Always in search of a great rooftop and when I checked Yelp, I saw that I was right across the street. Located at the top of the Sanctuary hotel on 47th st between 6th and 7th. The hotel has a European - Bougie vibe with beautifully crafted front doors and a doorman to let you inside. We did not have a reservation, which is highly recommended, but it was only 4:00 so my new buddy at the front door let us in and told us to go to the front desk. The inside of the hotel is beautiful. Dimly lit with magnificent crystal chandeliers. Front desk staff was nice and said we could go up to the top, but we could only sit at the bar and that was fine with us. So far...very impressive...even to the point, I would stay here. Now for the rooftop... there is no view, and there is no air. It's pretty and nicely decorated, but it was VERY warm the day we were there. We just had drinks at the bar, and service was good. Truthfully, you go to a rooftop bar for the views, if you only see sides of buildings... go elsewhere. If I go back, I will reserve a table for dinner on the other side because I think there are better views on that side. read more

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on Saturday around 2:15pm. It was full of people and very lively at this time. We didn't really have the best view of the rooftop where we were seated in front of the elevator, but it was so bright and pretty inside that it didn't matter. We ordered the tuna tartare and huevos rancheros for a light snack since we had a heavy breakfast. The portions are small but the tuna tartare was so good we ordered a second plate. When we arrived, they girl at the hotel desk acted like we needed a reservation just to go to the bar. She said it was full and then recommended some tavern two doors down. Seriously?! We were way overdressed for a tavern judging by the inside piks on Yelp. Ultimately she let us up and the bar had four seats/tools which were all empty. Hello adorable hidden gem!!! I am not sure if it's hidden but it's so stinking adorable and they have a bottomless mimosa brunch for only $33 and the rooftop dining area is beautiful!!! Made a reservation here for 6pm yesterday. I had some friends in from out of town and they had Broadway tickets around the corner so I thought it would be a good place to have a quick drink before their show. I got an email in the morning stating that if we're more than 15 minutes late they'd give our table away and I'd be docked on my open table account. We were all there on time, but they didn't have a table for us until 6:25pm. What's the point of a reservation, and why is the customer the only one held accountable for timing? We were able to squeeze in a quick drink, and they were tasty, but not $20 tasty. It was a real bummer to have to slam down such an expensive cocktail in under 20 minutes. Haven rooftop has an amazing and pleasing aesthetic. Their beautiful rooftop setting makes for an airy but lighthearted brunch or lunch scenery. Their menu options are a bit on the pricier end but delicious nonetheless. Their drinks are very delicious, I highly recommend their bottomless mimosas! On a recent Monday evening my friends and I found ourselves in Times Square wandering around looking for somewhere for dinner. After trying our luck as walk-ins at a few spots (like Carmine's for example) and finding the wait time to be 1+ hours a quick Google search pulled up the nearby Haven Rooftop which we were able to easily snag an upcoming 8pm reservation on OpenTable. Upon arriving we took the short elevator ride up to the rooftop where the restaurant is located. It was pretty busy the entire time we were there. You'll have a nice view of a Gothic style building with some pretty cool gargoyles on it as well as the backside of Times Square (not the BEST view in the city). The experience was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Our server was great but the pizza my friend and I ordered to share was hard and dry (we ended up sending it back), the wait time for the two solo bathrooms on the rooftop was long each time I went, but the ambiance definitively made for a relaxing evening. Our other friend ordered the spaghetti and clams and enjoyed it very much - including the two seafood appetizers he ordered as well. I would definitely go back to enjoy cocktails on the rooftop next time I find myself in Times Square and someone else wanted to go...but I wouldn't go out of my way to return to Haven Rooftop. read more

The pros-this a beautiful spot in Times Square. That's it. The food is ok but overpriced. We had two pretty dry lobster rolls for $30 each. The fries were better than the lobster which was chewy as well. We asked for truffle aioli 4 times before it was finally brought once we'd were almost done eating. Chicken wings were also dry and seemed like the had been done for a while. We brought a birthday cake for my daughter and we're told it would be $10 per plate to cut our own cake and eat it here. Very flavorful and the salsa had a nice kick to it. The brunch pizza was insane. So crispy and the egg was perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend trying it! We also got an order of the fries (not pictured) which were thin and crispy which were also good, and came with an aioli that I liked more than my friend did. This ended up being fatal to our evening taking in a very expensive Broadway show, as it got things off on the wrong foot; we didn't even order dinner, because nothing seemed appetizing as our table by the bar was so bad. Also, we had to wait 15 or 20 minutes for our reserved table - why? And it took 20 minutes or so to get our cocktail order -- again, why? Appetizers we ordered were adequate, nothing outstanding. I went with the crab cake Benedict and it was fantastic. My dish was better than the avocado toast that my date had. The avo toast comes w two eggs but he asked for an extra so that's why there are 3 in the pic. He ate his food and finished mine! We opted against mimosas but they looked good. I almost had one cocktail but we had plans and needed to eat and run. The gal next to us had the French toast. It was huge. She almost ate the entire dish. I was impressed.
