We really loved this restaurant. It was our favorite during our recent trip up there. It's a fun space full of character. We had a nice table next to a window. Great service and good food. Definitely try the onion apple soup. It's to die for, and it totally hit the spot after an afternoon of apple picking with the family. For the mains, I had rainbow trout and my husband had the picanha steak. We shared a side of collards. I thought my trout was delicious and the sides (sweet potato mash and green beans) were heavenly. The collards were excellent. There were booked so it was a long dinner. Ordered the sampler app. Was good over all but strange in some of the flavor. It's a good size and could be a meal in of itself. Not sure I would order again but suspect that it's a personal taste preference. Meat loaf was not a good choice. Meat was dry and overcooked. The onion gravy was more of a jam than a gravy. The green beans had sat in a pan too long. They were tasty but no crunch. The server did discount this meal. The trout was a good choice. Same issue with the green beans but a tasty meal. Overall you get a lot of food for the price but hit or miss on the quality of the meal. Ordered but never received a second drink. And asked for some bread with the meal which never showed up. The staff said the people at your table ordered dessert, I mean I would think a restaurant would be prepared for people to order dessert. I wanted to give a four but just cant. 3.5 is probably more accurate. First, the food was good but I was anticipating better. My husband and I both ordered the walleye over potatoes and a vegetable soup. We appreciated that it was different - a combo I've never really experienced before. But it lacked complexity of flavors, so I felt like I could have made it at home. Granted, it was ultra healthy and worked so well for my diet restrictions but again, we anticipated better. I've never commented on a restaurants music selection before but for some reason I feel the need here. It's this rustic, super cool woodsy dining space but they were playing like modern normal music. I don't know, call me weird, but it just didn't fit and felt odd. The service was fantastic and our server was super friendly and attentive. She even brought out bread when she noticed our son was looking starving waiting for our food. Upon paying however, there was some odd fees tacked onto the total bill that you're not made aware of until that point. So basically you have no choice. One for credit card fees, one for inflation, and one for healthcare costs. Say what??!! Now why in the world are these fees that are passed onto the customer especially inflation and healthcare! We unfortunately don't think we'd come back for the reasons above which is unfortunate. I think a few quick fixes and this place could be stellar. read more

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the smoker on the front porch filling the air with simmering smoked chicken. All an anticipation of a great meal. I ordered the rainbow trout with herbed rice and and black bean hummus. The trout was the centerpiece of the dish and cooked perfectly. The rice was cold and tasteless. The hummus wasn't enough for the rice. I rarely give three stars but this meal was the best I could do. If we lived close we would give them another try. We came in with a large bachelorette group (12) and Scott took amazing care of us!!! We were sat downstairs by the bar and it was the perfect spot for our group, tucked away but we were never forgotten about! We all agreed that it was one of the best meals beginning to end that we've had in a very long time! My husband had the kettle soup of the day which was white bean chili and the hot and brown open faced turkey sandwich. The smoke flavor in the turkey was phenomenal. We went twice today, and the bar area, service, and food (Ruben and meatloaf) on the first visit were great. On the second visit, for a quick to-go order, I saw an upstairs bar. Apparently it was the "Chef's Bar." The staff was gracious and a server lead us downstairs to the bar but not before the guest at the Chef's Bar laughed and made a mockery of my mistake. I appreciated most staff and the food, but if the invited chef's guest (26 July, 2025, 6pm) are the company they keep, and allowed a mockery of a simple mistake, I'd rather go back to eating MREs in Afghanistan than share a table with the preferred guest. read more

We were rushed, disregarded and totally not taken care of. The food was point blank away. The shrimp chowder was a watered down veggie soup, the Caesar salad had wired lettuce. The trout wa sap overcooked that if tasted like rough paper and the pork chop was the same. I was extremely excited to go to this restaurant. Unfortunately I was not pleased. Me and my friends had a six o'clock reservation, and they sat us down at six twenty five! Not at the table we were supposed to get, they tried to put us at separate tables (there wasn't just two of us, we were with a group.) Granted, they allowed us to push two tables together. We didn't get waited on and fully settled until six forty five. After we sat down we decided to order a bottle of wine, the waiter came back and said that they were out of wine glasses and gave us all some spare glasses that they had. Afterwards me and my friend Remus decided to split the duck with an additional side of Mac and cheese. (The duck came with a side of Brussels sprouts. My friend wanted a side of Mac and cheese and I wanted the Brussels sprouts, I even made sure that the mac and cheese was separate and that the Brussels sprouts were still with the meal.) When they brought the meal there were no Brussels sprouts! Just one side of Mac and cheese! Awfully gross white Mac and cheese if I do say so myself. And don't get me started on the duck. It was like they sent out someone to go find the fattest duck known to man and slap it on my friends plate, barely cooked (they also didn't ask how we would like it cooked.) The bathrooms were very unclean! The toilet paper selection was very limited. Otherwise we brought the evening together by good conversation and friendship. A must stop when you are in Blue Ridge. The company has been around for years and has a great assortment of apples, maybe 10 or more different types. Not only do they have apples, but they have everything apple! From delicious apple desserts, or various other Georgia grown and local products. The staff is very helpful and wants you to you find what you are looking for. The ground and a tour of the orchard is also provided or available for those that want it. You can walk it or take a tractor ride. Great stop for families!! read more

Update 12/8/21 Just another amazing experience and phenomenal dinner. The "Red and Gold Beat Salad" is simply a medley of wonderful taste explosions in your mouth. Whipped Goat cheese mousse covered with Arugula, candied pecans with a peach Dijon dressing that's out of this world. And what creativity with the Braised Short Rib Ravioli! Just absolutely delicious. Set in a Garden bordelaise, with garlic, pearl onions, spinach topped with shaved Parmesan is a fabulous experience. The chef/owner will personally come to your table to make sure everything is ok. Ask him about your meal. You will see his passion as he gladly tells you about how your meal was prepared and cooked. This was our first time trying Harvest on Main. The food quality was not stellar considering the prices. $8 for a side of mac & cheese that was the size of an ice cream scoop. I ordered the Harvest salad thinking since it was highlighted and had the restaurant name in the title it would be the best salad choice. The salad seemed to have canned peaches rather than anything fresh, and the pecans were almost non-existent. The best part -- after eating part of the salad, I pulled a long hair out of my mouth! When we arrived for our reservation on the patio, which seemed like the prime place to be by the fact it stayed booked consistently, the not-so-friendly hostess pointed to our table and told us to have a seat. The table next to us was serviced by a very attentive and friendly waitress. Service here seems spotty--our waitress was not welcoming, and did not even clear away dirty plates. As tourists, eating is part of the experience--we want to hear about the place we are eating, what they are known for, where they source their food, etc, but there was none of that. She seemed put out by having to take care of us, setting down plates loudly and barely speaking to us. This is a busy restaurant, but I saw more than enough servers to go around. All that I could excuse to someone's bad day if the food was worth it, but it wasn't. We are used to paying high prices for quality food, but my shrimp and grits lacked flavor even with the salt I had to add, and it was an odd consistency. I couldn't even eat the weirdly sweet cornbread. The desserts were small for the price, and not great. My husband's meatloaf was "not bad" but under seasoned. The fresh-out-of-the-oven bread at the beginning of the meal was the best part of the night. When we go out of town, one of our top favorite things to do is trying new restaurants, and we put a lot of research into our choices. We especially love farm to table restaurants that pride themselves on service and source as much as they can locally. Perhaps Blue Ridge is not a culinary destination, and my expectations were too high, but I would not return to Harvest on Main. The top reason was the service. read more
