You can also get draft beer and wine by the glass or bottle! My classic double patty burger was topped with American, grilled onions, bacon, and the Utah staple, fry sauce. The beef blend was flavorful which contrasted with the sweetness from the onions. My tots were tots but elevated with more fry sauce. Staff was friendly and helpful. Saw this place driving by and wanted to try it out. When you first come in, you are greeted with a warm welcome. You order, take a seat and wait until your name is called. They'll either bring you your food or you can meet them at the front. They have indoor seating, outdoor seating and a playground set outside for the kids. I will say the indoor seating was pretty cramped. On to the food! The burgers were delicious, but definitely overpriced. The sauces were just "meh" nothing really stood out to me. Food is good just overpriced in my opinion. The service was okay. The dinning area was not very clean.

Pros: The burgers are decent. The prices are decent. They have a super cute play area for kids. Cons: The sauces are lacking. The sauces are not great (fry sauce, hat sauce, happy sauce). One was too sweet and the other had too stong of a horseradish taste. I was disappointed that they forgot some of the condiments I requested on the side. Also, both burgers was missing grilled onions and grilled jalapenos. I added feta also. I thought they had forgotten that too but I think I might have tasted a crumble on my very last bite. Texas toast? Not a native Texan buuuut I'm pretty sure this doesn't qualify. The "Texas Toast" looked like pan fried Wonder Bread. I have only ever seen Texas Toast that is super thick. It also didn't have that good buttery flavor. I added a pic of the bread...i know my finger isn't a good reference because, for all you know, I could be a giant lol but trust me...this thing is thin. What is happening?! Last week I was only given 5 of the 6 breakfast tacos I ordered and today I just left getting screwed again. It's "Family Night" - originally it was half off burgers, lately they've been doing $2 off Combos and $1 off Kids Meals for Family Night and I'm totally okay with that change EXCEPT that the sign was still up that said those terms and they didn't honor it. I paid FULL price for a chicken combo (because they say it's only for burger combos now) and I didn't get a dollar of my kids' meals bc "we don't do that anymore" - even though the sign is still up on the menu saying that you DO do that still. To my surprise I pulled through the drive through and the employee Marvin was so condescending, dry and rude while corresponding with my order. I'm not sure if it's because I have a large family and it may have been a lot to process however, I didn't feel as if it was customer friendly. For the price point, the food is not recently cooked. The past few times I have been there the fries were not crispy, but old and soggy. While the burger does taste good, the fact that it was made up beforehand and put under a heat lamp makes me question coming to this place. About the only thing I can say about this place is they offer a vegetarian option, but the place is definitely not fresh. Tea is terrible, very watered down. The fries are fresher and the burger does not have a soggy bun at McDonald's, so other than the extra options what justifies the extra price? I think this is going to turn into another one of those Taco Cabana or Schlotzsky's stories... ie where the chain expands too quickly and cuts quality to make up the cost. read more

First things first: The burgers are delicious. It's good enough that we've been back several times hoping that other aspects will have improved. They have not. Each of our visits has been for lunch, except once for breakfast. The breakfast tacos were very bland and the coffee was lukewarm and weak, so we haven't returned for that. All the other times, we've ordered the same thing: Sombrero burger, sweet-potato fries, and a small drink for my husband; Sombrero turkey burger, wrapped in lettuce, sauce on the side, and water for me. NOT ONCE, not a single time, has this order been delivered correctly. Is it that difficult? In addition, the environment is poorly laid-out and chaotic. The giant menu wall upon entry is too big to see up close and there isn't enough room to back up and read the whole thing. There are no longer any small printed menus at the register, so one has to rely on memory. Or google on the phone. The drink/condiment/utensil department causes a traffic jam because of the narrow passage out to the covered patio. The sodas' and other beverages' spigots are always leaking, so if you want water like I do, it's going to contain some amount of pink fruit punch and/or lemonade. The long, narrow tables in the indoor dining room partially block the double doors out to the patio and none of the seating in there has backs. Chairs with backs are very limited on the patio. I like children; however, I don't like them to be unruly, and this is apparently THE place for unruly children because it is always full of them, screaming, running amok, oblivious to their even more oblivious parents. If you're going to dine with someone, let it be someone you know well, because there's no way to have a conversation, be it on the patio or in the dining room. Three times when I have been there, a cheerleading session has been in progress, led by the manager performing yells in front of the cooks and other employees. It's been so loud that I've found it difficult to order. On two of those occasions, I asked them to stop. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of a restaurant doing while customers are present. I want this place to succeed. Heaven knows, we don't need another defunct business leaving behind an empty building. But I think I need to stay away. If I want my lettuce-wrapped Sombrero turkey burger, I'll either go to the drive-thru, check my order for accuracy, and take it to my nice, peaceful home, or I'll get a reasonable facsimile at Fuddruckers. read more

