Onolicious. This place reminds me of growing up on "The Mainland", with the likes of the Rainbow Drive-In. Im 3 hrs away, but the drive would be worth it. This place is cute. Hidden away on Gordon highway. It's traditional and veryyyyy good. I've eaten here twice, this time I had to review! I called in my order and was greeted very nicely with "Aloha" when I arrived. I had two separate orders which were already ready when I got there. I couldn't leave with out some guava juice! After living in Hawaii the last 5.5 years, we've been dying for some authentic Island food. This place is super chill, very pleasant staff, prices are okay and the cooks are quick. The first time we went they said they don't ferment their kimchi- that's sucks. But their cucumber kimchi is delicious though. The katsu sauce is more vinegar than I'm used to but I think that's normal and I'm just addicted to sugar. One star off purely for some of the food quality but don't let that stop you from going! Poor location on Gordon highway. Popular place for takeout. I dined in the restaurant. Menu has a lot of great sounding options, and entrees come with a choice of three sides. I decided on the Hawaiian teriyaki short ribs. Potato salad, rice and rolls were my sides. Ordering is at the counter and you pay before you get the food. While the short ribs had a good flavor, they were very tough and very little meat. Potato salad was obviously not made in house, plain white rice and store bought Hawaiian rolls. Would have been a better review if the price reflected the quality. Over $16 for a $8 meal. read more

Amazing Hawaiian food reminds me like I'm still on the islands. Very traditional Hawaiian food the teriyaki beef is amazing and the poke is the best I've had on the mainland. The also have aloha drinks so definitely try one if you have never had one. The service is always great never had a bad experience. read more

My family and I tried this place for the first time today. The people we interacted with were friendly and made sure our order was correct. The wait time was shorter than I expected. Our order contained garlic shrimp, kalua pork, and katsu pork. ALL of it was delicious!! The sides I tried were the macaroni salad, potato salad, and cucumber kimchi. I loved them all! The garlic shrimp was cooked perfectly and full of garlicky goodness. The kalua pork was tender and flavorful. The katsu pork was fabulously crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. My son especially liked the darker bbq sauce that came with it. The macaroni salad was nice and creamy but not overdressed. The potato salad was creamy with just a hint of mustard and reminded me of good deviled eggs. The cucumber kimchi was spicy without being too spicy and the cucumbers were nice and snappy. The only Hawaiian spot as far as the eye can see, but that doesn't mean they aren't good. They are great. The food is awesome and the staff is very friendly. They also cater, at least they did, you'd have to confirm. But the Katy's is amazing, the bbq chicken is very juicy and seasoned well. The Kayla pork is top notch. Very tender and juicy with amazing taste. Great local spot. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants good food. read more

Decent! Catching myself on an unexpected lunch break, I searched yelp and found myself driving to Hawaiian Style BBQ. Staff had no problem going over their menu with me when they found out i'd never had Hawaiian style bbq before. After going over their menu and getting recommendations, I decided on their regular sized Hawaiian BBQ chicken ($9.50). The chicken was a marinated chicken in teriyaki sauce and came with THREE sides. Sadly, sides were limited because i'm allergic to fish based products and couldn't have their kimchee, so with the chicken I got a Hawaiian roll, macaroni salad, and potato salad. Starting off with the chicken, it was tender, plentiful, and sat on a bed of cabbage. It also came with a teriyaki sauce that I got to put on the chicken to my heart's content. The sauce was sweet, and quite frankly it had to be, because the chicken was pretty salty. That's actually where they lose a star from me. Otherwise every other part of the dish was great, but it's hard to rate a place when you have to keep putting sauce on the entree to cover up the salt of the chicken. Customer service was nice, despite their system being out, and they allowed me to pay cash. Everyone greeted me with a smile and an aloha and music that I think was traditional Hawaiian music played in the background. Located on Gordon Hwy, getting in and out of this private lot was actually pretty easy at lunch. I have no idea how busy it is at night though, so take that under consideration. Would I go back to Hawaiian Style BBQ? Absolutely, if I were still in the Augusta area I would. I would love to try another dish that hopefully wasn't as salty. Beyond that though, I do think I wouldn't order the chicken again. I'd recommend if you're in the area and want something different, they may have what you need. read more

This inconspicuous joint on Gordon Highway is a local staple. Many local and military patrons fill the restaurant every time the doors are open. A visiting tattoo artist was hyping up the spam musubi, so I wanted to give it a try. The musubi was warm, tightly wrapped, and perfect. The spam inside this dish was wonderfully seasoned, and each bite of this rice and seaweed treat was a delight. That took the edge off my hunger, but I still had the Hawaiian Chicken bowl to go. Luckily, I ordered a small chicken bowl and not a large. The small bowl came with rice and cooked cabbage and sadly I was unable to finish the flavorful dish. The line was already five people deep when I came in. I ordered takeout inside and the cashier told me she would text when it was ready. The entire ordered included appetizer, entree, and a very large unsweet tea for only $12.95. The tea was a little strong, so the brand might not be the usual Lipton or whatever we drink in this region. I sat in my car for less than 20 minutes before the text came through, then I pulled up to the drive-through window and headed out. This was a return visit, and I will definitely be back. read more
