I always go to Reina for my haircuts and she is the only one I trust to cut my hair. She cut my hair perfectly and gave me exactly what I wanted. This was my first time getting bangs and she made sure start with a little and to adjust it to my liking. Her overall haircuts are always great and I always get the same haircut (a trim with a V shape and some layers) and she always does a great job. I told her I wanted lots of layers and a trim because I had a lot of hair and had face framing layers that needed a touchup as well. Haircut looked great after she curled and styled it and I was pleased when I left. However when I got home I noticed the ends were cut quite blunt but ignored it. Two days later I washed my hair and when I blow dried it I absolutely hated the cut I saw. I never style or curl my hair, so it wasn't the lack of that. Hair was cut at a super blunt angle and did not look good. "Face framing" layers or curtain bangs were also cut at the same angle and looked like 2 clumps of hair on both sides of my face, no layers in sight. Overall, a $100 ($83 plus tip) haircut that was definitely not worth it and would easily go to Chinatown for a better and cheaper one anyday (where I will be going to get it fixed). read more

I decided to take a spontaneous haircut while visiting New York. I've honestly never had a professional haircut before and wasn't sure where to get it until Michelle Choi youtube introduce me to Harueh. I got an appointment on the morning of the day I was leaving New York. I honestly have to say that it was one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I came out on the salon very satisfied. This was an amazing experience! I usually get cheap haircuts that are around 20 dollars but I wanted to treat myself this one time with a nice perm. Kelly was my hair stylist and she did an amazing job making it a very enjoyable time. She was very meticulous and precise with each cut which I appreciated. I also really liked the part where she washed my hair arterwards. It came with a small nice head massage. Her instructions after the cut were also very helpful because it was my first time. I also have the most Korean name ever. When I told her that I understand Korean her face dropped a little and she looked flustered. They pretty much ripped me off. During a call to make an appointment they gave me an estimated price of $40 to do a side down perm. After the service they upcharged me by designating you to a person who charges way more for the same service without notifying you. A side down perm that was supposed to be $40 turned out to be $110 read more

I have nothing but praises for this place, specifically for my stylist, Jason. This was my second time to go to Jason for my hair. First was way back in May for Spring Summer color and cut and it was done very well. I admittedly waited how the layers would be when it grows longer and it settled beautifully! I knew I was going to come back to him the next time. So a week ago, I made another appointment and this was for my Fall and Winter hair cut and color and no pressure at all, but it will be for my upcoming birthday too! Jason checked my hair days prior to my appointment (since I go to Gel Bar too!) and we discussed my preferences. We collaborated on my color ideas but ultimately I told him that he's the expert and I trust him to work his magic. And he did exactly just that! My hair color was lighter in the summer so this time, we agreed on this beautiful deep brown color which will be perfect for the colder months! I love how Jason is so attentive to details, he even told me how the color will turn out eventually, giving me enough information in making a decision. I don't think every stylist delivers this kind of customer service and precision. I love my hair color (which he even offered to perfect further!) and I am in love with my new layers! I asked him to keep the length and he was able to do that while still giving me the layers I wanted! And the side bangs that I wanted was done perfectly! Finally...the ultimate test of course is how your hair looks when it's just left for you to style right? The last few days and especially earlier tonight post my shower at the gym, I cannot believe how flawless my hair looked! From the style, color, quality, texture, it was just flawless and I cannot just take the credit for my proper hair drying! Speaking of which, Jason actually taught me a little secret in drying and styling my side bangs. I had a pleasant first-time experience at Harueh. Considering this is my first time making an appointment at a salon, I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and the entire process was very easy. I'm the type of person that likes to get right to the point, so I'm glad that everything was clear cut. I tell them what I'm looking for, and they give me their professional opinion on what would work best. I only wish that there was an easier way to tip the stylist since I forgot to ask for the Venmo information and they don't seem to have a website where I can find that information either. Price wise, I'd say it's pretty fair as I paid around $100 for a cut that looks clean and professional. In the past I've only went to the local hairdresser that I've known since I was a kid, so I'm more than happy to pay a decent amount for something that looks good. I'll be coming back again, so hopefully the increased business makes up for the forgotten tip. read more

Best haircut I ever had in my entire life. I went to both Jacob and Nicole and they both did a great job. My hair is a bit tricky you see. I have very straight thin hair. And I'm lowkey balding . So my hair is a bit hard to work with and it can look like string cheese if it's not maintained. But both Jacob and Nicole made my hair look great and voluminous. Nicole even gave be a bang perm, looks very natural and nice. This salon can be a bit pricey than what you are used to but it's worth it. You should consider investing in yourself. Just got out of the haircut at Harueh and I haven't been able to stop crying. I know it's just hair but my stylist completely butchered it. I don't remember the stylists name but she argued and tried to convince me that it was my fault that the cut looked the way it did. She knew she gave me a bad haircut but looking at how she acted, it didn't seem like she had any remorse that she's ruined my hair; for at least a couple months until my hair grows out enough to get it fixed. I asked the girl washing my hair if this one part looked awkward and she answered "I don't know" with a smile. That was her polite way of saying "yes, it does indeed look awkward". I would have been fine if there was a bit more human emotion with the employees but all of them seemed unfazed with how visibly upset I was. They just smiled and took my payment. I've actually been to Harueh years ago and loved my cut. From the condition of the salon, it seems that their standards has slipped tremendously. Harueh was recommended by a friend of mine, who comes here regularly. I gave this a try and then I gave a bunch more places a try but I've decided I'm coming back here for my next haircut. I've gotten my hair cut a few times by different people now. I've been quite content each time. Twice by a "director" and the most recent one by someone who was junior. Tbh, I liked the junior stylist the most, and felt she gave me a better haircut. For a men's haircut, they've paid a lot of attention to the details. They also not only cut it and call it a day, but have been able to recommend ways to maintain my hair, and what products I should use as well as telling me which ones I should invest in and which ones I should just use whatever. It's a bit more pricey for my liking ($45-$75 depending on who cuts it, every 3-4 weeks), but my hair is something I have to deal with daily and it stays with me wherever I go, so a bit of investment into it should be fine. read more

Actually I don't remember the terminology they used, but basically (as a guy) they gave me the option to have an intermediate level haircutter at $55 or a more experience haircutter at $60. Of course, since it's only a $5 difference, I went with the $60. I think Jackie cut my hair- she's very friendly and I totally would recommend. In short, the entire experience took maybe 30-35 minutes. I'm pretty satisfied with my haircut right now, though it's only been like two days and I might change my mind. My only issue with this place is that it was a bit too hot when I visited. Granted, maybe they have a policy of not turning the air conditioner on when it's the end of October, but the day I visited the weather was like 18 degrees outside, and it was even warmer inside the store. read more

The place is fairly new compared to k-town staples like Kakaboka, but I find the atmosphere a bit better and stylists a bit younger (which is not a bad thing!) So we didn't have an appointment but they were so accommodating and my boyfriend got his haircut right away, I only waited for 10 minutes which is minimal. Every one is super nice, kind and friendly, and the service was amazing!!!! I ended up getting a haircut and toner. Jackie instantly knew what I wanted after showing her 2 pictures, and the end result looks even better than the picture and more suitable for me!
