This place was amazing. Down to the house itself and the food. We had the stuffed shrimp with crab and that was really flavorful it was like getting shrimp with the crab cakes. Very flavorful Then I had the pumpkin soup which was warm, cinnamony and pumpkin perfect way to start fall off with. I for dinner I had the caramel pork. It was on the sweet side but that sauce is sooooo good. Maybe next time I would ask for the sauce on the side and extra. Then dessert we had the pb pie which was amazing. I would recommend this place. Good for a nice dinner with friends.

Hart Mansion Restaurant offers perfection from beginning to end! While in town visiting family, we went to Hart Mansion for a birthday lunch for my cousin. What a wonderful place for a special occasion meal. Situated high up on a hill, overlooking the cute downtown area, it looks special before you even arrive. The Hart Family lived in this striking mansion, leaving behind an essence of elegance. You can feel their history on the lovely grounds and as you walk through the ornate wooden front doors. You can feel the family memories and all of the wonderful times diners had once this home became a restaurant. The hostess greeted us as we entered. She was polite but could have offered a bit more warmth. Our server was incredible. She was professional yet personable. She was knowledgeable and remained attentive during our entire lunch. The lunch menu is diverse and looked great. We ordered a few different things. I must say, my shrimp entree was delicious and the fried green beans for the table were a highlight. They were crunchy and not at all greasy. The coconut cake we shared for the birthday dessert was delicious. We also added the peanut butter pie, which was equally tasty. I heard many comments from other family members that the cheesecake is a must as well. I will be sure to order it on my next visit. Once we finished our meal, we wandered through the mansion, taking in all the memories that were so apparent in every room. Up the grand staircase, what were bedrooms at one point, offered the bar room and private dining. There appeared to be a back staircase that seems as though it had belonged to the staff back in the day. The quiet elegance made us all feel so special. Outside, there is a lovely patio for al fresco dining. Music was piped outside, lounge seating was available and a fantastic carving of a lion stood in the garden, created a pretty atmosphere for dining, cocktails or both. The landscaping was perfectly cared for all around. Everything was lush and green. I can imagine in the winter, a gorgeous snow covered yard with twinkle lights for the holidays. Because we were up on a hill, the views were breathtaking. I loved it so much, I hated to leave...

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out. The service was great. Our waitress was really attentive and our water or drinks were never empty. Six of us went together for a birthday and not one complaint. The food was delicious. Can't wait to go again!

Loved it. I had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Delicious and well marbled (actually let's call a spade a spade and say "fatty"......we all know "marbled" is just a fancy word for that, and I have no shame admitting how much I love a good fatty piece of meat). Pumpkin soup was delicious, and for dessert my mom and I shared a creamy light raspberry moussey, custardy thing. I forget what it was called, but it was light and flavorful. The ambiance is quite lovely. It wasn't very crowded when we went and the dining room was airy and comfortable. I wish I knew more of the history of the building. I did see it was built in the late 1800s and I am curious about who lived here, what it was before it was the restaurant, etc. I'm sure there are lots of stories between these walls.

What a wonderful find in rural east central Ohio! The Hart Mansion is proudly perched on a stately hill 300 feet above the small town of Minerva. Built in the 1880s and sparing no expense, the Mansion exudes opulence with 14 foot ceilings, circle-head victorian windows and beautiful hardwood floors. Our party started with a couple of appetizers recommended by our server: the roasted banana peppers stuffed with sweet Italian sausage and pepper jack and an order of bruschetta sliced in eight pie shaped slices...an outstanding start! For our entrees, we selected a filet, a New York strip and an order of the penne pasta with chicken. All portions were generous and all entrees were exceptional. Hart's is worth the trip - five all night long.

A beautiful restored home turned into a wonderful restaurant.

