The closest to tasting Japan, but in Vegas! Until we can physically get there, we would come here all the time but don't live here. Can you open one in San Diego? !!! Also everyone was so nice, customer service was lovely. The inside has a clean, natural Japanese aesthetic. Real matcha. Just how we like it. Of course it's going to be "grassier" because it's legit, made correctly (it's like a science) and not full of added syrups and sugars. Everything just tastes exactly like it should--no additives. We got 1 Matcha latte w/oatmilk, matcha ice cream, rice balls, and 1 Matcha w/salted cream top & matcha ice cream. FIRE!

I am pretty new to the matcha game but the few that I've had have been really sweet and not that great. I heard this place is authentic as it gets. This place is originally from Kyoto, Japan so it has to be great. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and she explained the menu. We got the salted cream matcha, matcha shake with matcha whip cream and original matcha with raw cane sugar. You ask, were they good and the answer...Absolutely. Holy moly they were all really good. I was told that matcha should have an earthy or nutty flavors and should not be too sweet. Mine was earthy with just a hint of sweetness. It was perfect and what matcha should taste like. The process is so beautifully made. It really is an authentic experience.

The flavors and vibe are a copy and paste from Japan. But where I think they fall is the price point vs size. The promotional sundae matcha drink can rack up quickly to $11-14 if you get all the toppings in the picture. Then you get given a small drink. Drink size is technically perfect and reminiscent of Japan, but for the price it ends up feeling severely overpriced (also considering that the price of this same item in Japan would probably be a fraction of the price, making it more worth it) Service is friendly and helpful, they take the time to give you a good experience. Lots of parking available. I did go back when it was first opened in the first 2 months, not sure if the hype and line have died down but when I went the line wrapped around the side of the building, taking maybe 40-45min to get to the register. I would probably not come back since there's many other matcha options available where I could get a bit more volume for a less price, but still quality drink

Yelp Review 2026 #51: All these reviews with 3 stars and under with "I've been to the one in Japan" comments - in this day and age, who hasn't?!? LOL. That doesn't make anyone an expert or connoisseur! I've been to Japan multiple times. I love matcha. My favorite matcha cafe/ shop is in Uji. Hatoya in Tokyo is great too. And I'm simply happy we have Hatoya in Vegas. I'm paying for the convenience of getting good matcha without having to book a flight to Japan and flying for hours. I can just hop in my car and drive to Chinatown. It's asinine to expect the same menu items from Japan vs the Vegas menu. Good quality matcha doesn't require frou frou. It's best enjoyed in its simplest form. No distractions from cold foams and what not. I love that they stay true to Japanese matcha preparation. Made to order, whisking with a chasen by hand, temperature controlled, vibrant green matcha powder, earthy leafy taste, nothing rushed. Their menu is simple and that's a good thing. You start with a base drink (4 types of matcha, hojicha, black tea) or just finish with that and no additional stuff. You can add sweetener of your choice (simple syrup, brown sugar syrup, fruity syrup), shiratama dango (mochi balls), matcha cream, matcha/ hojicha ice cream. The space is small. Parking spaces limited. You're meant to take your drink to-go. The staff is nice and pleasant. If you're expecting to pay $6-8 for matcha, if you want your drink ready within 5 minutes, if you want a place to chill with your friends, if you want a cafe to read a book/ study/ rot for hours at - this is not the place for you. I want Hatoya to stay in Vegas for good so "experts", please don't ruin it for us.

Parking: located in a strip mall with parking lot in front of restaurant Service: take out Ambiance: causal, cozy Food: a chain from Japan known for their matcha offerings. Hatoya has an earthy matcha on the less sweet side (my preference) and curate the experience by doing a pour in front of you. The picturesque drink complete with a scoop of their matcha ice cream and "mochi balls." A bit pricey, but for an upscale cafe experience.

E X P E R I E N C E Incredible. Interior was sooo clean. Well kept. So aesthetically pleasing. F O O D Original matcha latte: the mochi was hard - meh. The matcha flavor was SO STRONG. It was incredible. Theyre very generous w the matcha dose. The flavors were balanced well. The ice cream was so creamy and yummy. S E R V I C E Nick, the one at the register, provided very impressive service. He was passionate and knowledgeable about matcha and food. He didnt pressure me, just gave me recs as i asked. Conversation flowed comfortably. Natural, genuine at sales. He was attentive towards other customers as well. Edward and Ariel were also great! Kind. P R I C E Yes, pricey but its what you expect for high quality matcha

