Looooved the interior at Harvey's. Really nice modern feel to it, and the Christmas decor was really pretty too! More importantly though - really, really, good food! I'm a sucker for salmon, so any time that's on the menu - I'm 100% down for it. And this salmon did not disappoint at all! It was grilled to perfection, seasoned to perfection as well. The glaze on the salmon was perfect. My only con with the dish is that the broccoli came unseasoned. Everything else though, really great! Salad was great too. Dessert was amazing. Peaches were cooked so well, it still had a bite to it but was cooked down perfectly. Brown butter cake was a little too sweet for me, but I'll do the peaches on the side any day. Great Atmosphere & Good Food. Highly Recommend the Broccoli bites and the 1817 Harvey's Ale!! The Prime Rib was too fatty for my taste (see photo), but the other half was delicious. The 16oz was truly only 8-10oz edible. The Ribeye was perfectly cooked and the loaded bake potato was perfect-- asparagus a little cold and not very tasteful. Our server was wonderful and friendly and we were greeted by a manager while we had our lunch. Overall 4 out of 5, we will be back to try much more items! Recommend!! read more

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I was there during happy hour on a Wednesday afternoon and was able to have a quiet relaxing supper sitting outside on the heated porch. Filthy! Twice now I've been served wine in a filthy glass. The servers I'm hoping are just green, but they didn't pay attention to anything. Having to ask for things repeatedly. All of the above was overlooked because the food was good, especially the spinach and artichoke dip. 7-22-21 Thursday Special night out for my dad's 84th Birthday, wanted to try something new other than Longhorn Steak house , since I've been there before. Oh God , I should have gone with my 1st choice which was Longhorn, at least I would have gotten Free Bread . Now let me get down to our waitress, well she had the personality of a rock , I'm not going to say her name due too maybe she was having a bad night , but wait it was only 545 pm so it going to ge along night for her. Now at least at Longhorn , in the past when I've taken my parents for thier birthday dinners and told the waiter/waitresses its a special occasion IE my dad's 84th Birthday, the staff brings a little treat with a candle . Huummmmmm Not her , Damn I should have went to Longhorn. So since my dad is originally from Maryland, and if anyone knows that Maryland is known for Crabs , I ordered the crab cake appetizer, Jeez Louise , another fail , no taste and very very small. Now for The main course my dad ordered the night special Snapper, ( he did enjoy it ) and I had the New York strip steak. The waitress did ask me how I wanted my steak cooked, I told her well done, check out the posted pictures, my steak was far from well done , I'm thinking it was medium rare, I can't really judge medium rare to rare, that's why I always have my steak cooked well done with no pink at all. After we get our appetizer the crab cakes, our salad was brought out to us . Now we didn't see our waitress until until maybe 20 minutes after eating our appetizer and salad. We got more interaction with other staff who weren't even our waitress which I was very surprised. So in conclusion, fancy is not always better, I should have went to Longhorn, at least my dad's 84th birthday would have been memorable at least the staff would have came out with a birthday surprise. We must have been due for a bad experience because I have been going to Harvey's in Columbus for 6 years and I ALWAYS take Family, clients, and more and I have NEVER had a negative experience there before tonight. Family came from out of town and like always, we went to Harvey's for the amazing Prime Rib! I ordered mine Medium well and another in my party ordered it Medium-Rare. Someone, maybe the manager, came out and said "we only have medium prime rib At BEST tonight." I said that is fine, I can do medium with no problem. The member of my party said "so I'm good with medium rare then?" And I said "I believe so. He indicated they couldn't cook it past medium tonight." Well, when the food came, my prime rib was perfect. Maybe a tad bit more cooked than Medium but it was as good as always. The member of my party got his "prime rib" and it was as well done as I have ever seen a piece of meat be. Let the waiter know (who was one of the BEST waiters I have ever had anywhere btw), he takes the prime rib back, and then out comes the 'manager.' He explained to us that he thought I was the only one with a prime rib and we said well I was okay with medium like you said but he had medium rare, his shouldn't have been affected. This person replies "well they took the steak and dipped it for literally two seconds so that's just the color and what it looks like." I guess the 45 years that my party member has eaten steaks didn't educate him enough. It clearly was not "just dipped" and we felt like idiots that the man would try to tell us "that's just how it is." We KNOW our steaks and certainly what goes into the process to cook them. We damn sure know what it is and isn't supposed to look like. After some back and forth which included "we got a bad cut of meat; they overcooked it today," the member of my party just said "I'll take a ribeye I guess, medium rare." Well, out comes what was clearly a New York strip instead of a ribeye. At this point, it was eaten and we wanted to go home quickly. We didn't say anything at that point. The fact that a member would try to tell us, who eat steaks several times a week something so absurd like "that's just how it's cooked" is unacceptable. I have never heard anyone say that in a steak restaurant and it was frankly disappointing. I have never felt so embarrassed by a member of a restaurant before; especially after I have recommended Harvey's, specifically Columbus Harvey's, hundreds of times over the years. Again, I LOVE Harvey's and this is the FIRST time I have ever had a bad experience but overall, there was a different vibe than the last several times I have been in there. Guess I felt it coming on this visit. The bill was north of $150 and absolutely nothing was comped or discounted after the screwup. As someone who has driven thousands of dollars of business to this place, I am livid. PS: If you can cook a steak how we order it, don't act like we're stupid when we call it out for being egregiously wrong, and know what a prime rib is vs. a New York strip, we want to come give you our money! read more