We had called to make sure they were open, as it was kind of a weird hour, between lunch and dinner, so we wanted to make sure. They confirmed they were indeed open and asked us how many of us were coming. We thanked them and were on our way. They were kind enough to have a table already waiting for us, all set up when we arrived. Parking was easy to find. I started to feed the street parking meter quarters, but soon realized the meter was out of order. (Aside: Can you still get a ticket if a meter is out of order? I really don't know the answer to this. Fortunately I did not have one waiting for me on my car when we left.) We ordered the feta dip, the soup flight, their signature salad with shrimp, the smoked turkey sandwich, and my son had the flatbread as his meal. Everything was firing on all cylinders and we were so happy with our meals. I think the French Onion soup was my favorite thing I tasted. So flavorful. Whomever came up with the idea of a soup flight is nothing short of genius. Also, wherever they get their bread from......great choice! It was so fresh and flavorful. The ambiance is simple, elegant, clean, and beautiful. They took the charm of an old building and added a certain modern flair to it, while keeping the history alive. We especially appreciated the beautiful old restored murals and the plush, comfortable chairs. Gina was kind enough to come out and chat with us for a little bit after we finished eating. She and her husband opened this in a short span of time when the opportunity presented itself, and honestly if I didn't already know when it opened, I would have guessed they had been running this spectacular operation for years. I've already recommended this spot to a few of my friends that I think would really appreciate it. Downtown Canton can be tricky for businesses.....I truly hope they stay here for many years to come!

We visited on a chilly February evening and all the fireplaces were in use. I love it when there is a fire, the aroma just adds to the ambience. We had the Bruschetta, which was quite marvelous. Very tasty. There is a wine list, but it used to be better. A bunch of lower tier options, with a smattering of maybe 4 quality bottles. We did order a bottle of the house red, and it is sweet, flat, and heavy. My wife gave up on her glass and got a house Cab Sauv, which wasn't much better. We should have gone with the Stag's Leap Cab like she wanted. Dinner was the Filet Mignon and the Steak and Cake. The Filet was excellent and the Maryland Crab Cake was delicious. The Steak with the crab was good, but underwhelming. Desert was a strawberry chocolate cake. It was good. Overall. Great place, great ambiance, good waitress, and good food. Final price was @$217 plan accordingly. That said, we planned and were looking forward to splurging. Yes, I should have splurged more for the better wine too We will be back.

At the entrance was a surprisingly well stocked wine cellar with some very good names. I was looking forward to a nice glass of wine for lunch. Unfortunately, the table selection only included a very few obscure names by the glass, so that option was out. The menu included all the standard burgers, flatbreads, and odds and ends one would expect. The food was good and we had a nice lunch. We felt impressed by the 600 million pounds of boulders outside and the fun medieval-like architecture and interior design of the building (e.g., large doors, vaulted ceiling, oak panels, Spanish swords and shields, and tapestries). The seating hostess and the waitress served us promptly and politely. The dinner menu listed appetizers (e.g., poutine, pretzels, and wings), salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, chicken, steaks, veal, salmon, tuna, cod, crab cakes, pastas, vegetable sides, and some desserts. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Pierogi Flatbread - 4 stars - This flatbread had a wonderful crust, and it was topped with mashed potatoes, onions, and cheddar cheese. French-onion Soup Crock - 5 stars - My husband ate this soup. It had a nicely rich broth and onions and gooey cheese on top. Stuffed Shrimp - 3 stars - I ate this entree from the "moat," and I thought that it tasted just OK. Five large shrimp were stuffed with crab meat and lay on top of polenta. My side was a very fresh house salad. Queen's Prime Rib - 5 stars - My husband ate this entree from the "stockyard." A 10-ounce prime rib was cooked perfectly. My husband described it as "very tender" and "very good." He chose a buttery baked potato for his side. Apple Tart - 5 stars - We shared this dessert of a warm apple tart topped with vanilla ice cream. We enjoyed its sweet flavors. The total price for these five foods plus one soda was $95 *plus* tax, credit-card fee, and tip. My husband enjoyed this meal so much that he recommended that we return sometime to eat brunch.
