Awesome !! You hear other patrons commenting on how the food tastes like back home. All the BBQ dishes are delicious and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Lamb tonight. The Lamb Shank was so tender it melted in my mouth and enough for two. You can always change the rice options so pay close attention and try something new. If you like a sweeter dish with a little different flavor try the Frezenjan. Thank you Tino for awesome service. We will always return so maybe I'll see you there. read more

Came here with my friend on 1/31 (party of 2) and when given the bill I was handed only one receipt. When I asked for the other it was shown the server had already given herself a tip and handed me a blank receipt anticipating another one in addition. Downright good Persian food. Since my Wife n Me were staying at the Peppertree Hotel in the same parking lot, we wanted to try it. Yeah, hands down the most tasty kabobs, and saffron rice. I don't know where this place just came from but where have yall been? Since they have opened I always hit my wife up to go eat here. We both work in Anaheim and it's been a great spot to come have dinner on a Friday after work. read more

A patient had brought us food from here one day and it was so good I just had to come back. The salad was one of the best, that was the thing bringing me back the most. Reminded me of ceviche with the lemon juice and vegetables mixed together. Will be coming back to try other things! Have not been dissatisfied with any of their options read more

I was visiting from New York and had Invited my family in California for dinner. I had a wonderful time!!! So glad I brought them here. The food was delicious and even better the prices were very fair. Took 15 people to dinner and didn't break the bank. The manager was very accommodating and they made me feel at home. Come here alone or with a group , it was great !! One small note, I am a huge dessert guy, the baklava was nothing special, I reccomend getting something more homemade or better. Not a big deal though. Thanks again from New York and hope to see you next time I come in!! read more

I went to Hatam Restaurant with a few other people, and we ordered a few dishes family style. I haven't had Persian food very many times, but I really enjoyed this meal. I tried some of the boneless chicken kabob, which I though was tasty. But the winning item was definitely the Chicken Koobideh. It was so juicy and flavorful - I probably ate more than my fair share... I also tried the basmati rice with saffron, as well as the Zereshk Polo (basmati rice with barberries). Both were really good, though I liked the extra flavor that the barberries added. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some good Persian food. read more

I got the sabzi and gheimeh and it tasted good, the lady who I talked to was extremely friendly gave me samples of everything which was very kind. The total came out to about 20 dollars for these two entrees and though they were nice and the flavor. However, when I arrived home with my two "stews", it was about 60-70 percent meat. If I wanted that much meat I would've gotten a kabob. In addition, I have no idea if the sabzi or gheimeh was either really terrible meat, high in salt, or high in oil, But I feel almost sick after eating this food. read more

We returned here and found that they have a new location! It's a nice place and the staff here are very friendly. We had traveled on the day that I came in to pick up a to-go order so I was tired and thought I had already paid online (got it mixed up with a second order we were picking up!), but the woman helping me was understanding and very kind so I didn't feel too embarrassed about it! We ordered several dishes including koobideh, joojeh, and barg. The cost was reasonable and the food lasted us all week while we were visiting the area. read more

Tucked behind a gasoline station, this place is literally a hidden gem. I ordered the Lamb Shank with dill & lima beans rice. It's a huge portion. The shank is tender and not gamy tasting and the sauce was flavorful. I highly recommend this dish. For dessert, I tried the Persian ice cream and faloodeh combo. I'm not used to rosewater flavor so I didn't really care for it however it was a refreshing dessert after a big meal of meat and rice! I will be back to try the stews. read more

Overall an average Persian restaurant. Plenty of space and sitting area. The service is on time but the servers are not very attentive. Perhaps a bit complacent but they remained polite and pleasant. Food arrived warm and the taste was just ok but nothing to write about. We had "tahdig" crusty rice and two Persian stews as a starter. The crispy rice way tuff and could real hurt your teeth if not careful. The kabob koobideh and the jooje-kebab (chicken chunks) were again just average. For a neighborhood family restaurant is a ok place, but not a destination. Also, I wish the place either used real saffron or didn't use it at all. The imitation colored rice is the wrong thing to do!!! read more

I love this restaurant! Every time I visit my parents, we order from here because they enjoy their food so much. Our favorites are the kabab koobideh combo, tahdig, the fesenjoon stew (it's a pomegranate and walnut based stew that is so well done here). It's a good idea to get a side of Mast-o khiar (cucumber based) or Mast-o-moosir (shallot based). The food is authentically Persian like it was made meticulously at home by your mom. (If you're Persian then you know the best dishes are made at home). I definitely recommend this place! read more

