This place was able to accommodate a party of 7 without a reservation on a night with a convention going on, that's pretty cool. We had a great dining experience. Decor-interior has low lighting and tons of seating areas. Just looks high class once you enter. Large bar right smack in the center and dark wood accents adorn the interior. Exterior is nothing too special, but nice and the heaters make it enjoyable. Service-great arrive, even though we were tucked away in the corner, our server did not forget about us. Food and drinks came out promptly every time. Food-it was great. Good portion sizes and well put together. I left stuffed and so did the rest of our group. Appetizers-calamari was above average and the sauce was the real kicker, it was some kind of sweet and sour sauce that was great. Guac and chips were also great. Entrees-Izzy's Style NU Strip was great! The strip is rolled in a pepper blend and laid on a bed of sauce that simply works. It's also pretty big at 14 oz. The side dishes are also pretty good. Lobster Mac n Cheese was good and so were the fries. Dessert-the bread pudding was fantastic! Loved everything about it, even the bourbon they poured over the entire thing. Went to Harry and Izzy's for a birthday dinner. Our reservation was at 6:30 and our entree was served at 8:22. That is almost a 2 hour wait. I do understand it was devour so it was a little busy. There was no one seated upstairs so it wasn't filled to capacity. The staff said, they just got a new POS system and that was the reason for the delay. Once we finally got our food, they served the above pic as a Medium Well steak. I asked the manager and he said the steak looked Rare. We also ordered the salmon and it was very dry. We have been enjoying meals here for many years, but no more... On Sunday they run the B team because it's quiet. There is no excuse for bringing the wrong steak cut at a steak place. The Server admitted he messed up and I respect that. Of course the second steak came cooked incorrectly.... It's a steakhouse, no steak should ever come incorrectly cooked!!!! I finally checked this place out after numerous people told me that I needed to experience it. I did. I wish I could say everything was awesome but it wasn't. I really wanted to like this place because the attire was spot on (clean and classic) and the bartenders were really nice but I was not happy with our food. Our appetizer was the Grilled Slab Bacon: the bacon and maple syrup were really good but the fritter, pancake or whatever that was next to it was horrible. It was like an afterthought. Buttermilk pancakes or hot water cornbread would've been a lot better than what they plated. Serve the bacon by itself or elevate the appetizer with something buttery and flavorful to compliment the bacon. World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail was REALLY good. I'm just glad I came to taste that! The sauce was everything! I swear if I had a cold it would've cleared. The horseradish in the cocktail sauce was yummy and it had an awesome kick to it. I sauce the sauce at Costco so now I have to have it. Chopped steak: asked for medium well and it was over cooked. The Gorgonzola really helped the dish but we didn't finish this meal. I felt like I was eating meatloaf. The steak was dry. We sat at the bar and the bartenders really made some good drinks. We loved their technique and candor. So after my boyfriend and I went axe throwing we were staying downtown and he wanted to go to Harry & Izzys but since we were out in the castleton area it only made sense to go to this location. It was already 10 at night! We sat at the bar and i can't remember the bar tenders name but he was extremely friendly and helpful. Awesome service and a phenomenal meal. We were a little disappointed when we couldn't get into St. Elmo's but this place rekindled our spirits. They have the world famous shrimp cocktail still and a very similar menu. We started with the shrimp cocktail which is amazing and followed it up with the meatloaf and ended with bread pudding. We aren't typically dessert eaters but this thing was phenomenal. It was also really hard to be at a steakhouse and get the meatloaf but it was worth it. It was our second time visiting. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere. Quiet soft music played and the lights were low. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. Our waitress was informative and friendly. She was patient and answered all of our questions in detail. Very lovely late lunch after some serious shopping in the area. They had a special menu offering of three courses at $40. I chose the Calamari, Caesar salad and Cod. The calamari was okay by itself... not a lot of seasoning but well cooked. However, it comes with a sweet chili sauce that made them awesome! The Caesar salad was good... typical steak house offering. The Cod was cooked perfectly and had amazing seasoning! It came with crispy fresh green beans that I could have snacked on all day. My friend chose their famous shrimp cocktail and the filet mignon with an upgrade to Oscar. I tried the shrimp...because it's one of their "things". Honestly, the sauce has so much horseradish that my eyes watered!! I don't really get why it's so popular but maybe just not to my taste. She said the steak was good but a little more cooked then she ordered. Overall, I thought the food was good and the atmosphere nice. You can get a really good deal at lunch here. They have a 3 course special that is worth checking out. I had the filet sliders, medium rare. These are tiny, but so wonderful. So buttery and seasoned well. The sauce on the side is a nice addition, but not needed. House made chips were really tasty and so was the garlic sauce that came with. The mixed green salad is nice. Large portion for the combo meal. French onion soup here is done well. Almost too much cheese- if that's a thing, but very good. Came out crazy hot! First time going last night We made a reservation at 7:15 pm and were sat within minutes of coming 5/5 Server was very kind and alert to our table 5/5 Appetizer- we got the fried ravioli.... 