I just ordered a poo poo platter from this place and I ordered lo mein and pork fried rice. Everything was extremely cooked the chicken crumbled. The beef teriyaki was more like beef jerky. The rice was un edible. I do have to say that they're crab. Rangoon was very good. I thought the prices were a little steep for what I got. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce, and I received the weirdest looking dish I've ever seen. I was expecting large shrimp in the thick somewhat clear sauce with vegetables here and there, all served with rice. What I got was a thick brown sauce with ground pork and a few medium shrimp. I called to say they delivered the wrong thing, but after talking with them, I determined that this was in fact the correct dish. Definitely not worth the $10 they charged for it, especially considering it didn't even come with white rice. The taste was ok, but not light and lobster-y, but instead thick and meaty, more like a sloppy joe consistency. Weird. I ended up throwing 2/3 of it out. We also got the moo shi beef, which we didn't really care for. It was 95% cabbage, and lacked any real flavor. The "pancakes" it came with were flour tortillas from a package - I couldn't believe it. I tried to eat a few pieces of meat, but it wasn't good at all. I threw it all out, saving the tortillas for tacos. Lastly, we ordered the pu pu platter for two. Chicken fingers are small pieces of boneless chicken in super thick batter. Batter : chicken was around 5:1. Same with the fried shrimp. Crab Rangoon was flavorful but they were hardly filled. Beef teriyaki was ok, but very chewy. The "ribs" were awful. Ended up tossing those two after a week in the fridge. All in all, I wouldn't go back for fear of wasting so much food again. I couldn't repurpose it or make it over into something else, which I shouldn't have to do in the first place since I'm paying to have someone else do the cooking. Getting consistent good Chinese food is hard in this city. First time we ordered,food was not great, except for chicken wings. So we just go and get the chicken wings. Today we ordered chicken wings to be delivered along with rice, not expecting the rice to be that good, but the chicken wings should be good, right? Nah! I ordered at 6pm for delivery, 10 minutes later, seriously 10 minutes from time ordered to my house. I am like how did they cooked it so fast. It was so fast because it was old? Burnt chicken wings. Got the General Tao's luncheon special and hot and sour soup... The Tao's was a good size portion and was overall ok, a little different than what I am used to and not very spicy. We order from there plenty, however, recently we ordered and the delivery guy forgot our drinks, then gave us the wrong money, then today we tried ordering and when we ordered the main person who works there said " Oh great not you again." simply because we asked for the write amount of money back. I stopped in to try the food. I wanted to compare to the peaking garden a few building up on Winter St. I ordered a $9 plate and wanted beef rice instead of pork with my combo plate. I was charged $2 which is fine. The place seemed very empty and 2 guys working. Very courteous person that took my order. I was told 10 minutes and my order would be ready. I planned to eat there since it was my day off. My review is more on bad side, I noticed the trash barrel where you sit was horrificy dirty, like someone scraped food all week on the inside of it. The dine area was very dirty like someone ate weeks ago and never cleaned up. I noticed the walls inside have large writing on walls, like someone wrote names, and whatnot. Everything kind of set off a red alert that this place is not well taken care of, and probably the food is bad. God knows what the kitchen looks like. The rice was OK, and chicken wings OK, the 2 teriarki sticks I threw away , they where not fresh, the meat tasted old and you could tell the glaze was freshly put on, but meat was very old and dry. The chicken fingers I tried 1 and tasted old.The chicken had a weird taste which I also threw away.. My biggest complaint is the gift certificates. Bought a $25 certificate for a single friend for Christmas. A few weeks after, he went in and ordered about $19 worth of food. He hands them the certificate and is told he has to spend the whole amount, TOTAL RUBBISH. He left concerned that if he overspent, he didn't have enough. This is an outrage! They should have given him change, or at least a store credit. The food might be good, but they're customer service ethics are questionable to say the least since I paid them $25 cash. Unethical yes. I ordered from them for delivery. I got chicken with with broccoli, pretty hard to mess up. But it was completely tasteless and--worse--there were huge solid clots of MSG throughout.