They served my food in literally 5 mins after I have ordered my food and the lady was wanting to serve my food quickly it's disgusting. I don't plan on coming back. NEVER. I just got really sick after eating from here. And what's really strange is they asked me if I was okay after eating half way my food. They are jealous people. I don't plan on ever visiting your restaurant again. Leave us alone!!! I don't consider these people relatives at all. I don't plan on coming back to this place. what kind of people are you?? I have been coming to Hatam my entire life and my dad knows the owner. My family of 20 people came to dinner a couple days ago and we ALL got the worst sickness of our lives. All 20 of us have diarrhea and been vomiting nonstop since we ate at Hatam. Several of my family members have had to go to the hospital or call 911 due to the the severe food poisoning or norovirus. It could've been from unwashed hands, sick employees, rotten or uncooked food, etc. It is no coincidence that all 20 of us got the same sickness right after eating here. My family and I have all been bedridden for 2 days, barely being able to get up to use the bathroom. We can't even keep down water or any liquids. We immediately throw up any medication we take. Our group ranged from very young children to my very old grandmother. It has been a terrifying experience. Furthermore, My dad called the owner to complain and he very rudely denied any wrongdoing. How is it possible for all 20 of us to get food poisoning or norovirus any other way?? We met up at the restaurant and the only food we had in common was this restaurant. The owner is refusing to take any accountability and refuses to investigate the unhygienic and disgusting actions clearly going on in his own restaurant. We will be contacting the local health department and asking to start an investigation immediately. Again, my family and I have been coming here our ENTIRE lives so the decrease in quality is shocking. TRUST ME, STAY FAR AWAY!!!! It's not worth the torture. I wouldn't wish this sickness on my worst enemy. Truly the WORST thing I have ever been through. read more

Food is really good. The only critique I would have is the windows need cleaning. I came back again for kabobs, and the front windows, glass doors are still dirty. Not a great look for a restaurant, just saying. Maybe look into a service that comes by every day to clean them? read more

Traveled through the area going back to North Cal. We stopped to eat based on the reviews . The place was busy and once we sat we waited for about 20 minutes without menu we were rushed to order . So based in most reviews we ordered beef Kebede and chicken skewer on rice adding an ash rishte the soup , but when the order came was ground chicken so when we told the lady that we wanted the chicken pieces she told me "No you ordered that" then Walked away rudely . Came back after we were finished with our plates already without soup still . But when the bell came of course was on it plus a 15% service charge already . The beef kebede was little dry but the chicken skewer was under cooked and lacked flavor . We won't be coming back . Not recommended read more

I've been coming to Hatam for many years. It was recommended to my family from a cousin that lives in Fullerton. She would bring us food from there whenever she was visiting us. My mom really loved it, but I (at the time) was not crazy about it like my mom was. Boy, I didn't know what I was missing! I went there several times with my parents and I began loving it more and more. Now that I have my own family, they love it as well. I still take my mom there for her birthday every year, but I come here without having a special occasion. I especially LOVE their adas polo rice. I've tried making it myself but it never comes out as delicious as theirs, it's the best!!! Their chicken kabobs and beef kabobs are scrumptious! read more

This spot was good, not one of my favorites but still good to get my fix for Persian food!! Because I just love Koobidhed, I got that in beef!! Which comes with the rice and two small tomatoes. I'm not sure if it was the meet or rice but it was a little more bland then what I'm use to but still not horrible!!! I will definitely be back to try the Lamb Shank! Other then that... the service was good!! Everyone was very friendly and they had speedy service. read more

Hands down the best Persian restaurant in Orange County. They are particularly great for catering, from house parties to weddings. Recently catered with them for a 75-person house party and everyone loved the kabobs. They delivered the plates, utensils, and heating equipment as well for a very reasonable fee. read more

We selected this restaurant based on the stars here, we ordered fish, koobideh and chicken and almost all were bad, the quality was poor, specially the quality of rice. I do not know if the chef changed or something, it is not normal for Persian food to bee that off. read more