100/5 these were AMAZING a must try Entrees- we got the flier slider, cilantro lime tacos, and lobster Mac and cheese to share. The reason i give a 4/5 in total is because i asked for my sliders to be medium and they were just on the verge of being medium rare. I still ate them because the quality of meat made up for the undercooked temp but at a steak house that is a chain of St. Elmo's you would expect the temperature of your steak to be spot on. Lobster Mac was also a 100/5, amazing and a must try and the tacos were very good as well if you're looking to get something different. Overall, food and experience was great. I just ran across my old review and remembered the last time we ate here. It was the last beautiful warm day last fall and we decided to sit on the deck. We have always, for many years, eaten inside and never had this happen. It was mid-day changing of the guards or rather known as server shift change. As an ex server, I know that it is a challenge to keep things moving with this change, but this was a total complete failure on the part of the server and the insulting manager in charge. Meeting our server: He was unable to answer a few simple questions and then he said it was his first day. Ok I'm a compassionate person, so I understand he had to ask. * But who was training/overseeing him? -no one! He was never present, always unavailable disappearing inside. We sat totally unattended as the other servers did their set up/sidework around us and most all other customers had eaten and were leaving. Some servers seemed concerned that we were just sitting there so long. Finally he came out to check on us, empty handed, no extra water, no food (some were appetizers) and nonchalantly asked if we needed anything. I said yes, appetizers and food and it's been way toooo long. He said he would go check the kitchen. ??? Management: At this time a manager came out and was working around planning for the evening. She was totally disengaged with us and what was happening. A little later when the waiter brought 'some' of our food, I told him to skip the appetizer. He said he would have to talk to the mngr. what?? So I watched him talk to her and she seemed perturbed. She later came over and asked if there was a problem. I said yes! -the place is empty, it took way too long to receive our food and the waiter needs help in learning to serve. She never apologized or gave explanation but went to the kitchen and came back saying it was only 45 min and that's not too long, but I'll comp your check. (I thought, well maybe on a Friday night, not now and besides, I knew we had been there longer than that, 1hr 20min) Her attitude was atrocious. I said, No we are not cheats, we will pay for what we ate, but you need to know this: -in my whole life, I've never had such bad service or been treated so rudely. She didn't seem to care and still no apology... P.S. -we still tipped 20% (everyone needs to pay the bills) but haven't been back, especially outside, mid-day. One bad apple... read more

Went for the devour menu - which is one of the best deals in town - came in the main door, plenty of good signage for the COVID 19 Procedures and kind hostesses. We're promptly taken to our table on the patio. Had great, attentive (& and clean!) service. They had hand sanitizer on their serving trays to hand out the food. Great touch. The devour menu was fantastic - shrimp cocktail, tomato mozzarella salad and filet for $38. I upgraded the steak with the horseradish butter which was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly, the tomatoes super fresh and the cocktail sauce punched me in the face in the exact manner that is to be expected. Hurts so good! We had espresso martinis and creme brûlée to finish the meal and they were fantastic. Will recommend this restaurant and location and hope to be back soon! read more

Personal opinion...this was a miss for a $50 lunch downtown. No insult to my servers who were great as I came in for lunch at the bar b4 my flight out. I ordered rib eye and mashed potatoes at $33. A,side of onions and mushrooms added.... seriously?- $10. Rib eye came medium rare as ordered, but it didn't make up for the poor cut and lack of flavor. "Fresh" mashed potatoes had the consistency of reconstituted. I hope I'm wrong. For $33 lunch I would have expected salad or veggie. But no, that was extra. Again, the servers were great. Our waitress did an exceptional job. The problem was with our initial drink order. My wife & I ordered two "very Dirty Vodka Martinis, with Tito's Vodka and extra Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives". Not really a difficult drink to make. What we got were drinks that seemed to be made with something other than Tito's Vodka and 2 of the saddest looking stuffed olives (either terrible Blue Cheese or something else). It was very nice, but just OK. Then for Christmas, we went to another in that area, and it was the same... Very nice, but just OK. Then we chose to go downtown to an upscale restaurant for New Years... It was better, but still OK. Then we went to Harry and Izzy's on an off day (no special event). We neither had been there, so we didn't know what to expect. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! We ordered onion soup (to die for!), then steaks (cooked perfectly...just the way we love them); and to top it all off desert: bread pudding! OMG! There was enough for a table of 4, but I was so glad that my friend can't eat that type of thing (but she did a little). It was a showstopper and the best bread pudding I think I ever, ever, have had. If I had to rate them on a scale of 1 - 10; they'd get a 15-20 as my friend and I plan to make H & I a routine stop...just because everything was so perfect. The wedge salad is one of the best things I've put in my mouth! Absolutely delicious! The dressing is amazing, the bacon flavorful and crispy and the tomatoes are fresh and juicy. I get this salad every time I come in. This visit I splurged and had a bone-in ribeye with mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked really nicely and full of flavor. I got a Gorgonzola melt on top and wish I hadn't. That flavor was really overpowering for the steak. I ended up pushing it off to the side. The mashed potatoes were tasty and perfect to dunk my steak in. This is definitely a restaurant I come to for a special occasion, because it is pricey, but service and food are great! read more
