My second time at this place. The last experience was during nighttime. I recommended the place during today's daytime dining after watching a show in NBC. We made a walked in visit and lucky to get seats. The view is not as magnificent in comparison to other rooftops in midtown but descent enough to get a fun time. It is the closest rooftop from Rockefeller center. The dining area is a bit small. Food is alright but cocktails are great. They have party section for any private events. The Haven Rooftop restaurant is near Rockefeller Center and offers a pleasant dining experience for anyone visiting the area (or locals, like us!). It's got skylight ceilings and a great bar, and lots of tables. We came on Christmas Day and started with margaritas (excellent) and Haven's guac and chips (some of the best we've had in a while). Their lunch menu included their signature sliders, egg sandwiches, steak & eggs, and margarita pizza. Everything was delicious and served promptly by friendly staff. It's a touch pricey, but it's rooftop dining! We had a great time and look forward to dinner there soon. read more

Rooftop was nicely decorated for the holidays - not over the top but still giving that vibe. We prepaid to reserve for 10 people and got a bunch of apps such as their hummus and pita (which was delicious), nicely seasoned truffle fries, good buffalo chicken wings, crab and avocado palette, and margherita pizza. Everything was enjoyable. for entrees there was no kids menu but we managed with the fries and penne. the group mostly got the same thing.Truffle spaghetti was good and had no overpowering truffle taste. The spot is lovely. The wait staff was lightly attentive. We were sat in a bit of an alleyway near the service window. The rooftop wasn't crowded, so it was a bummer we got put in the less desirable section. The food was meh. The drinks were great. The pasta and french fries were good. The restaurant is beautiful with gorgeous decorations. I love the vibe of being on the rooftop and the staff in the lobby were very helpful in getting us up and down the 15 floors. The food was good, although a bit average for the prices. The drink I got was delicious, though! I got the Mojito de Poire with pear puree. The place was packed so our server was running around, but he made sure we had what we needed. The one thing I'll say is we noticed that there were no female servers. Getting a reservation on OpenTable wasn't too difficult fortunately and the location is pretty convenient (right in the heart of times square). The restaurant shares an entrance with two other restaurants so there are a few people directing foot traffic to get people onto the elevator upstairs. Once upstairs, we arrived at the rooftop. The vibe was trendy but casual. The menu had the usual brunch items. I thought the prices were in line with similar restaurants in the area,though some items were more expensive, including drinks. I ordered the avocado toast, which was pretty basic. The toast had a slight citrusy flavor which I wasn't crazy about. My friend had the sliders and truffle fries, which smelled pretty good. Both of our orders came out quickly. At the end, they brought us a check, but the check was not itemized. When we asked if they could bring an itemized receipt, they never brought it to us. Not a huge deal, but it wasn't my favorite place. I don't think I'd come back. There are too many other nice places to try. read more

I visited Haven Rooftop as a quick food stop after viewing Sinners. We arrived, and the first doorman was so pleasant, I asked if we needed a reservation, he stated "No no go right in" and let us in without an issue. Then as we proceeded to second doorman who had the tablet, he looked us up and down, asked if we had a reservation, I stated no and he told me they weren't taking walk-in's. So as we were walking out I came on Yelp which directed me to open table, there were open reservations from 5pm (it was 4:43pm) until closing, I booked a reservation for 5pm. And just as I did that the first doorman, who was very welcoming, asked us why were we leaving and stopped us so that he can see what the issue was inside , which I really appreciated. But being that I had just made a reservation I told him and was fixing to go back in anyway. This whole ordeal which may not have seemed major, really annoyed me, especially seeing that once we got upstairs the majority of the guests did not "look like us". Anyway, Once we got upstairs the staff was pleasant and waiters were attentive. The restaurant was nice, simple and chic. The food was overpriced yet not the best tasting. I usually take pictures of my food but I was annoyed. But the pizza tasted blah, the truffle fries were good, and the calamari was just ok. I would not return to Haven. read more

It was easy to make a reservation on Open Table here. The food was excellent. I would recommend the roasted cauliflower appetizer. It was very unique and excellent! We sort of started off with a bad first impression, because the hostesses were inexperienced and not well-trained (like--when you walk up to the hostess stand to ask a question, and the hostesses are just talking among themselves and don't notice you--that is a little frustrating), but the food made up for it. The service was great. I took my wife there for our 13 year anniversary and our server Pandora was super attentive and very pleasant. The food was very good. I had the salmon which was delicious. Always in search of a great rooftop and when I checked Yelp, I saw that I was right across the street. Located at the top of the Sanctuary hotel on 47th st between 6th and 7th. The hotel has a European - Bougie vibe with beautifully crafted front doors and a doorman to let you inside. We did not have a reservation, which is highly recommended, but it was only 4:00 so my new buddy at the front door let us in and told us to go to the front desk. The inside of the hotel is beautiful. Dimly lit with magnificent crystal chandeliers. Front desk staff was nice and said we could go up to the top, but we could only sit at the bar and that was fine with us. So far...very impressive...even to the point, I would stay here. Now for the rooftop... there is no view, and there is no air. It's pretty and nicely decorated, but it was VERY warm the day we were there. We just had drinks at the bar, and service was good. Truthfully, you go to a rooftop bar for the views, if you only see sides of buildings... go elsewhere. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on Saturday around 2:15pm. It was full of people and very lively at this time. We didn't really have the best view of the rooftop where we were seated in front of the elevator, but it was so bright and pretty inside that it didn't matter. We ordered the tuna tartare and huevos rancheros for a light snack since we had a heavy breakfast. The portions are small but the tuna tartare was so good we ordered a second plate. Hello adorable hidden gem!!! I am not sure if it's hidden but it's so stinking adorable and they have a bottomless mimosa brunch for only $33 and the rooftop dining area is beautiful!!! On a recent Monday evening my friends and I found ourselves in Times Square wandering around looking for somewhere for dinner. After trying our luck as walk-ins at a few spots (like Carmine's for example) and finding the wait time to be 1+ hours a quick Google search pulled up the nearby Haven Rooftop which we were able to easily snag an upcoming 8pm reservation on OpenTable. Upon arriving we took the short elevator ride up to the rooftop where the restaurant is located. It was pretty busy the entire time we were there. You'll have a nice view of a Gothic style building with some pretty cool gargoyles on it as well as the backside of Times Square (not the BEST view in the city). The experience was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Our server was great but the pizza my friend and I ordered to share was hard and dry (we ended up sending it back), the wait time for the two solo bathrooms on the rooftop was long each time I went, but the ambiance definitively made for a relaxing evening. Our other friend ordered the spaghetti and clams and enjoyed it very much - including the two seafood appetizers he ordered as well. I would definitely go back to enjoy cocktails on the rooftop next time I find myself in Times Square and someone else wanted to go...but I wouldn't go out of my way to return to Haven Rooftop. read more

Service was horrible. First it started with the Asian receptionist on the main floor. We made rsvp, when we approached her to inquire about it, the only thing came from her was "name?". No greeting then she just lazily leaning on her one side the pointed us to the elevator without actually walk out. We went went to the restaurant, we were sitted next to a large bday party. We asked the hostess by the stand to move us away for quieter place, without greeting and a word response back to me she walk back to our table grab the menus and said to my party "you guys want to move"? I had some friends in from out of town and they had Broadway tickets around the corner so I thought it would be a good place to have a quick drink before their show. I got an email in the morning stating that if we're more than 15 minutes late they'd give our table away and I'd be docked on my open table account. We were all there on time, but they didn't have a table for us until 6:25pm. What's the point of a reservation, and why is the customer the only one held accountable for timing?
