Everything about this place screams upscale. The bathroom has a bidet and complimentary floss and hand sanitizer packets. They have a coat check. The ambiance is warm with lots of dimly lit wood and clean lines. It's quiet - no loud music or flashy lights. The service is excellent. Came here for a birthday and they brought out mochi ice cream and lit a candle for us. This is one of the few sushi restaurants in nyc that offer regular service, and not just omakase. Their menu extends a bit beyond what is actually written on the page so be sure to ask if there's a certain cut or fish that you'd like but don't actually see. King Salmon Potato Salad - the salmon was so fresh, they had a bit of light jalapeno in the mix. Light mayo, and roe. Every bite was a delight, honestly. California Roll - quite salty, the rice itself is bland and a bit hard. Unagi Sushi - the eel itself was a bit cold and seemed as if it had been out for a bit. Not horrible, but also nothing amazing. Scottish Salmon Sashimi - an excellent cut of fish. Buttery.

Hasaki sushi in New York -- truly heartfelt omakase, pure taste itself. No more words needed!

We got the $96pp omakase which included an eggplant amuse bouche, 12 pieces of nigiri, an otoro and uni hand roll, clam miso soup, and dessert. The fish was impeccably fresh--each piece melted in the mouth and showcased the finest seasonal selections. The chef's artistry and precision were on full display with every piece. The miso soup was a bit salty but the clams were cooked well. The mango dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place for a great omakase experience!

    Real stuff!!

I love this sushi restaurant. Now on this is one of my favorite sushi restaurant. Very good quality and good service, Traditional Japanese sushi bar counter and not too dark lightings. If you like fusion sushi go somewhere. This one is truly amazing pure Japanese style sushi. They use real wasabi as well. Thanks!!

I am happy the hosted suggested to take a look to seating area in the patio , the seating has a lovely waterfall !

The food was absolutely delicious every bite was full of authentic flavor that made me feel I was in Asia. The ambiance and attention to detail really transported me. I wish I could remember the name of the staff who served us but the service was outstanding , friendly, attentive, and welcoming A truly memorable experience. I will definitely come back.

This place is literally the most underrated sushi omakase in all of Manhattan in terms of service, quality, rarity of choice and also price point And I'm speaking from experience because I've been to Japan over 40 times. I know what's going on. Chef Naotois a son of a Michelin star sushi chef. Nuff said. Arigato!!

I have been to probably 100 different omakases in nyc, and I can say without a doubt this is my favorite. This isn't a cheap foie gras / truffle / a5 overload sushi omakase. Rather, the team is fully focused on their craft. All fish is fresh from Japan and rotates on a daily basis (I went Thursday night and then again on Saturday and a lot of the fish had rotated). A lot of things I had never had and were in season. Staff was incredible - we had four people waiting on us. Restaurant ambiance very nice and clean. Could not recommend this place more!!!!

Absolutely loved this restaurant for my first omakase experience! It was $90 per person, which was pretty good considering how yummy and high quality the experience was. I loved almost every piece (except for the octopus and fatty tuna sushi - for no other reason than texture problems), and left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Our chef was wonderful, kind, and speedy, as was our waiter. But we never felt rushed! The restaurant itself was so nice and calm, I loved the traditional-feeling decor and the ambience overall. We sat at the sushi bar and it was so fun! 10 out of 10, will definitely go back for regular dining and maybe even omakase!

Solid sushi nestled in East Village. Went with friends for omakase and was able to get reservations without much of a struggle. They have an outdoor patio with tables reasonable separated for social distanced dining from other patrons. Ordered the sushi and sashimi omakase. It came out all at once. Fish was fresh, and portion size solid. They also had a good selection of fresh fish, but to keep things simple with my group, we all did the same omakase. The weather was amazing and great to enjoy at the patio. For omakase aficionados, table dining is blasphemy, but its really the only way to roll when you are trying to enjoy it with a group of 4. If you are looking for a more traditional sushi omakase in the area, you wont go wrong here.

Solid sushi bar in the East Village with a great outdoor patio seating option that has barricades between the tables. I would definitely recommend the patio. Just note that the omakase is served all at once given that it is not at the bar. We had the sushi and sashimi dinner and omakase with an additional yellowtail scallion roll. The quality was solid and the rolls had the perfect balance of rice to fish. Overall it's a good option for grabbing sushi - for omakase I do prefer the actual sushi bar option but this is perfectly fine for getting nigiri and rolls.

