My husband and I were in Seattle for a couple of days prior to leaving on a cruise. When we arrived at our hotel they suggested Hatch Cantina. From the second we arrived the owner was friendly and accommodating. He talked with us for a bit and then sent over our server. I ordered a margarita and it was TERRIFIC! We then ordered our dinner plus some queso for an appetizer. When it came we were blown away it was so delicious and so different. We loved it!! My husband also ordered a beef burrito and he said it was the best he ever had! I hope someday to get back to Seattle and if we do we will definitely be going to Hatch Cantina for another meal! read more

My brother and I stopped by on a whim. The decor and ambiance are casual and appealing. The menu has some interesting options. The owner Jason, is the BEST! I think they were having an off day which happens to the best of us, but Jason kept the energy and the vibe going - his smile did not falter. AWFUL!!! The bartender/ server was so rude from the moment we walked in, I could tell he treated me and my friends different because we are younger. He was a white male with brown hair and glasses. He proceed to ignore our table when we ordered more guacamole and he said "you know thats extra" and walked away and never brought it to us. He also made my friend a really GROSS drink that was undrinkable, and tasted like rubber. We told him and he looked at us and said "ok" not even offering to make us another one. The food was nasty, and tasted like shitty frozen bar food. The establishment also looked really dirty. Don't recommend, save your money and go elsewhere, I will not be back ever!! read more

After seeing this restaurant promoted so much on social media and even the amazing reviews on yelp, I was really excited to try out Hatch Cantina. First off, the interior is cute and nicely decorated. When we went, the restaurant was empty, and what I found strange is that although there was literally no one there, the waitress seated the guests that came after us right next to us which was awkward since the whole place was empty and we could hear each other's conversations. Also if you're only serving two parties I would expect service to be better? Didn't ask us if we had been there before or what dishes to order and when we were finished we waited around for 10 minutes before she came over to check on us. Service wasn't terrible by any means but I guess considering that she only had two tables it could have been better. The salsa dishes on the table were dirty and had a thick hair on it which wasn't appetizing to see. The dishes were just average...there are better mexican (yes even tex mex) casual restaurants or food trucks with better prices and food that actually blows you away. Neither the beef taco, quesadilla or popcorn chicken was genuinely tasty and something I felt like I had never had before. Overall just paid $15+ for each completely average dish. read more

Hatch had been on our list to try and it did not disappoint! Everything we had (popcorn chicken, quesadilla with chicken) was very good and the green chili and pork was a standout! ‼drinks were good, so I'm saying that at the top of the review. Well they were strong, not tasty, but got the job done. However, that was the only upside to this place. I went on May 29, a Saturday night, looking for a bar to unwind and have some fun but found an empty bar and empty restaurant. We took a seat because another couple convinced us to join them. The waitress was somewhat kind at first but seemed just annoyed of being there and uninterested in the patrons. She asked forced questions to make some connection but it was obvious she didn't care. I asked if I could have a mojito, and she said, "No, sorry", without even looking up at me. I was almost waiting for her to laugh and say "just kidding", but she didn't. Now I don't have a problem with her denying me the drink I wanted. She explained they didn't have mint to muddle. That's fine! I've been to bars before that said they weren't serving mojitos because they didn't have mint. But it's how you say it, it's how you talk to your customers. Immediately after that, I ordered my one drink and started looking up nearby places to go after. The couple next to us who encouraged us to try the place out asked us to try their salsa that came with their guac and chips. They said it tasted weird and wanted our opinion. I grabbed a chip and dipped it in the brownish salsa and tasted it. It has a weird aftertaste. The couple said they thought it had something smoked in it, but I just think it tasted bad. Besides the 4 of us at the bar, there were probably 5 other people in the establishment. The whole restaurant section was closed off and they said they had just opened on May 5. Pretty sad for a Saturday night. My overall experience was depressing. It seems disingenuous and the staff aren't that friendly. If you want 1 drink to get you buzzed, this is your place but don't try the food here and don't expect good service either. read more

The Pork Shoulder Burrito was wonderful, as was the Green Chili Burger. The Chile Cheese Cornbread was creative and unique with the cotija crisps. The side sauces were a highlight too with great flavor; the crispy hatch chili topping alone is worth a trip back often. Service was friendly and attentive. I visited for the first time and it was an amazing experience from top to bottom - I would highly recommend taking a visit to this restaurant. The attention to detail from food to service is outstanding. The corn bread was amazing and the tacos were some of the best I have had and the staff there took pride in making sure we had a positive experience. They were excited about their food which makes a lot of sense because it is so tasty. We had the corn bread and the carnitas tacos and I will definitely be coming back for more. First time in as it's a new establishment and it was amazing! The drinks were on point but the food...look, I've never had a quesadilla that was this good. We got one with the carnitas and they were as they should be (crispy but also tender), I'm not entirely sure quesadillas are supposed to be this good. About five months ago I had dinner at Hatch and ordered their cheeseburger ($17). It was big a delicious. Today i had lunch and ordered the same burger: the meat was half of what the first burger was. I ordered it not sloppy and what I gor was a mushy burger and the bun just fell apart. I have never found a restaurant that serves authentic New Mexico food made with Hatch Green Chili. The Food was absolutely AMAZING & fulfilling!! You have to try the Beef Colorado Chili burrito and for the appetizer the Hatch Green Chili fries. The owner Jason, the staff & the cooks we all wonderful. Where do I begin... I'm with good friends at the moment that I first came in here. I was so thankful for the fact that it gave me a sense of home and belonging. 50% of Belltown restaurants are hit or miss with this one made me feel like I was welcome. It doesn't matter if it's the owners, the bartenders, or the servers have always got the best service whenever I've come in here. So I'm sure, there are things that I'm not sure that I have liked but with a quick adjustment they were ready to appease any of my peaceful delicacies. Not only is Hatch Cantina probably one of the best things that has happened to Belltown in a long time, but everyone who walks in and out of here and that feeling like they've come home again. The hatch cantina can't be beat and whether it's the chef or the chef on duty, it's one of the best things on the menu! A huge thank you to Zach, the bartender and the rest of the team for everything they do every day!