Literally the best Persian food place in Anaheim!! The owners and staff are so friendly and kind. My friends and I were craving some homely food and came here and our taste buds were blown away with how good the food tasted! My name is Hossein Rajab but many call me Mr. Hatam. In 1990, my brother and I opened Hatam Restaurant to introduce the community to a true Persian Cuisine. A little hard to find even when your GPS Nav System says "You've arrived at your destination."…read more I arrived at a Jewelry Store, and eventually saw a sign the size of a recipe card "Kabaji Grill" with a small arrow pointing down an alley. Take a right and right there, on your right is Kabaji Grill, right? Right. Pass through a glassed in patio with many tables from which you can watch the odd scruffy local watching your car. Eventually, the patio will fill with hungry people and a haze of Hookah smoke. I checked in with the Hostee and waited for her to make eye contact. She was polite but flirting with being curt. She looked up from her Cell and waited for me to speak. "I've come to eat here." Without a word she bid me to follow her and I did. She stopped at a table in the rear dining room and her chin motioned me to sit. I sat. "Ready to order?" she asked as soon as my butt nestled onto the chair. "I am waiting for someone." I replied. She nodded and floated back to her podium like a ballerina on skates. A few minutes later she returned. "Are you ready to order?" "I am waiting for someone." Off she sashayed. I inspected my surroundings. The Table cloth had a mosaic of spots where food had landed due to prior enthusiastic dining. Half the spots found the chairs. Okay, four enthusiastic diners. Turning attention to the menu my guest texted "I am hopelessly lost." The menu displayed a note, noting that the Full Menu was in transition and would be available soon, just not for me. But there is plenty to choose from any way. Much of the Menu is written in phonetic Arabic. You might consider a crash Babbel Course to hit the chair "ready to order." A music loop suddenly invaded my harmony. The Middle Eastern music would have been better suited for enhanced interrogation. But then it is a Middle Eastern resto so its appropriate. I embraced the loop which set the tone for dining well in Beirut when Beirut was the Paris of the Middle East. The Staff: Fadwa. Yes, Fadwa. Not to be confused with Fatwa. She was a delight in a spotless Kabaji Grill Tee Shirt. A smile to light up the room. She was helpful, ready with a suggestion, and it was apparent she enjoyed caring for her quests like a mother hen. No one can say Fadwa was a bad Ma. Having her guests enjoy their dinner here was her primary mission. She succeeded. Initially I thought the food was seriously Syrian instead of lovely Lebanese, which it is. The Food: Mumtaz! My guest staggered in with the Hostee who asked, need I say it? "Ready to order?" The first item out of the kitchen was a mound of terrific Taboulleh as large as a football helmet. It was dressed with quality Olive Oil and Lemon. This was easily the best Taboulleh I have ever had and worth having chopped Parsley work it's way between every tooth. A basket of fresh baked Pita showed up shortly and was a perfect platform to enjoy the entire meal. Next came the Shish Tawook (Chicken Kebob) right from the Grill. A roasted Onion, Tomato and a Jalapeno as big as Shaq's thumb graced the plate in addition to excellent Garlic Sauce and Shatta (Hot Sauce). A cup of sliced Cornichon was a welcome addition. Stuff a Pita with everything you can reach. The Pita is sturdy enough to handle it. The Chicken Nuggets were devoid of grease and/or fat. They were all tender, moist, juicy and piquant. What else could you want? Peace in the Levant? How about starting with this Shish Tawook? Peace will come. If everyone involved had this to eat, peace would come quicker. I was truly delicious. So, let's see, oh gee, I'm coming back to Kababji as soon as finish the leftovers I took home.

We were given large plastic plates and dirty forks while the table next to us received nice plates, napkins, and full utensils. We had to ask for knives and still did not get them. Our food came out with no bread and no knives. We waited and waited. When bread finally came it was cold. The food itself was also cold. They gave us only two knives for the entire table and no serving spoons. We were using small forks to serve salad and rice to each other. The shareable meal is advertised as feeding five people, but what we received was nowhere near enough. The portions were very small, especially the sides. To make it worse, the table next to us ordered the exact same meal and was given dips and warm house made bread. We were given cold store bought bread instead. After giving the staff the sheet, it took about 10 minutes to get all of our skewers. Prior to the skewers, the sides are given out first. For skewers, we got the marinated beef, beef and pineapple, and pork belly. We also got an order of the cold noodle, which ended up pairing well with the skewers. The quality of the skewers is equivalent to the Monterey park location! I'll probably skip out on the beef and pineapple one for a future visit and lean towards the other flavors. The service was okay. They seemed to be understaffed at the time so we needed to find the staff to ask additional sides and the check; they didn't check up on us.