I know a lot of people have a lot of beef with this place only because of its price point, and I will agree that it definitely is on the pricier side for matcha. But it's one of those places where you pay for what you get. The quality of the matcha itself is one of the best I've ever had. I know it might not convince a lot of people who can just go down the street and get it for a lot cheaper, but the quality itself is on point! As for the staff, they seem very attentive when it comes to whisking the matcha and it's quite similar to what I experienced in Japan. They definitely take their time making these drinks and you can see that just by being there. On another note, the place is quite nice, aesthetically. Very grounded and earthy, just like matcha lol. However, I would not recommend this place for a casual hangout. It's quite small inside and it's more of a grab n' go.

finally trying the ever so popular hatoya matcha! the only other locations are in japan so it was a must when i came to visit. line wasn't too long when i arrived but was pretty long when i left. inside is smaller but they have seats where you can wait for your drink to be made. a little stuffy after your order number is called, they whisk and pour your matcha over your drinks. i liked how they let you have your photo/video moments :) make sure to add sweetness to your drinks!! it doesn't come with it normally. of the 3 we liked the shake the most. it had the most flavor i felt like the drinks were lacking flavor and the consistency wasn't what i was looking for. i do prefer my drinks on the sweeter side so i asked for more sugar in my drink and they were nice enough to give me some :)

I was excited to try this place while I visited the strip in Las Vegas. We ubered here for only $15 from the strip. There was no line and the cashier was able to give us a thorough rundown of the menu so we could make an educated decision. I ordered the joyo3 matcha latte with matcha whipped cream which somehow came out to $16! Most expensive matcha I've ever had. They called me up and asked if I wanted to take a video and I said no but it was cool to watch. They forgot my whipped cream so I had to remind them. The drink tasted amazing with very rich and high quality matcha and a beautiful green color but I wish I could have mixed it before the whip cream since it was impossible to mix with the whipped cream on top of the drink. The seating is extremely limited, only a few benches and side tables. There was a bathroom at least which was convenient.

Hatoya is an amazing matcha shop located on Spring Mountain and Jones near Mala Town. There's good parking. Grand opening was on March 27, 2026. Inside is a cozy atmosphere with a few seating and relaxing music playing awesome R&B. Menu offers a nice selection of matcha, latte, tea, hojicha, ice cream, shake, and pudding. I ordered Straight Matcha (Original Matcha, $6), super refreshing! Matcha is freshly made upon order. The owner Edward did a wonderful job demonstrating how matcha drink is prepared, he showed the process step-by-step, and it's a very nice presentation to see in action! Also tried Matcha Pudding ($5.50), absolutely delightful! It's a small cup with creamy milk pudding topped with delicious matcha, very light and not too sweet, I love it! They have Hojicha ice cream too! I tried Hojicha on the side (1 small scoop, $4.50), such a lovely sweetness, creamy smooth, and splendid! Service from Ariel, Edward, Sala, and Bea is very kind, welcoming, attentive, helpful, and friendly! I'm excited to try Joyo3 Matcha next, it's one of their biggest seller, and Matcha Latte with shiratama (sticky rice ball) and ice cream matcha sounds YUM!

For matcha lovers, it's exciting to see this popular matcha brand from Kyoto, Japan open its first location in the U.S.. It's located on the corner of a little shopping plaza in Chinatown. They've only been open about a month and apparently the line can get long but it was pleasantly not busy on a Sunday afternoon. The inside is small with just a few tables. It's set up so you can watch them whisking the matcha drinks right in front of you. They take their time making the drinks and answering questions while taking orders, so I can see why a line can form sometimes. I tried an Iced Original Matcha Latte ($8) with strawberry puree ($1.50). I was tempted to add a scoop of matcha ice cream but I couldn't bring myself to pay almost $15 for a latte. My drink was well made though and the matcha flavor really shined. The strawberry syrup is made fresh in-house and is more of a puree. It added a nice sweetness but I would've liked the flavor to come through a little bit more. If you're wanting an authentic matcha experience without having to go to Japan, this is your spot.

I have been here three times and can confidently say this is the best matcha spot in town for an authentic matcha experience. Hatoya brought their high quality matcha to Las Vegas and have kept the experience unapologetically Japanese. Do not expect sweet matcha here, they want you to enjoy the actual matcha flavor versus syrups and sauces. If you do like it sweet they have house made syrups, I recommend brown sugar or strawberry. They have tiers of matcha ranging from a $7 or $8 latte I believe up to a $13 Joyo matcha which has an umami flavor. I think the staff does a great job making sure you have a full experience where you learn something new which helps that higher price point feel justified lol The vibe inside is pretty standard, nothing crazy unique. I do think it's the best how ever I wouldn't be able to make it My go to with how busy it is. I do highly recommend trying it once to see what the hype is about if you like matcha.

