16 dollars for a matcha had me closer to passing out than the Las Vegas heat. I had never thought I'd pay so much for a drink so automatically I was sure I would hate the drink and complain about how it's not worth the price..... however the exact opposite happened. The matcha was impeccable. No notes. I'm glad I'm not a local because if I was I'd be in a very co dependent relationship with hatoya. As for the establishment itself it's small and off the strip in an unassuming parking lot. Once inside the decor is sleek and modern. You can see the baristas crafting your drink and they even encourage you to take pictures and videos. It's an experience and the matcha is tasty so I suppose the price makes sense.

8+ dollars for a matcha latte is steep, but its cheaper than traveling all the way to Japan to enjoy this! Top quality matcha that you can taste, and the presentation is 10/10. Definitely get the ice cream as add on since the matcha taste is very thick!! No line at all when I visited. Easy parking in the plaza. Plenty of seats inside plus a bathroom.

I didn't get to try Hatoya when I visited Japan, so I was stoked that their first ever location in the US opened here in Vegas! I ordered the midori matcha which was the second-most expensive one on the menu. But, I also added the shiratama rice balls and matcha ice cream which brought my total to $17!! We went an hour before closing on a Sunday, so it wasn't too crowded inside, but there was still a bit of a wait. It is cool to see the staff mix the matcha in front of us, and they even encourage the customers to film the matcha pour over the milk. There are other shops for a quick matcha fix, but I'll come back here when I'm in the area and want to treat myself with good quality matcha and toppings.

Very clean inside and clean bathrooms. Not as spacious but very narrow. Seating is not chairs and tables but long against-wall seating with small stools for tables. Definitely for Yelp & the Gram where servers ask if you want to record them making your matcha, haha! Ordered original matcha latte with whole milk. It wasn't overly strong matcha but not sweet. Next time I would ask for it to be sweeter. Caution - the area and parking lot is a bit sketchy and I went daytime at 2pm.

Omg this place is so good. I came back twice and will visit every time I'm in town. Matcha is addicting! We got there right when they opened to avoid any lines. The menu is straight forward with 4 types of matcha (original, roasted, midori, joyo3). You can have it straight up or latte style. It comes unsweetened with raw cane sugar syrup as default at no charge. Anything else is extra like brown sugar or fruit syrups. You can also add toppings like ice cream, matcha whip cream or sticky rice balls. After you make your purchase at the first registered, the next table over is where they make your drink. They have it down to a science like in a lab. It's IG worthy when they pour. The first time, I got roasted matcha latte with brown sugar and espuma whip cream. This was so creamy, roasty, and rich. Sadly I finished within a few sips due to the amount of ice the cup. Second time I tried the original latte. This was more earthy, grassy, bold like your typical matcha. Next time I'll get it straight up. If you're a matcha fan, definitely try this place out. It's their first and only US location.

Came here after hearing rave reviews. We love matcha and was looking forward to trying it. It was slightly disappointing. Our favorite of the two drinks was the one with coconut water. The matcha flavor was strong which is good but it just tasted like something was missing. Very pretty drinks but not sure we would go back

During my quick trip to Vegas, I decided to try Hatoya. Since it was our second matcha consumption that day, my bf and I decided to share the Midori matcha latte, which cost almost $12. Extremely expensive given how much ice was placed in the cup prior to staff asking if I wanted to film them pouring the matcha into the cup. The drink itself was just okay. The staff was friendly and welcoming and luckily, it was pretty empty when we walked in. Don't think it's worth the visit in my opinion.

    Calena A.

They really pride themselves on the high quality of the matcha, you wont find the run-of-the-mill sweet milk matcha options here. They're very focused on giving you an experience, from the informative menu describing the roast and individual qualities of the different matcha types, to giving you the opportunity to video record the associates mixing the drinks. The sea salt matcha is balanced with sweetness, cream, and umami flavor. Seating is limited here, it's more of a place to grab and go.

This is my first visit to Hatoya. To preface, I love my matcha drinks and make my own at home as well, so I was excited to see how this place was. I came in with the expectation that the drinks will not be too sweet and more tea-forward. Service (5/5): The staff were friendly and helpful. We asked about the different matcha types they carry and their recommendations. You get to see your drink being made from start to finish which is a nice touch. There was a small corner where merchandise and matcha powder is sold as well. Ambiance (3/5): The shop itself was small, and monochrome themed. It was a little too dark for my liking, but there's a tiny seating area for those that want to sit and enjoy their drink (not so much for studying or anything like that). Food/Drink (3/5): We opted to get their signature matcha latte with ice cream and mochi balls, lightly sweetened with rock cane sugar. The matcha was smooth and not grainy at all. The flavor was slightly nutty and full bodied. The ice cream flavor was bold but not very creamy. To my surprise, the mochi balls were a little on the denser side, and lacked flavor. Even with these elements together, the whole drink felt 1 note. There wasn't any particular component that stuck out to me. Even with light sweetness, it didn't show through. Like others have mentioned, the price is on the higher side. This drink was around $14 because everything is an add-on. Overall (3.5/5): It was worth a first try. The matcha is definitely made with premium ingredients and the staff were hospitable. However, considering all the points above, I personally prefer other matcha places in town.

    Jennifer D.

Let me start by saying that if you want the classic matcha with the matcha ice cream on top and the rice mochi balls, expect to pay around $20 for the drink. The quality of the matcha was good, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. Personally, I wish it had been a little sweeter. I asked for extra sweetener after they made my drink, but it still wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste. That said, I do tend to prefer sweeter drinks. I think it's worth checking out, especially since it's the first U.S. location. If you've been to Japan, I'd say it's pretty similar to what you get there. Overall, I'd consider it more of a one-time experience just to try it.

coconut matcha, midori matcha latte with matcha icecream and mochi
    Brenda Y.

This was such a cute cafe with very minimal seating but is very aesthetic. The drinks are much pricier so you are definitely paying for the quality since the baristas hand whisk and make the cream top on the spot for each order. However, I wouldn't get this again but because it was so pricy. The drinks were amazing, the midori match wasn't bitter, and the coconut matcha had the perfect ratio. But, the matcha icecream was too icy and wasn't smooth.

This small cup is $13+ topping and $1brown sugar substitute
    Tony P.

For a cafe that specializes in premium matcha the drink falls short of all expectations, especially at its price point. We got the Joyo3 and the taste was flat, no strong matcha notes. Feels like a gimmick when asked if we wanted to take a picture of the matcha pour. For $13 there are plenty of places you can go to where the matcha will have 1) better taste 2) bigger portion size 3) better priced and value. Do yourself a favor and skip this - for the owners of this establishment - please reevaluate what you are serving and how this compares to the surrounding competition.

Matcha lovers, this spot is legit. Yesterday afternoon, the Hubby and I finally checked out Hatoya in Spring Valley! The whole setup is so modern, zen and peaceful. From the individual ceremonial stations, stone seating, down to the super cool neon matcha-in-a-cup decor, I really enjoyed the ambiance. Watching the entire ritual in person was such an experience. They whisked the ceremonial Uji matcha right in front of us and invited us to record! That alone was a plus! I had the Matcha Latte with Salted Cream Foam and the Hubby had a Matcha Float with a cute ball of matcha ice cream on the side. That rich umami flavor in every sip, OMG! 10/10 recommendation for a Sunday matcha date.
