Hawaii Nails & Spa has been my go to nail shop since November 2022. My initial review was my first time getting service here. One year later... I'm a regular. It was only right to update my review!! I came to visit my beloved nail place for some pre birthday pampering. I was warmly greeted by one of the techs, "Hi! Welcome! It's good to see you!" The staff are all so sweet here. I wasn't prepared for such a warm and enthusiastic greeting, I nearly cried, y'all. It really made my morning! :) I arrive within an hour of opening. It wasn't very busy; I was able to sit in a pedicure chair pretty quickly after picking my color. It got busy not long after I had sat in my pedi chair. I went with the Ultimate gel pedicure w/ gel color, it includes soak, exfoliating, hot stones, and paraffin wax. It's the queen treatment! Rose was my pedi tech. She was very sweet and asked me during each process of the water was too hot, or if the stones or wax were the right temperature. After my pedicure was done, I sat at a station for a gel manicure w/ acrylics. The tech who did my manicure today, has done my nails before. I'm blanking out on her name at the moment (I'm so sorry!). She's awesome as well! She asked me what shape I want for my nails, if I need my nails filed more, or if it was they were right length. After paying for my service, and giving both gals a tip...I was good to go into the sunshine. :) The decor is really pretty and comforting. There's a blue sky on the ceiling, flat screen TVs, plants, wall pictures of palm trees at sunset and a mini waterfall fountain. It always feels like I'm on vacation when I'm here! I appreciate the wonderful staff at Hawaii Nails & Spa and staff for always being so kind, professional, and providing quality service. It was extra special being it's the day before my birthday! I've been coming here for about seven years and I love this establishment for the services they provide. TINA was AMAZING! BEST pedicure I've gotten here ever!!! I usually only get a pedicure. One thing I didn't like was that I took my daughter with me. She is 11 years old at the moment. Almost 12. I took her to get a pedicure/full set since we are going to a K-pop concert . And They asked her for her age. I didn't mind. She said 11 and I think that they didn't believe her. Then they started talking in their language , thought that was kind of rude. I have my daughter's birthday tattooed on my arm and I kindly showed the lady this is her birthday. My daughter is a tall 11-year-old.. Another thing was the services were provided by three different ladies I always tip And I think I tipped them OK and after they said $20 for all of us , I said yes split then again they started talking in their language . Next time I'm using an app to translate what they are saying. I always say tipping as an option. We already pay expensive for services . It's very clean, the atmosphere is very nice, and the pedicure chairs are super nice, however, I got the most expensive pedicure for 50 bucks, she hardly even rubbed my feet, my mom was a few minutes in front of me had her feet rubbed for way longer. It seemed like my lady was trying to be done at the same time as my mom's lady was supposed to be done but ended up ending sooner even though I started after? The pedicure seemed really basic and not worth $50. Not sure why it was rushed because they were not busy. Just disappointed, and one of the many reasons I don't try new places. read more

My friend and I went for a mani/pedi day. We didn't have an appointment as it was a last minute decision for us to do it. I understand there's a wait for non-appointments, but don't bring both us to the pedicure chair if you're not going to work on both of us at the same time. My friend was sitting there for 15 minutes until the technician acknowledged she would start on her. The whole experience was average, the reason I don't recommend this place is because after I was finished with my manicure, I went and paid for my friend and me. The total came up to $165; $85 for my total as I upgraded my pedicure and $80 for my friend. I gave the technician 2 $100 bills, she looks at it, and puts it in her pocket. No change back and just walks off. Granted, I was going to tip but not $35!!! And the services were just average. I wish I would have scheduled a later appointment with my usual salon but since Hawaii Nails & Spa were next to the restaurant we planned on going to, I decided what would it hurt. There were a variety of issues that overall lead to this poor review. 1. I made an appointment at 3:15 and arrived promptly. When I got in, there was no one at the front desk, so some of the ladies doing nails just called out, "What do you want?" And I said "I have an appointment at 3:15." And they repeated again, "What do you want?" And I said "It's for a gel mani pedi." They told me to sit down, and I ended up waiting for 20 min before someone was even available to do my nails. Why even have appointments if you can't honor the time? 2. The massage chairs you sit in for the pedicures are so uncomfortable. It was at such an extreme angle when turned off, so you HAD to turn it on in order to lean it back into an upright or slightly reclined position. There's apparently also some function in the seat of the chair that punches up into your butt and groin area. Very startling and violating-- it took forever for me to figure out how to switch that off. 3. The lady who did my nails clipped way too much of the cuticles on my hands and feet. It was pretty painful and they were bleeding and are still raw and red a few days later. 4. The workmanship is terrible!! My nails are so unevenly shaped and the polish job is clunky and pooling. I ended up having to go back to get them redone by someone else because it was so bad. I've attached photos. 5. At the end they tried to make me pay with Venmo. Why!?? So sketchy. read more

