Surprisingly good mandi with an Indian twist. We tried the mutton gravy mandi and it was absolutely amazing. The rice was flavorful and filled with nuts and raisins, which I really liked. For takeaway they give the meat and gravy in a separate container which kept the food from being soggy. The creamy gravy made this mandi a unique experience.

Me and my husband went to have dinner here on a weekday. I was a bit skeptical since they seem more trendy so they can be not so authentic but we were pleasantly surprised. My husband was looking forward to Mandi and Nali Ghosh. The food were amazing and come with large portion. For my Mandi, I was able to eat for 3 meals. I also love the baby corn and mushroom. The restaurant say they are self service but there are server that bring the food to you and clean up the table. You only need to get the utensil by yourself. If you want the floor sitting you would need to go when it is not so busy since everybody want those sitting and there are only a few cabin.

Been here around 3-4 times in the last 3 months with different group of friends, initially tried this place for the hype around. Tried Mandi 3x, the taste was different all 3x, the quality dripping from good to below avg. Folks who are trying for first time, watch out for the creaminess on Mandi. If you are true a Mandi fan, don't try Bahubali Mandi, the shrimp and fish are loaded with bread, which is too bad. The Nallakaram Chicken we tried multiple times, out of all times, 1x was bad with chicken being so hard (probably became dry). Their Falooda is a must try for first time. Most of the items in their menu is only one time try. For Fry piece chicken biryani, after finishing eating, you can see the food color like stuck on your hands, not sure if that is food color or what.

We picked up dinner here on New Year's Day. There was a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating at the restaurant, but it was quite loud inside as the place was fairly busy. We ended up ordering for takeout on this evening, service was sufficient, and it was about a 20-minute wait for our food. We got the hyderabadi mutton curry (spicy), butter chicken (mild), fire naan, and butter naan. The butter chicken dish had pretty sizable chunks of chicken inside, a little too large for my liking and on the dry side. But it was fine as there was plenty of sauce to make up for it. The hyderabadi mutton curry was tasty but not very spicy, even at the highest level of spice. The naan was thin but otherwise of standard quality. Overall, we had a satisfying meal.

First time coming here after hearing good reviews from people. Food: yummy . I found the stew to be a bit too oily. I liked the various flavors of the faloodeh dessert but it was sweet. Service: took time but that was understood since the dishes looked good. Ambiance: so cool and it felt like another world with the wallpapers . I liked seeing the 'jail' section but we were not able to sit there. The section we were sitting in was a 'sit down on the ground' experience. Cool !

Stopped by Hashtag in Milpitas and it was actually pretty good. The chicken mandi and nalli ghost mandi were both flavorful. The garlic gobi was crispy and tasty too, but the nalla karam gobi didn't really hit the mark for me and the pachi mirchi chicken was okay. From the mains, the kaju paneer was decent. I really liked the bullet naan and the goat curry was solid. Few misses but the good stuff really shines!

It's good food, but very specific Telugu taste. So if you like that, you will love this. Otherwise this might not be for you. We ordered the paneer mandi and the mushroom pepper fry. The paneer pieces were quite hard but the mushrooms were perfection. We also got a side of kothu parotta which was good but I would want to order something else next time because they have a super long menu. I have reduced a star because I felt that the food while good didn't seem specifically fresh to me. I think my friend also had a stomach ache but I was fine so can't really complain. The service is more than what they promise. They give you the food even though they call it self service. The ambience is good but not great. It is very clean and tidy though.

Tried Hashtag India Restaurant in Milpitas and honestly loved it! The place has such a fun vibe with their Arabian Mandi-style seating -- perfect for hanging out with friends or family. We ordered a mix of veg and non-veg appetizers -- Punugulu, Cut Mirchi, Hashtag Chicken, Guntur Kodi Vepudu, and everything was so flavorful and crispy! The highlight though was the Bahubali Mandi -- it's massive, delicious, and totally worth the hype. Ended our meal with Kesar Pista Falooda and Choco Caramel Falooda, both super refreshing and the perfect way to finish. The staff was really friendly, and I love that they're open late -- great spot for those late-night cravings!

Was looking for a late snack so decided to drop by this place to try it. Unfortunately met with very poor customer service and dismissive attitude from the guy in the Gap shirt. Wont say his name or offer any information about his manager that I can speak to about my poor experience here. They would rather not sell you anything when I was literally offering to buy a couple of items that most Indian restaurants would gladly sell. Someone who has poor customer service and attitude does not have a business being in front of a register. I walked out without buying anything. Will never come back. Many other options in the area.

