I've been here three times and I'm disappointed every time. The chicken is never crunchy on the outside, and it's always chewy and rough on the inside. It also tasted fishy the last time I had it. What a fun place to eat a good piece of Southern chicken! Since this place is new we pretty much tried everything on the menu. The chicken was so good! Even the white meat was tender & juicy. The amount of breading was perfect and all the sauces we tried were delish! The only thing we did not like was the potato salad. All the other sides were yummy: my favorite was the mac & cheese. The fries tasted squishy and the chicken sandwich was very chewy. When I ate the Jumbo wings the sauce on it tasted like something you clean the bathroom with but the taste quickly goes away which weirded me out. read more

We tried it for the first time recently and we're so pleased with everything from the person who took our order , to the way our order came out fast and hot , and finally the true star the food . The chicken was moist and mild hot ( which is the way I ordered it ) , so good ! Then those sides of greens and baked beans were off the chain . I wish we had a Hattie B's a little closer to home but already looking forward to the next visit . The music and vibe of the other patrons was really cool and laid back too . Exhausting your spice levels to the highest degrees! Risking the future at your own costs! How much would someone have to pay you with no prior knowledge, to eat hot chicken flavored "Shut the Cluck up?" Now that would be one bribing task. An experiment as I would call it. My English class recently took a trip to the restaurant Hattie B's. We went there to try the hot chicken. Some people were insane daredevils. On the other hand, I was a "wimp". Also extremely scared I wouldn't be able to see, taste, hear, or smell ever again if I ate that. By the way some of my classmates reacted when eating the chicken, I knew that there was something up. I was suspicious that not only could this damage your body, but torture you in your dreams forever. I finally came to the realization that this wasn't just any type of meat: It was mystery meat! Not knowing the origins of this hot chicken, it was a profound mystery if you ask me. You always hear about the most legendary people, places, and things, but this hot chicken is really something spectacular. When we walked off the bus, you could feel the legendary aura you hear about that surrounds this famous restaurant. With mouths drooling and stomachs growling the wait was finally over. When I stepped up to the register, all of the previous conversations and decisions on whether trying the hottest chicken would be a good choice started to weigh on me. At this point in time, thinking fast was a priority. In making the best decision for my future, I decided not to try the hottest chicken flavor. I didn't even get the second or third hottest flavor. And to make things even spicier, I didn't even try the fourth hottest flavor. Rolling with the regular southern style flavor is what suited me best. Hearing what all the other kids ordered, I must be honest. I was a little disappointed that I didn't have the courage to try the hot chicken, but I also knew my boundaries, which helped me make the correct decision. Making the best decision for me was important, but other things started to weigh in. Here I was, thinking that all the tough sledding was done, but I was wrong. My classmates kept on bribing me to try the hot chicken, but I was not budging. Time started to pass and thirty minutes later some of my classmates were still challenging me to eat it. Time went on and as I saw more people take a jab at the hot chicken, I started to say, "Man maybe I am soft. I got to show them I can do this." Peer pressure started to take over my head. I have never been gullible enough to do stupid things just to please people, but then on the other hand it could give you an experience to be remembered. The peer pressure I was starting to receive was getting heavier. This was going to be the absolute death of me. Sitting back in my chair patiently deciding what ultimate decision my brain would finally make, I was thinking about nothing but the chicken.The chicken was superior. It felt like chicken pox, the guiltiness of being one of the only students in the class not being spontaneous was spreading throughout my body. Time passed and unfortunately I failed not only myself, but my morals. I promised myself before we got off the bus to stand on business. That meant one thing: Which was to not be peer pressured!!! Before you know it, a broken off piece of the "Shut the Cluck up" was in my mouth. Maybe I was being too hard on myself. After all, the chicken wasn't that bad. Then again, I had a very little piece. A piece so small you could probably give it to a baby. Yes, I was down on myself that not only did my Jordans get creased from the scratchy floor, but I was on both ends of the stick. I knew that peer pressure could have been my achilles heel but I didn't know to what extent. This is one of the biggest problems in today's society. We are forced to do something that we do not want to do so that others don't call us names. It's like we do things just for the pleasure of it. We do this because we are humans who care about what people think. It's pretty simple: You don't want to try one of the hottest chicken flavors in the world but have to because everyone else is. That is what's tough about peer pressure. There is a way to solve this big issue though. Just think about it if you were in someone else's shoes. What if you didn't like heights, but you were made to go on a camping trip to the top of Mount Everest. You had decided you wouldn't go and nothing would change that. Then, you find out you would be paid a million dollars if you went and a bunch of people were begging you to go. At that point, what else would you do? There is only one option and that would be to go to Mount Everest. That's why peer pressure needs to be handled when it boils down to times like these because it unintentionally forces you to do things no one would want to do. The sides are also going to come through every time, my personal recommendations would be the bacon cheese grits and pimento mac n cheese. ORDERED ONLINE (can't do less than one star). Live in the neighborhood, planned on walking the dog there, picking up the food and head home. ESTIMATED PICKUP TIME Today at 5:45pm EDT. Got there at 5:45pm. Nothing ready. Sat for awhile, said they had to cook the chicken, 2mins tops. 6:05pm, nothing. Checked on my dog outside. Had people come in, order take-out and walk out before me. They kept asking me if I wanted anything while I wait. I said yes, the food I ordered. And, like , now. 6:10pm, we just have to cook the chicken, 3mins tops. all the while, my dog is out side tide up for 1/2 hour waiting for me. Finally, 6:15pm, I get my food. It's good. The food comes fast and is reasonably priced. Get the hot chicken and a sweet tea.

Hattie B! Hattie B! Hattie B! I could go through the whole alphabet with compliments for Hattie B's chicken. Did you know they have cocktails, too?! And they are delicious just like the food. Don't sleep on the Pain Killer and the lemonade Boozy Slushy. Look here, I don't really mess with french fries like that, but Hattie B's fries had me dippin in everyone's plates. The wings, the sammiches, omg the banana puddin and the greens- you pretty much can't go wrong with the menu. My only regret is that I didn't drop $30 for a bucket hat. I feel like I played myself cheap. I also have to mention the service- it is on point. I love a place where people seem to not hate being at work. The Hattie B staff could give lessons to other businesses. I wish they would. My culinary tour of ATL has been mind blowing, and Hattie B's is definitely a spot I'm glad I didn't miss.
