Really excited to try this place. Ordered the teriyaki chicken. The folks are super nice and very hardworking. Best thing about my meal was the Mac salad. I really liked how they made this item. I wasn't a fan of the teriyaki chicken. The flavor was good but a little sweet for me. I was eating it grilled without sauce and the meat was very dry. Not sure if the chicken is marinated overnight as all the color and flavor is on the surface. I think the thinnesses of the protein and potentially no marinating overnight makes a piece that small, dry, which is what I got. The rice was, well you know, white rice. I may try them again but not in a hurry.

Huli huli chicken with rice and Mac salad. DELICIOUS, JUICY, the best!

Everything we had here is so delicious!! We can't wait to go back! And don't sleep on the deep fried taro balls for dessert! Highly recommend this place! Make sure to bring cash because there are cash only and it's on the SIDE of the mini mart, not by the other food trucks.

This food truck has been on my list for quite some time. We were finally able to try it today. We arrived around noon on a Friday. Only one person ahead of us and the food came out fast. Service is friendly and prices reasonable. They take cash payments only, so plan accordingly. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and kalbi ribs. I also noticed they carry Hawaiian nectar drinks and had to get one! Both meals came with 2 scoops of rice, mac salad, and a small container of teriyaki sauce. Everything was delicious! The sauce provided was the perfect amount. The food truck is located on the side of Sunny's Market on Minnehaha. There's plenty of parking available. They also have a tent set up with table and chairs. We'll definitely be back to try other menu items. Would highly recommend.

This is a foodie joint! Lots of love and care is put into the food. Personally, I think their macaroni salad is top notch. So ono! Super friendly and helpful service.

I almost always dine at a place 2-3 times before I leave a review. This was my third time at Hawaiian Soul and I will be a regular customer. The owners of this establishment are passionate about their food and customers. Their prices are very fair and when you try the food you will wonder why hes not booked out as a private chef somewhere (I am not joking) Thank you Hawaiian Soul!

The food was incredible! Got a variety of choices to give it a try, so worth it as you can see from picture #2. Have been to Hawaii a couples times, but this may be taking first place for best Hawaiian food I've had! The service was awesome too, both the workers had great customer service! Definitely will be back soon.

*cash only* atm in the store next to the food truck. One picnic table available under a pop up tent to eat there with your friends and loved ones. Absolute treasure. The chef is from Kauai and knows what he is doing! Terrific service from him and his wife (?) The truffle French fries were amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The bread for the veggie Patty was soft, the sauce was delicious and fresh lettuce and tomato inside. The veggie Patty was a bit crispy. I'd recommend adding a bit of moisture to the recipe. I love that there is a vegetarian option. Growing up in Hawai'i I would usually just order rice and Mac salad when I went to plate lunch places. My friends ordered chicken katsu, spam musubi, and poke. They both are from Big Island and gave their approval. The desert looks small for $5 but oh my goodness, the buggahz is WORTH it!!! So much flavor and texture. Unlike anything I've had before. So creamy, yet the kulolo texture was still there. Definitely coming back!

Amazing little food truck! So glad we stopped here on our way home. Had the Huli Huli chicken and it didn't disappoint!

Every dish we tried tasted authentic and well-balanced, clearly made with care and attention to detail. Just as impressive is the extensive menu, offering a wide variety of options that make it easy for everyone in your group to find something they'll love. The portions are also very generous, leaving us completely satisfied without feeling overpriced. Speaking of value, the pricing is very fair for the quality and quantity of food you receive, which makes the experience even better. It's rare to find a place that delivers this level of quality at such reasonable prices. And you absolutely cannot skip dessert--the dessert options are amazing and the perfect way to finish the meal. Everything we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. It's not easy to find a restaurant that combines authentic flavor, great variety, generous portions, fair pricing, and excellent desserts, but Kiawe Island Bistro delivers on all fronts. We will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

My only minor gripe was that it leaned a touch salty but it didn't detract much from an otherwise really tasty bowl. It's on the spendier side but the portion size is generous enough that you'll leave satisfied. For the quality of the fish alone, I'd say it's worth it. I'd absolutely come back when the craving for solid Hawaiian food strikes.

But today, I had the time to swing by and fortunately he was open, but SOLD OUT. Fortunately, he had a few things left over. So I said yes to a mix plate. Nolan's Hawaii accent is still thick it made me feel like I was back home on the west side for a second (!!!!thank you!!!!) I met some people outside the food stand, a business man from Hawaii and some California people I mistaken were from Hawaii as well, lol. It was an awesome interaction, from the moment I got there I got greeted by strangers waiting for food, to going up to the window and asking "so what? No more nuttin left?" Nolan's response was "Nah I only get mochicko chicken and kalua, you likem?" Haha that was a definite yes! Won't miss out on home food esp if word of mouth was already out there. So I waited a few minutes for my food, and the box was heavy. Haha it felt like when you would eat at your aunty and uncles house and they pack you the party left overs. I opened my plate lunch and I was greeted by a huge portion of chicken, pork rice and Mac salad. And let me tell you, the Mac salad didn't have so much frills like what you would see in a Portland Hawaii food joint. It was sauced, and seasoned. PERFECT! No need for all the extra add ons. As I started eating, let me say that kalua pork was no joke so moist and easy to eat not even close to dried out. The chicken tasted nice and crispy with just enough marinate and fluff. I haven't found this anywhere in Oregon..until here. Yeah sure there's a poke and katsu bar in the shopping center next door... but I take the random food cart in the parking lot any day over something franchised

We wanted a drink and bite before thrifting and going to the book store. One other couple was inside. Waiter was nice but not hospitable. The ambiance is amazing - 10/10 love the vibe and decor. I ordered a drink of the mixed drinks and my husband got a margarita. The drink was so bad - neither one of us could drink it. I don't think I've ever returned a drink I can't pound before haha. It was 10 minutes before I went home to the bar to ask for something different - no one came by to ask how things were. The guava choice I picked for the second - not good. Watered down flavors of who knows. The drinks at Wahi Hanna are amazing in comparison - especially with the Dole Whip vibe. The spam fries were $9 for half a can of spam cut up and put in the oven with a side of mayo? The loco moco was promising but tasted like something you'd get at Kenjis - not a Hawaiian spot.
