I do not understand the love for this place. Maybe because people feel like it's "different." Maybe because I went a week after the place opened and they were still working out the kinks. Let me start out by saying the staff, while not Middle Eastern, are very kind and accommodating. We had no problems with the service. The prices, I felt, were also quite reasonable. The decor was fine. My only complaint here is that if you put hookahs in the window, I will assume you offer hookah. They do not. They are just for "decoration." I take away stars for food only, pretty much. There was nothing wrong with the food. It was clean, hot, etc. It just wasn't very good. The chicken was over cooked, the rice was plain white rice, and anything grilled tasted the same. Everything was under-spiced, and the salad was very plain. I felt the food was missing the normal depth and complexity of Middle Eastern food. Basically, it was nothing that I could not have accomplished at home, and I am no master chef. Basically, it's fine, but I do not like to spend money, calories, and time on "fine." Spend a little extra and go to Turkish Meze around the block for a really good meal. read more

Real deal authentic Turkish / Mediterranean cuisine here... All fish is wild caught, and everything is cooked over a charcoal open flame... What a hidden gem! What a Hidden Gem! This cozy, romantic, traditional nook is absolutely delicious. Their middle eastern dishes are spot on authentic and the wait staff is super attentive and friendly. Excellent take out and delivery (can't wait to try sit down one of these days). One of the few near Eastern restaurants in the area with attentive owners and staff and consistently excellent food. Went here last night for dinner. two families were in their eating with their children but after that the place was dead. I ordered the lamb kefta wrap and my date the chicken shwarma, both had very little meat and tasted heavily of nutmeg but the salad and fries which came with the platter were very nice. The whole experience was not really that bad, I just think they could do a whole lot better with more care and knowledge of the food they are serving! read more

Went here for lunch while visiting my sister. I got the beef schwarma lunch special. It was a lot of food for the money, but nothing was really a standout. I started with the Lentil soup (instead of salad). That was probably the highlight of the meal. A big bowl with crunchy pita chip pieces on the top. Looked more like split pea, but the taste was very good. The beef schwarma was overcooked (not sure how you can overcook something that's roasted in its own fat on a spit, but it was), and the rice was very flavorful but a little dry. The pita was luke-warm, and the hummus was pretty good, but too much oil served with it. The service was very good, I think he was new but very nice and not too over-attentive. read more

Was a nice day so decided to have lunch outside while we were walking around. We were the only customers but there were also only about 3 staff members, so service was still average. Considering they had to bring food all the way from the back to the front, we didn't really mind. We had chicken kofta kabob and chicken thigh kabobs off of the lunch menu. The meat was good, but it was a slight oversalted, along with the rice. The platter also came with a nice thin pita and hummus, delicious. We enjoyed this place and I am looking forward to trying a gyro sandwich next time. read more

Today was my first time there. I love their mint lemonade. The grape leaves are a little different but not bad. The mix platter is delicious. The lamb was exceptionally fresh and well made. This place is epic. I have only ordered delivery, but it arrives sooner than planned and hot, and magically delicious. The Ful Mdamas is incredible, garlicky and soft with excellent bread to dip in. The camel wings don't travel too well but the flavor is complex and the meat is moist and delicious. The Lebanese appetizer platter is excellent. Moroccan cigars are insane and the taboule is fresh, redolent with parsley, garlic and lemon... better than if I made it myself. I ordered stuffed cabbage and lamb tajin with tahini sauce. Neither was very good. There was hardly any sauce on the stuffed cabbage and the meat filling was dry and tasteless. The tajin was pretty tasteless too. I would not order either one again. The side salad was fresh and came with a nice dressing. The sides of rice were a strange texture, although nicely spiced. The service at Hash O'Nash was on the slow side and were out of most of the drinks that we attempted to order. They only had one white wine by the glass that was listed on the menu. We ordered the Vegetarian Trio Platter which was pretty good and the Tabouli which was gross. We mostly ordered kabobs...the shrimp one was very good. Both chicken kabobs were very undercooked (raw and cold in the middle). The fish was not cleaned well and there were scales still on the fish. The Mousakka was not great, but there was a lot of it. The best part of the meal was probably the sides, not the main part of it. Overall, this restaurant was disappointing and not worth the money. How is this place not completely packed every night? We were thrilled to discover this gem shortly after our move to the area (we miss the ethic food options in the city), and they have been lifesavers as we renovate our kitchen! The food is always wonderfully fresh and the menu is varied so there really is something for everyone - plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, too. Our favorites, and regular go-tos are the Lebanese salad, gyro platter, and grilled halumi. When you eat in, you get wonderful house-made picked vegetables to munch on. And the staff is warm and friendly - they will make you feel at home. Take-out/delivery is fast and well packaged. The dining room could be a bit cozier, especially when the bell-dancing starts. I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times and it has always been terrific. But I have also used it to cater several parties related to my professional work. Everything about the transaction was perfect: the delivery was on time, the delivery person was helpful, friendly and professional, the food was wonderful and the portions were so generous we made everyone take things home. We we were all pleasantly surprised tonight. We decided to come to Hash O Nash and I've only visited once before, a few years ago. The gentleman who seated us and took our orders was very sweet and took very good care of us. We ALL really enjoyed our meals. 2 of us had lamb and LOVED it.