Awesome place!!! I was kinda iffy about stopping here because of some of the comments. But this was a really nice cool little place. Most of the people by the time we got there were out with their kids in the little play area. Which also had blowing heat which must be nice so you can actually stay there with your kids. The menu at the door was well spaced out and had different sections so it was easy to see the selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got the chicken sandwich with onion and Swiss cheese. My hubby got a bacon cheddar chicken sandwich. We both got drinks. And we ordered one fry and one fried pickle to share. For both of us to share filled us up just enough!!! The food was great. And I love seasoned fries and the ones we got were too and I enjoyed those. The only thing I would say maybe they could change would be how close the tables are. I love the one side bench seating and the other side chairs. But for the people on the bench side there isn't enough room to put your leg through the tables to sit down. You have to sit and lift your leg up and over on the bench side. Some people may not be able to do that. All in all I was pleased. Our food came to be a little bit under 30$ but the food and atmosphere and people were great. The food here is good, and you're going to pay a premium for it. The play area is outdoor so it is not good for the June-Sept season. My son loves play areas and would not step foot in it in August. They have a really small seating area inside and a larger one outside that is covered but wasn't enclosed with A/C so we had to eat in a rush and leave right after eating. I think if the seating areas were enclosed and temperature controlled, it would be a much better experience. read more

This past Sunday, August 11, we thought we give this new place a go. We are hamburger fans of Whataburger and 5 Guys for sure so a new unique choice was welcomed. Hat Creek was a major disappointment. Our burgers were way overcooked, dry and tasteless. We only live blocks from this place and took our order home only to throw away both of burgers as inedible. What a complete waste of 20 bucks. We will not give it a second chance as the previously mentioned places have a better product more competitively priced...and delicious. What a shame. I don't see this joint withstanding the test of time. I feel sorry for the new owner or investors. Lastly, this is Houston and about 70% is outdoors. Sunday it was over 100 degrees. Tried Hat Creek today for the first time and it was really good. I liked the fry sauce. It reminds me a little of chick Fil a sauce. What is holding them back is price. It was almost $33 for 2 of us to have a burger, fries, and a drink. I would be a much more frequent visitor around the $10/person range. They get you with everything being separate. There are no meal options and everything adds up. If you want cheese then it was an extra $.79. The inside is nice and peaceful and they have a nice playground area for the kids. It's funny how a lot of people are complaining about the large outdoor area, yet The Shack in Cypress is majority outside and they have 1000 reviews and no one mentions the heat factor on their page. read more

Haven't eaten all day and wanted a burger that was close by. This place has been open for a couple of weeks now and I wanted to try it out. Majority of the seating in the place is practically outside coupled with a jungle gym for the kids. I came with my mom and we sat outside but it wasn't hot since we came at night and they had fans blowing so it felt nice out and didn't mind sitting outside. I had gotten the sombrero burger and my mom who wasn't really hungry gotten a kids meal in which we got a slider, Tater tots, and a chocolate milkshake. The bill came out to be around $17 to $18. The wait wasn't long considering the place had a good amount of people there. They brought the food to us and I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. We tried some of the different sauces they offered and let's just say some hit the mark and some didn't. The food was a 4/5 you could tell the meat was fresh and had a good flavor.the burger was doubled patty with pretty thick bread the yellowbird sauce was good and spicy and I have a pretty high tolerance. The tater tots were hot and crispy and the milkshake was almost if not better than Wendy chocolate frosty. It was so thick you could barley get it up the straw.
