearing clean black uniforms. Husband ordered tortilla soup and we shared salmon avocado salad. He enjoyed the spicy soup. The salmon o. The salad was hot off he grill and well prepared. This place was very convenient as it was close to our hotel. The service was pretty good, and the food was not bad. I had a 6 ounce sirloin which was tasty enough. My wife had a Jamaican jerk chicken entrée that was just so-so. The real draw to this place is that it is the only place in this county that serves liquor. Great overall experience. Ordered the fried pickles as app and our group couldn't get enough. Crunchy batter and fresh pickles along with tasty dipping sauce. Ordered the black and blue burger. Tasty , juicy and plenty of blue cheese and bacon. Then had warm apple pie with ice cream. Ice cream was still very frozen, needed a knife to cut through it but apple pie was delicious.