Food was good especially the mandi, Place is crowded and it reflects on the ambience. Don't go here expecting a decent ambience. They are cleaning up fast and food is okay so if you are okay with that this is your place. Would want to try their falooda next time

    Paneer Mandi

Tried paneer Mandi, nalla karam chicken, pachi mirchi chicken and some other chicken starter. Loved flavor of Mandi rice. Paneer was juicy and went well along with Mandi rice. All chicken starters were good. Service was good and ambience was decent.

Food: We got 3 platters of goat and lamb for sharing plus some other chicken dishes. The lamb was juicy and fell right off the bone. Butter chicken was very good. Garlic naan had a nice crisp to the edges but still malleable for scooping up food. For dessert, apricot delight. I certainly did not share it with anyone. I was a good amount of creaminess and sweetness to wash off all the spice and aromatics from the main food. Overall, enjoyed our lunch. Ambiance: Place was bright and clean. We experienced the mandi booth. Shoes off before entering the soft padded floor covered by ornate rugs. You can see it in the pics. There were also outlets if you wanted to charge your phone I guess lol it was nice to have a private little spot with the family. Parking: super easy to find parking. We went around lunch time and had no issue. It's shared with other tenants in the plaza but you won't have trouble finding a spot.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hashtag Indian in Milpitas. On two separate visits, I was served chicken that had visible blood inside. The first time, they replaced the plate without much concern. On my second visit, I informed the staff beforehand about what happened previously and specifically requested that the food be properly cooked. The staff member laughed when I mentioned it. When I again found blood inside the chicken, there was no apology, and my request for a refund was denied. Food safety should be taken seriously. I am sharing this so others can make an informed decision. I hope the restaurant improves its cooking standards and customer service.

The Mandi tastes fantastic. Would recommend to go give it a try once; when it's a bit less crowded though.

Lots of pieces with bone in, it was tender and delicious. The staff were so nice in setting the mood for our birthday guests by even playing happy birthday in the background. Traditional low tables invite you to kick off your shoes and settle onto floor cushions, instantly adding a cozy, almost homestyle feel. What We Ordered * Chicken Mandi - A show-stopping platter of fragrant basmati rice crowned with perfectly roasted chicken. The portion is generous (see photo!) and the spice profile leans savory-warm rather than tongue-scorching, so everyone at the table can dig in. * Mutton Curry - I rarely gamble on mutton when eating out, but this one converted me. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, swimming in a rich, slow-cooked gravy that balanced heat with a gentle hint of clove and cardamom. Absolutely outstanding. Service & Pace There's a sign at the entrance: "This is not fast food. Great taste takes time." Believe it. Dishes are cooked to order, so expect a leisurely wait. The staff checks in just enough to keep you updated, and once the platters hit the table you'll agree the patience tax is totally justified. Pro Tips 1. Go with friends--the mandi platter is made for sharing. 2. Weekends mean live music; arrive a bit early if you want prime floor-seat real estate. 3. Plan for 20-30 minutes from order to first bite; use the time to soak in the music and décor. Bottom Line Indian Canteen's mix of Bollywood flair, floor seating, and from-scratch cooking turns dinner into an experience. If you're craving authentic mandi and a mutton curry , mark this spot on your Milpitas food map--and don't forget to bring your patience and your camera.

The food didn't taste fresh, and both, the veg and non-veg curries tasted exactly the same. Overall, nothing stood out--in fact, everything felt overly greasy and underwhelming. Definitely not worth the hype. Disappointing!

I will, however, say that their samosa chaat and vegetable chow mein were delightful! I'm a sucker for Indo-Chinese food, so when I saw chow mein on the menu, I of course had to get some, and man was I glad that I did! The noodles were perfectly thin, the vegetables were grilled to perfection, and the dish had a great variety of textures. The samosa chaat was sensational and very unique. I loved the layering of flavors and textures and the toppings. 10/10 would recommend!

It's a fully self-serve setup--you order and pay at the counter, pick up paper plates, plastic cutlery (which I'm personally not a fan of), and napkins from the front, and once you're done eating, you're expected to clear your table as well. Given all of this, the expectation of tipping feels a bit confusing. That said, we came here for the food--and it truly delivered. My husband is Bengali and was craving authentic Bengali food, so we decided to try this place over the weekend, and we absolutely loved it. We started with the mutton (goat) cutlet and Mughlai paratha. The mutton cutlet was adequately stuffed, fried crispy to perfection, and tasted really good. The Mughlai paratha by itself was just okay, but when paired with the aloo tarkari (potato curry) it became an instant hit. For the main course, we ordered chicken chow mein and Katla fish curry with white rice, and both dishes truly transported us straight to Kolkata. The flavors were incredibly authentic, homely, and comforting--exactly the kind of food you crave when you miss home. I really wanted to try rasgulla, but I was so full that I had to skip it this time. Definitely going back to try more items from the menu--purely for the food. If you're looking for authentic Kolkata flavors and can overlook the basic setup, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
