We have used a few other landscapers since our home was built in 1985, but Mirage has been the best by far, from design to implementation, and follow up. Joseph recommended suppliers and went with us on several occasions to select both hardscape and plantings. During construction, a newly installed water line from the street burst at about 4 am. I shut of the main valve at the street and called Joseph in a near panic as we were scheduled to take a trip to Catalina Island in a few hours. He told us to go a ahead, and it was repaired well before we returned home. Turned out the problem was due to a defective batch or pipe adhesive, as verified by another plumber. Very recently (i.e. 5.5 years later) we noticed the expansion gap filler at the low end of out driveway needed replacement. Once the recent rains subsided, Joseph had it replaced for no charge to us. People who visit our home make comments on how nice the drive-way, walk-way and plantings look, and folks just walking by often stop just to look. We give Joseph our highest possible recommendation.

After doing extensive research we obtained bids and interviewed four different and well reviewed landscaping companies. We chose Mirage Landscape because of the owner, Joseph Sekander, clearly had the beautiful designs from past projects and was willing to work with what we visioned for our home as well. This was a massive project for both the front and rear yards that required removing all the old colored concrete, patio cover, sprinkler system and eight large trees. Joseph met with us at nurseries, stone and tile warehouses and was always available by phone if we had questions. From demo to filling our beautiful new spa the workers and sub contractors were timely and professional throughout. My wife and I were very pleased with how friendly and respectful all of the workers were during the various phases of the project. I can highly recommend Mirage Landscape. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not include them in your bidding process.

To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The back patio was 1970s looking brown pebble tec around the pool and patio area (which was fading and coming loose), and the side driveway was painted concrete which got super slippery in the rain. I wanted something textured that my kids wouldn't slip on, and I wanted to tie the whole house together with one uniform coating. Their crew worked really hard for us, and they really paid attention to detail. The painters were super neat, and the guys doing the coating were meticulous. It was a really big job, and it took a while to complete, but they kept at it and did it right. They've even come back a couple times to fix some little things that I messed up, or that happened through normal wear and tear. I will attach some before and after pics if I can find them, but in the meantime if you're considering resurfacing a patio, driveway, or other area, call these guys first. They'll take care of you.

They fixed a leaky pipe in my backyard without having to pull up my pavers and then they fixed a pipe in my front planter that solved low pressure on my drip lines. He worked quickly, efficiently, and was communicative. The only point of feedback I'd have is to ensure that you know what you want done, as he will do exactly what he explains and what you discuss with him. If you are like me and far from an expert (or even knowledgeable) about your yard/sprinklers, ask him and he will very patiently diagnose and explain. Otherwise, if you simply point to *specific* issues, he will expertly take care of them to the exclusion of any more digging (no pun intended.) As an example, there was some collection of water around the base of a repaired sprinkler - he had done exactly what we discussed: replaced the sprinkler itself, but he had not worked on anything around it. Not his fault, and when I asked about it, he explained what the other issue(s) might be. Less scrupulous people probably would've taken the opportunity to upsell me. Even after the work was done, and his payment was in hand, I still found him in my front yard, ensuring that his work was done right and polished. How many people would've done that, instead of just driving off after being paid? I'll definitely be calling Brandon the next time I have any sprinkler issues.

I have hired other gardeners I found on Yelp, and they have all been good, but for one reason or another I have never called them back. Angel is different. For the first time, I didn't have to provide any guidance. He and his crew arrived early and just went to work. When he was done, I did ask why a few things weren't trimmed, and for each he had an answer that made sense. Most importantly, I didn't have to ask him and go back and pull weeds that still remained or cut other things that should have been cut. On top of that, he trimmed my trees (small lemon and olive trees) way more than any other gardener before me, without my asking! Needless to say, if you are looking for an expert gardening service for regular maintenance, Angel is your man!

