Harvey's is absolutely the best restaurant in Columbus, MS. From the quality meats and market fish specials to the wide variety of impressive wines and bourbons, I was extremely impressed. We got the marinated ribeye and the prime rib. The cuts of meat were exceptional and cooked proper to our liking. We ended with a bread pudding which had a warm bourbon sauce and apples, it was amazing. I would recommend Harvey's in Columbus for business meetings, date nights, a quick lunch, they go above and beyond for every occasion. Plus! They offer half priced wine bottles every Monday. Classic old steakhouse ambiance. Not much touch on new decor. Unfortunately it is in all of the Harvey's (Tupelo, Starkville, Columbus). Dark, wood and leather everywhere. I think design was done 20-30 years ago and still keeps same view. Overall all though if you like this style no issues. I like more cozy and little contemporary decor with more white in color. Food wise it is same among three places and it is little above average but if you are in these towns it will be in top 30%. Steak marinated with pineapples! I do not know who came with this idea but not my taste. Burger is ok. Roasted rib eye better. Mac and cheese average. Service is ok no complains or compliments. So where to begin. I ordered the 14 ounce New York strip steak. It cane with about 4 ounces of fat. I ordered it medium and it came between rare and medium rare. Might have been ok with that but it and the grits (which were tasty) arrived warm but not hot. The steak was tough and not flavorful. Not Prime for sure and most likely a lower grade choice. The prime rib was ordered medium rare and was very rare, just warm, and tough. They fact that both arrived in the tepid side was most likely the waitress. Ambiance was decent for the area. read more

We eat at Harveys all the time. It's one of the only consistently decent places to eat in Columbus. My husband always orders the burger. He says it's the best in town. I order the 6 Oz filet and it's always great. The shrimp and grits are also great. Best margarita in town too. read more

Went here for Fathers Day and it's a place I've eaten at several times. Today the service was very subpar and waited over an hour for the food to arrive. My salad never came until I had to ask about it. When the food arrived both mine and my wife's prime rib was way over cooked. (good priced but still $30) Ordered medium rare and it was borderline burnt, came out grey and dry and the server didn't offer any help on the situation. This place is packed! So make sure you make reservations or come early. Appetizers were so delicious we had the spinach artichoke dip and fried broccoli. This review is for the Columbus location. We dined on January 2nd 2023 and our server was phenomenal! He was charming, educated about the menu and very courteous. I would be proud to have him for an employee. In a word exemplary. The food was out of this world. I had the shrimp and grits, with the chicken soup. Our starters were the mozzarella sticks and broccoli balls. The starters were perfectly cooked and the cheese was smooth not a bit squeak. The broccoli balls were cheesy goodness. My soup was buttery and chicken smoothness with big chunks of chicken vegetables and perfect noodles, better than Grandma's. The shrimp were huge and seasoned perfectly with creamy cheese grits served perfectly hot. Upon arrival on Memorial Day, many of the hotel recommendations were closed early. Thankfully Harvey's wasn't and I met up with a small group of friends to grab a beverage and some dinner. We could tell the staff was winding down the night, but they were very accommodating and welcoming despite our holiday evening arrival. Our waiter was more than happy to help us sample a variety of beverages and start us off with a delicious fried green tomatoes appetizer which came with a very rich remoulade sauce. Absolutely loved it! I ordered the fish of the day (a type I was not familiar with...and name now eludes me) which came with grilled asparagus, rice, and a buttered roll. The fish was solid and my accompanying wine made for a great meal. Everyone else was happy with their meal and I would be happy to return to Harvey's and try some of their other dishes based off this experience! read more

My mother and I attended the MS Antiques Roadshow in Columbus today. We didn't eat at the restaurant itself, but they catered this event. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures, but I can say that the food was delicious! We were there early and had more brunch-type items. I had their bread pudding (wow!), chicken and waffles (another wow!), and some kind of quiche...it had smoked ham and cheese and it was incredible! My mother tried their chicken salad crostini as well, and really enjoyed it! All in all, it was great food and the folks who were working the event were really nice! Had a great time at Harveys. The managers are personable and caring. Did not have Moscow mules because they were lacking Ginger Beer but they prepared me a delicious ginger martini. Inside the restaurant is dark and cozy. Harveys has a full bar and TVs by the bar were you can watch the game. If you visit Harveys you must have the Broccoli bites! The broccoli bites are the most delicious appetizer I have had in a long time, the texture, the different ingredients in them and the option of having them with ranch or honey mustard is a plus. In reality the broccoli bites are so good no sauce is actually needed. The ranch is pretty good thou. The Delta chicken was worth the wait, Everything about it was delish, even the bread that was served with it, something about the marinated grilled chicken and the sauce, etc it was WOW! Last I also had the bread pudding with ice cream. The bread pudding is quite a big serving so make sure you are sharing. My husband and I were looking for a local restaurant for dinner during a recent trip to Columbus. We found this place on Yelp. We arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had our choice of a table or a booth. We started with their popular appetizer, the broccoli bites. Very tasty! I had the steak wedge salad and hubby had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. His entree came with a delicious looking house salad. He gave bonus points as the salad was topped with chopped bacon. Both entrees were very good. We shared the brownie sundae for dessert. The waiter was friendly and excellent! The service from the staff person who delivered the food was also excellent. Came here last weekend for Sunday brunch as I was heading back home to Texas. I was in town for an event and came with my family to have brunch. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken and my mouth is still watering as I write this review. It was sooo delicious! It was the most juiciest chicken bursting with sooo much flavor that I think I've ever had. I had the blueberry mimosa because it sounded interesting. I didn't love it, but it was still good. I probably would try something else if I ever come back to Columbus. If I do, I'm definitely eating here again! I gave 1 star short because we had to wait forever and some of the staff seemed a little rude when we would ask how long. There also isn't much of an area to sit and wait or park for that matter. The best meal I had while in Columbus! The shrimp and grits were so dang good! Oh man. I had the crawfish pimiento cheese as well, it was good but nothing that wowed me. I had crawfish chowder with my entree and it was quite good too. I was being indulgent and got cheesecake for dessert. I believe they use local ingredients for their cheesecake and man, was it good! The only real drawback for me was that I had no idea that they had a dedicated curbside area. I was parked for like 15 minutes before I noticed it and nobody in the restaurant called or pointed it out. I honestly don't recall it being mentioned on their website either. We're from way out of town and didn't know what to expect. Very nice atmosphere, terrific service, and great food. We tried what we assumed to be local dishes; grits, catfish, cajun chicken, crawfish cream, mississippi mud cake, etc...not a single dish we did not enjoy.