Well this is the first time I've had an issue. Pedicure was bad- pairs for higher level it was not higher level and I paid for gel on my toes as I have a wedding this weekend.. it's so bad.. I wish I hadn't paid extra for gel as I can't just take it off and repaint myself- ugggh. I will never pay extra for gel again. The color is uneven and there are sharp edges and a huge bump/clump on my big toe. The tech should have redone it and not sent me out with such a horrible job. $75 for pedicure with gel and tax and tip and no good. There is a lot of variance in their staff. The tech who did my nails (Jenny) was nice but she was on the phone the whole time she was giving me a manicure and got so distracted, that I had to remind her that she needed to put another coat of gel nail polish on my right hand, which made her feel bad and apologized for it a couple of times. She neglected to give me the hand and arm massage which was my favorite part and looked forward to after every manicure.... Not too happy with my pedicure either. Tried this place for the first time since it's right next to my gym. It appears clean and spacious. Lots of pedicure chairs! I walked in and asked for a gel manicure, not exactly sure what I wanted. I know once I sat and explained to the tech what I needed, I'd likely need some tips for length but wanted the gel dip. I don't get my nails done often so I'm certainly not an expert on how to be clear about what I want. The lady said about 15 minute wait which was fine. She calls me back after about 5 minutes and I sit where she tells me. I could tell my tech didn't speak any English what-so ever. I explained what I wanted, showing her my hands to explain that I bite my nails and really wanted something strong on my nails so they could grow. I said, "I need them just a tiny bit longer but natural looking"She smiled and said OK. She started cleaning up my nails like a normal manicure and then told me to pick a color. I asked for a color that was offered for gel dip. She said I couldn't have it. I've had gel dip with fake tips before.. did something change? So she handed me the same color options as before and stood there waiting while I chose. I asked, "are we putting tips on?" Because she was looking like all she needed to do was paint now. She had just buffed my nails with the drill (something I know they do to help the fake tips stick better) so I was really confused. Because I was asking/speaking too much she asked someone else to come over. I explained what I wanted and she said that all I asked for was a gel manicure and they didn't have anyone available to do a full set. I looked around and it appeared they had plenty of people but that's just my judgement. I told her I had explained what I wanted to the tech and she agreed to do it, so why, now that we're halfway done, are we not agreeing? Likely because the lady didn't understand what I was saying. I asked them to just finish the manicure part and to be done. She asked if I wanted to come back later, which I couldn't. If I'm rating JUST the manicure- separately from the whole situation, I'd give it 2 stars. It lasted 5-10 minutes and the hand massage was a couple seconds and was pointless. read more

I went for a deluxe mani pedi. I informed them that I would need acrylic on my big toes. Clearly they put me with their least experienced technician and I don't blame her for not knowing what she was doing. It was a very rushed and incomplete job because there was so much conversation about the acrylic toes because the technician tried to convince me I didn't need them because she couldn't do them. Finally someone else did the acrylic but my cuticles were not tended to and a thin layer of acrylic was left on my skin around each toe. All I got was a foot soak, lotion and hot rocks. That was leg treatment my feet were not well tended. The manicure! I paid for a deluxe and she never even soaked my hands never cut my cuticles and the filing she did on my nails is hideous. What I got was arm and hand massage and hot towel then she washed my hands and arms in the foot tub. The experience was disastrous.