Haven Hub does not do landscape work. They subcontract out the job to random people who's work and experience (if any) is a mystery. The photos you see do not represent Haven Hub's work because you don't know who is actually going to show up on your property and likely, it's not going to be the same people. There is also no oversight of the project to make sure it's being done right. Here's what happened with us: 2 thorough consultations to draft a contract (Nick W), contract increases by 3k with no explanation, I was given the runaround for a few days, some poor excuse about stair walkways costing more than flat concrete and that the cost of materials was getting passed to me directly with no profit margin on Haven Hub's side, 2 weeks later people show up with no idea what they are doing on my property, we had guests that overstayed at our house so they got a hold of me at work to try and explain to someone with limited English and no video call what they needed to do. Different people showed up a week later to do concrete but had no idea what they were doing (the walkway). 2 weeks later another group shows up to lay artificial turf but I had to stop them because they didn't know where the turf was suppose to go. Keep in mind we are in contact with their "Chief Experience Officer" (Alex P) through this process. He says communication issue is because "English is not their first language" then proceeds to claim that everyone knows the project details even though they literally don't. Then they decide that they were not going to dig the planter holes or run the drip line on our yard. First it was because "your sprinkler valve is broken" (it wasn't), Alex argued with me about this as if he knew anything. Imagine someone trying to tell you about YOUR property and they have never seen or been to it. Then when his excuse wasn't getting by, the new excuse became "it's not on the contract" (the contract is vague), then when I brought up the planter holes that are clearly drawn on the contract, the excuse is "the soil in your area is difficult because it has rocks so it's going to cost you more if you want us to dig those eleven 5-gallon planter holes". I called their customer service number and got the runaround for a few weeks with the whole "we apologize that you feel this way" but never a "we apologize that we messed up" because there are two things that could have happened. 1) Nick repeated what we wanted and drew it on his project rendering but wasn't actually listening and what we asked for wasn't on the contract because he was being honestly absentminded, or 2) What we wanted in this project was heard, noted, and Haven Hub just didn't feel like doing it so they resorted to "technically its not on the contract" to pocket a larger profit. Anyway, Chanel-RS is also "an executive" and was in contact regarding the HUGE discrepancy in what we paid Haven Hub for and what we were getting. Every time I got an email it was about how they were diligently working on resolving this issue but basically, I would get calls from them at the very end of their day so if something needed to be addressed, it would just get pushed off to some unknown future date, just not that day. In the end, they didn't do anything to try and resolve anything other than send me what they think is considered an "itemized invoice" because I requested it. In total from the first consultation to project completion took 2 months. Our project was simple and basic and in the end, we did not get everything we asked and paid for, and we had to do free labor for Haven Hub. The only thing I can say that they were diligent and persistent about is trying to send someone to my house, without reasonable notice, to pick up the final payment and then constantly calling about it while the check was in a certified envelope on its way to their pretend office which apparently no one is actually at. After being as shady as they were and giving us no reason to trust them, why would I hand a 22K check to a random person showing up at my door? I'm not risking the chance of them pretending not to have it in their possession so they can charge me delinquency fees. You bet I paid the extra $10 just to certify that check. The only reason they are so scared that check isn't coming is because they are projecting their own dishonestly and lack of ethical business practices. Point is, don't hire them. You are better off just driving to your local hardware store and picking up a few day workers to help you with the manpower. Haven Hub has been calling us non-stop to request that we remove our honest review. They tried offering gift cards, then a "$1500 refund" to remove the review on their business which by the way, is against Yelp's terms of service. read more

We recently put in HavenHub's turf in our backyard, and it's been fantastic! First, the turf feels incredibly soft under our feet--like walking on a cozy carpet. After reading their excellent Yelp reviews, I contacted them to get an estimate for upgrading my pool deck. Jay came out, thoroughly inspected my existing concrete, and instead of trying to sell me the most expensive option, he told me my concrete was in great condition. He recommended an epoxy pebble overlay that would give me the look I wanted for about half the cost of replacing everything. That level of honesty and integrity is rare. He could have easily recommended a much more expensive project, but instead he put my best interests first. Whether or not I ended up using their services, I wanted to recognize a company that values honesty over making a bigger sale. That kind of professionalism says a lot about their character, and I truly appreciate it.