I unashamedly love Harvey's in Columbus. I've had nothing but great experiences at this specific location. Ive eaten here with my husband 2 years in a row for Valentine's Day-- they have a fixed menu with a wine flight every year and it never fails. It seems pricey in comparison to other restaurants in the area, but you do get a salad with most entrees and sides. Honestly-- i'd choose Harvey's over most please to eat here just because service is always good, food is good, and I like the atmosphere. read more

Worst steak ever, and the service wasn't any better. Came in on a cold, rainy Monday night for dinner. Sat at the bar under a torrential wind storm blowing from the HVAC system above. Asked the bartender if there was anyway to dial that back and she just craned her neck basking in the breeze of cool air like a loon would to the sun. When she set a small stack of cocktail napkins in front of me, they blew all over the bar so she dropped a table tent on them. Monday is half price wine bottle night, so I asked to try a cab to see if I wanted to buy the bottle. She said sure and proceeded to pour an entire glass. It wasn't that good, so I guess I dodged a bullet. She then asked if I wanted an appetizer. When I told her no, she chastised me for not making a good decision. After I finished my wine I ordered a Blantons which was the highlight of the evening. I also got the marinated ribeye, as that sounded interesting, with grits and a side salad with blue cheese. The bartender took my order without writing anything down. At the time, I was reasonably impressed, especially after she repeated it back to me. The salad came out quick enough, but the dressing suffocated the greens, way too much. Should have ordered on the side but had no idea they were going to douse the lettuce like a firefighter spreading foam on a chemical fire. My steak came out a bit latter with a beautiful looking baked potato. I was like uhhhh, that's not what I ordered. The couple sitting next to me looked over and exclaimed, I think the steaks got mixed up, as they had ordered the potato and had been given grits. So much for the bartender memorizing the orders! Guess the 4 steps to the register was one too many. Eventually, someone came out of the kitchen and apologized, stating that they were going to redo my steak, too. All the while, the coy bartender didn't say a word to me. She finally asked if I wanted another drink and I requested an Eagle Rare. After another 5 minutes, my new steak came out while the bartender was still trying to find the bourbon (top shelf, middle of the row). I called her off my bourbon quest to save her the trouble of risking her life trying to reach the bottle. Now for the worst part. The steak may have been a good cut of meat, but the soy/ginger marinade rendered it inedible. And the grits did not have any smokey taste to them and were the consistency of playdoh. Upon entering the restaurant, there is an inviting ambiance. It has great seating options, as well. There were not many people there, so we were able to enjoy a nice, quiet -- almost private -- dinner. My date is from Columbus, but moved away a few years ago to Atlanta. I'm originally from Jackson, but moved a few years ago to Arizona, then Georgia. With that in mind, he did warn me that my expectations should not be high. However, I was still disappointed with the food. It was underwhelming, to say the least. He enjoyed his meal -- Delta chicken -- for the most part, despite it being a little bland. I absolutely did not enjoy the shrimp risotto. The fried mushrooms were bland and the soup was just OK. Now the DESSERT?! Amazing. The Jubilee cheesecake was literally to die for. It was on the house for my birthday, so I appreciate management for that. Our waitress gave amazing service! I wish I could remember her name, but before we left, she gave us recommendations on where to go for a nightcap, considering we were from out of town and she was too (I believe she moved here from California for nursing school). If you are looking for a journey of flavor, then dine at Harveys. We started with the Broccoli Bites. Subtle seasoning with hints of onion and creamy mustard compliment the broccoli well. The two main dishes were Lemon Pepper Chicken and Blackened Catfish. YOWSA!! The flavor nearly jumps off the plate with both dishes. Chicken and catfish were very well prepared. Even their salads have meat with no clear substitution for making it vegetarian. for the price of the salads, it's isn't worth it when you get them without meat. A meat substitute for those would be great (tofu, mushrooms, etc). I would love to eat here more, but it's difficult for herbivores.