Came here on a Thursday night as one of my friends was having a strong craving for Uni. We were in the area and this spot was the first place we found that was serving Uni. The Unis, listed as Uni Maine, were listed for $8 each. We ordered quite a handful amount of them. They're served with rice on the bottom and uni on top wrapped in seaweed (assuming you don't know). We also ordered two Sushi & Sashimi Omakase, which went for $75 each. They tasted just as you expected them to taste with no real high expectations for it to be out of the world, although it was quite expensive. The entrees came with Miso Soup and although we only ordered two entrees, we got three soups for each of us. Besides the food, we ordered three different bottles of sake. Don't remember which ones and you can probably guess why. I guess from the amount of money we spent here, the server brought out another bottle on the house. *queue the "i'm in danger" meme. The server was awesome, tolerating how obnoxious we must have been (after a few bottles of course) and playing music from a bluetooth speaker. Hopefully, we helped support a local business in return. How I remembered all of this stuff to write this review is also beyond me.

Went tonight and the sushi was legitimately fresh, like actually fresh, not Midtown-lunch-counter fresh. Yellowtail carpaccio and the salmon tataki were the standouts, clean fish, no fridge taste. This is izakaya food though, so order like it: geso kara, aged tofu, gyoza, repeat. Frozen beer comes with that slushie foam cap they do in Tokyo and it keeps the pint cold to the last sip, which matters when the room is this warm and packed. Service is fast and a little chaotic. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, borderline cheap at lunch. Not a temple of sushi, but for a rowdy basement near Herald Square? Way better than it needs to be. Full by 6pm sharp. The Kimchi Creamy Udon was also flavorful without being too heavy. The Yellowtail Carpaccio was bright and light, fish was neutral tasting. The Okonomiyaki was also good and very hot---we loved to dip pieces in the kimchi cream sauce! Overall we had a great time!

But at last, as I searched on DoorDash I stumbled upon this glorious restaurant they call Izakaya Fuku. I was drawn to the adorable names for their sushi roll dishes like "Strawberry Fields" and their Italian Japanese fusion pasta dishes, "Creamy Mentaiko Bacon Pasta" with creamy mayonnaise, spicy cod roe and bacon like are you kidding me? It's a bummer I wasn't more hunger or that I didn't have more bucks in my wallet because I wanted all these dishes. And the Chirashi Don, god it looks so beautiful the way that it's arranged in the photos online. I finally decided on the carbonara. And I was drawn to the fact that it was udon based. Now, I've just been living in hawaii these past years so that Japanese twist on an Italian dish that I just love oh so much really brought me back to missing the islands and the Asian spins they had on cuisines. Now my food may have not come in a jiffy but for after midnight cravings I'd say it was well worth the wait. And my oh my the portion was huge!!!! I slurped that big boy up. By the looks of the picture the restaurant looks lovely, I'd love to stop there and try it in person. Thank you. Thank you! My belly and my heart are very much satisfied.

Once "dinner" hours comes around, they set out candles on the tables and dim the lights for a different ambiance. The service was a bit off at first, since we waited a while to get our appetizers. This might have been due to the change in staff between lunch and dinner. The hostess noticed and checked on our appetizers, and got them right out. Afterwards, we had different waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. We did the Pick 3 appetizers: -Kyuri (cucumber): love the mix of flavors with the onions, vinegar and salt. The kyuri has a good bite to them -Kimchi Mushroom: the mushrooms also had a good bite to them. Not too spicy of a kimchi sauce, which I liked as it did bot overpower the mushrooms. -Shishito: I enjoyed the saltiness of the kelp with the char of the shishito. I went for the Tsukemen, which I loved at the Brooklyn location. This was just as good! The noodles had a good bite and the right thickness for the rich broth. I like the lemon on the side to help cut some of the richness. The egg is well marinated and perfectly jammy. The Hassaku Grapefruit Juice is a nice non alcoholic option. Very grapefruity and too sweet. We ended with the Tokyo Banana, which had a deliciously bruleed banana. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate and had a little candle on the side. We only put it in the reservation, so it was nice of them to do. Overall, a great ramen spot to check out!

For every entree, you have the option of choosing set A (miso soup with pork and vegetable, potato salad, shredded cabbage) or set B (miso soup and shredded cabbage). There was nothing special about the vegetable and pork soup and potato salad so I would recommend set B.