Before choosing a contractor, we met with roughly 15 different companies, and from our very first meeting, Nir stood out from the rest. Unlike many contractors we spoke with, Nir never made us feel pressured or rushed into making a decision. He took the time to thoroughly explain the entire process, what to expect, and answer all of our questions. We made a few design changes throughout the project, and Nir was always willing to meet with us, come back out to the house, review the revisions, and make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Throughout the entire project, he was always just a text or phone call away whenever we had a question. One thing we were especially happy about was how quickly they were able to get started. Within just a few days of signing the agreement, the crew was onsite and working. We wanted the project completed in time to enjoy our backyard during the summer, so that was a huge plus for us. The demo phase moved quickly, and throughout the entire project it was clear that everyone on the crew took pride in their work. There was always progress being made, and nobody was standing around waiting for something to do. The entire project took about 2-3 weeks, with a few days of delay due to an existing plumbing issue we discovered with our old galvanized main line. This was not related to their work, but once the issue was identified, Nir and his team were able to handle that project for us as well, including permits and inspections. After the plumbing work was completed, they got right back on track and finished everything quickly. As with any construction project, a few small items and details came up along the way that needed clarification or adjustment. Construction projects rarely go perfectly, and we had a few misunderstandings and unexpected issues come up throughout the process. What impressed us was that whenever something needed attention, Nir took ownership of it, communicated with us, and made sure it was resolved. In the end, everything was completed to our satisfaction. One of our biggest concerns before starting was who would actually be working on our property. We work from home and have kids, so we wanted to feel comfortable with the people who would be at our house every day for several weeks. One thing we really appreciated about Unique Home Builders was that they used their own crew. We got to know the team, everyone was respectful, and it made the entire experience much more comfortable. There were also a few design details that we changed while work was already underway. For example, around our palm trees we originally planned to do circular paver borders, but once we saw them taking shape, we decided we preferred square borders instead. We mentioned it to the foreman, and the team made the adjustment without any issues. That flexibility made a big difference. The job site was kept clean and organized throughout the project. During the demo phase there were naturally some days where material and debris accumulated in the front yard, but everything was organized, contained, and safely coned off. We also appreciated the little things. Whenever we were leaving or returning home while the crew was working, they would move equipment and materials out of the way for us, and they would even sweep up before leaving for the day. Those details did not go unnoticed. Pricing was very fair. Nir wasn't the cheapest bid we received, but he also wasn't the most expensive. Given the amount of work involved and the quality of the finished product, we felt the value was excellent. Just as importantly, the final cost matched the agreed contract price. The true test of a contractor isn't whether problems arise, it's how they handle them. Nir and his team consistently communicated, addressed concerns, and delivered a finished project we're proud of. We are extremely happy with the end result, would absolutely hire Unique Home Builders again, and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

The quoted price was alright but the details were missing such as exactly whats covered in the job. later, had to pay more to get the originally promised job. Work was done pretty quickly but the overall quality of work isn't professional. I have some of the paver stones loose with in the first week and more now only after a year. The weed barrier isn't working 100% but overall getting the job done. would not recommend them unless you ask many questions and have every little detail written on the contract. ** made a huge mess on the driveway with the material and did not clean it afterwards.

In my town, yard watering was regulated by house numbers - odd house #s can run their sprinklers on M-W-Sat, even #s on Sun-T-Th. I think. I could never really remember. My grass was confused. So, we decided to do the right thing and finish off our grossly un-pedigreed Bermuda and crab grass. We murdered it...it was ugly anyway. Round-up and putting the kabash on the water hose did the trick. Now, reduced to a moonscape, we were the ugliest house on the block. My desiccated plants and neighbors definitely *had* to hate us. The Gladys Kravits' of my neighborhood, http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/imgLib/20090723_Mrs._Kravitz.JPG, were peeking out their windows in horror. The City of Corona thought we used too little water, so raised our rates accordingly. Finally, in 2014, I hired a landscape architect. But after 16 long months of excuses/delays/empty promises, I'd had enough of him. All I had was a set of foo-foo plans that had cost me an arm & a leg, but off-the-charts un-implementable. In my desperation, I scoured Yelp yet again. I found Wayne Andrew, my ultimate Yard Whisperer. Our first meeting in December 2015 went well. Armed with decades of experience and a great wit, he lit up when I spoke of my ideas: picket fence, arbor, roses, river rock pillars, playful garden art, artificial turf, and low maintenance, drought tolerant plants. He looked at my disastrous "professional" drawings and obviously pitied me. Not only were they unrealistic, he assured me he could create something beautiful for half the price. At this point, I should warn you this project has not been an overnight wonder, we still had to wait our turn. Busy man. But the true professional that he is, he stayed in frequent contact with me. While I waited, we created and massaged a new set of do-able plans, he, his son, Tyson whom I must bestow the title "right-hand man", and I. And when if finally became "our turn" the end of July, I finally met the rest of his dedicated, dependable crew. I have great respect for them all. Wayne and Tyson have been on the job almost every single day, working right alongside them. The rock pillars took extra effort because, he took over for his subcontractor after I did not like them, and ended up re-building them himself. Wayne runs a "pay as you go" business with meticulous invoicing. With the degree of complexity of my job, (removing creepy dead plants, leveling, pouring a new driveway and laying pavers, building the new rock pillars with old river rock, building and painting a new arbor (he designed it using the architecture of the house in his design), and installating timed, low voltage lighting and a timed drip system), it has taken almost two months from start to finish, with little time off for good behavior. No magic wand here. And that is why we must all be patient. Now it is finished. Better than I could have envisioned. I appreciate his and Tyson's creative suggestions, but especially their cooperation with me, as I was quite opinionated, both in design and choice of plants. The end result is beautiful, changing with each season. And he will be THE guy I call when I am ready to do my back yard. Many thanks to his subcontractor, Dave Queyrel of Inland Wrought Iron in Riverside, who created my Victorian style fence, and Unique Outdoor Designs in Corona for my special Victorian style, hook lamppost. These are both real eye catchers and which Wayne expertly supervised during the entire installation.