My best friend and I came back to this cafe to try the hojicha and ice cream topping. At around 3pm on Sunday afternoon, there was no queue at all. It seemed like the hype had come to an end. Joyo3 Matcha Latte with Matcha Ice Cream | According to the barista 4 grams of matcha powder were used for this latte, which was evident. We chose the regular milk option for our latte this time. We believe that oatmilk enhances the nuttier flavor, but regular milk was alright as well. ~Matcha Ice Cream | The matcha flavor was average. The texture of ice cream was disappointing. It was icy and slushy instead of smooth and creamy, not worth $4.50! Hojicha Latte | It had that usual a toasty flavor and not grainy compared to similar establishments. It had the same taste as any other hojicha, just average. Price: Although the price was higher than the average matcha place, the quality was not significantly inferior. We spent $47 for 3 drinks LOL! Service: Since there was no line and it was not busy, the employee who took orders had more time to recommend types of milk, describe matcha/hojicha, and let guests smell the powder. Parking: Plenty in the parking lot.

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anything special either. The toppings kept sliding off every slice, and overall the flavor just felt kind of lacking. The service also threw me off a little. We asked the cashier what toppings came on one of the pizzas, and she replied, "Sorry, I don't make the pizzas, so I don't know." I get not knowing every detail, but it felt like a strange response when we're just trying to order. The prices were also pretty steep. A canned soda was over $5, which felt a little crazy to me. The one thing I really did like was the space itself. The cafe has a great vibe, lots of seating, plenty of outlets, the music isn't blasting, and it's open late. It seems like a great place to study, get some work done, or even end a date night. I originally wanted to come back and try the drinks and hojicha tiramisu, but after this experience, I'm not really in a rush to return.

There was ample seating with both indoor and outdoor options. We went early enough the weather was beautiful and opted for outdoor seating. Service was quite fast, our coffee and drink orders came out in less than five minutes and food came out just as i was about halfway done my latte. And the latte was HEAVENLY, definitely made with that special ingredient of love. The breakfast sandwich was my absolute favorite. The mango mochi was pretty darn good and definitely lived up to the hype, i would return to get it again, but our mango wasnt as ripe as i would have preferred. I was a bit disappointed with the beignets as we thought we didn't realize they all came with matcha powder & the dipping sauces did not accompany our order so we unfortunately did not get to get the full experience. The owner of Gyu+ mentioned that they owned this place too and recommended that we try it. We knew about the mango mochi and that was something we knew we wanted, but I also saw that they had mochi beignets which I had to try. The shop is next to Gyu+, so you can always hop on over and grab some dessert. The interior of the place is quite spacious and it feels open. It's a nice cafe to sit out with mellow music playing in the background. The only con I will say is that there is only 1 register, so the line takes a bit longer and waiting for food will take a bit. When I came, the line wasn't too long but it did wrap towards the front door of the restaurant. The line goes pretty slowly, but they do have things around the shop you can look at and they crack the window so it's not too hot. I believe I was waiting in line for about 20+ before I was able to take my order. The cashier was super sweet and I ordered the following with her: -1 order of mochi beignets (12 pieces) with strawberry sauce -1 mango mochi -1 strawberry matcha latte I forgot how much my order was, but I believe everything was about ~$30-40. It was another 15-20 minutes to get my food since they fry the mochi beignets to order, which is understandable. REVIEW OF EACH ITEM: -Mochi Beignets with Strawberry Sauce - they mentioned that they only had chocolate and strawberry sauce, no yuzu. I have to say that the strawberry sauce was SO good and it paired well with the mochi beignet. The mochi beignet was small, but dense but also not as heavy as I thought. It was dusted with powdered sugar and matcha powder, which I absolutely loved. It wasn't overly sweet, but it can be heavy if you plan to take down a few mochi beignets. Coming from Gyu+, I was only able to eat one. -Mango Mochi - this was exactly what you thought it was, which was a slice of sweet mango and cream wrapped in mochi. It was delicious and refreshing to say the least! They do prepare these in advance, so if you're planning to grab some, it doesn't take too long. -Strawberry Matcha Latte - this was good from what I remembered! The matcha was smooth and the strawberry puree was sweet. Mixing them together created a refreshing drink on a hot day. I'll definitely be back again to grab those mochi beignets!! I still think about them and I do want to try other things on the menu, like their sandos and their cakes!
