Delicious Hawaiian food in Manassas. The location makes you question if you are in the right place but the food is soooo good! I tried the spicy teriyaki platter multiple times and it hits the spot every time. Shout-out to the Mac and cheese as well. Everything is made to order so expect a bit of wait especially around rush time. Limited seating in store but their takeout packaging is good enough - just make sure you eat it hot
We had a pretty good experience with delivery. I think next time we'll wanna eat there so that the pork cutlet and the beef is fresh. It was very unique with the Korean Sion and the portion sizes were good. I really like the spam musubi.
Awesome spam and hawaiian place in Manassas! Little quaint hole in a wall place with cheap but hefty portions. Great customer service. I saw them handle a weird and rude customer so easily. Their bulgogi fries are a fave.
A cozy little spot that has FABULOUS food. Comfortable, and reasonably priced for the portions, with kind staff. Would definitely return :) got the spicy pork loco bowl, pork curry rice, and spam musubi. Everything was fresh, the meat was tender and well-seasoned. The pork had a lovely heat without being so spicy it hurts. Lol my only qualm is that I don't live here so I can't make this a regular spot I come to!
Love the food here. I ordered the teriyaki chicken combo. Their Mac salad is great. They give you a huge portion. So worth the price. Would definitely go back.
First time here, we have missed having a good Loco moco and musibi. Since we don't live in the area we decided to try several menu items. The portions are great, the food is fresh and very flavorful. We have a lot of leftovers to enjoy! When we are in the area again we will definitely return!!
Great food here and the service is good too. We had food here few times and there's quite a few selection here. The bulgogi is very tasty and the side dishes are great too.
Pleasantly surprised!!! Well done! So now that I have that out the way, any islander will know that this food is more Hawaiian-adjacent than actual Hawaiian cuisine. Not that that's at all bad. The ingredients and presentation are all on point. I ordered the bulgogi meat plate with a slaw, mac salad, rice & a healthy portion of bulgogi-ish meat. Seriously, it's so good, but it's not really the kind of conventional or even fusion Hawaiian food. But it's really good. Kudos!!! I will definitely go back!
Holy smokes, this is an awesome spot. I got their spam musubi for takeout and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce on top was tasty, and it's kind of filling, they def don't skimp. I'll have to return and try their bigger entrees cause if it's the same quality, then I know I'll have a great time. It's chill vibes inside with some chairs and seats, and the workers were hard at work making the food.
This place is legit! As good as (if not better) than anything I have ever had on Oahu. The Mac salad was perfect as was the slaw. The spam musibi was absolutely delicious. I am only visiting here for work but I would come back just to go here again.
Today was my first time stopping by this location. I craved chicken teriyaki when I got up this morning, but I didn't want to drive all the way down by the mall to get some. So I was looking into places that had chicken teriyaki on their menu and this place popped up. Since I had to go in-town to visit a USPS store anyways, it all worked out in my favor. I stopped in and got a "Teriyaki Loco" Platter to-go. The item was $14.49, and came out to near $16 after taxes. The staff was super friendly to everyone, and the order was well-packed, with napkins and utensils included in the bag. I was asked at checkout if I had a card to stamp. I stated it was my first visit and the staff member I was speaking with happily explained that they gave out cards which had benefits on them for every few visits to the store that you made. This is a great bonus to draw in more repeat customers. The food was good. The chicken teriyaki was tender and flavorful. It didn't blow me away with any unique or outstanding flavors. It had a generic to-be-expected taste to it, but usually that's just what everybody wants. It was great! I happily ate it, and at the end of the meal was thoroughly pleased and full. The white rice paired nicely, and was cooked good - no clumps or crunchy bits. The mac & cheese on the side was really great! I found that to be an item I was reaching for the most. The restaurant was decently busy, but not crowded. There were a few groups of ones and twos popping in to pick up their pre-ordered food, and place new orders, while I was waiting for my food. This place was by no means a stagnant location, even though it's in the corner of the shopping center. There were a few decorations on the walls and a beautiful fan on the ceiling. There were some nice stickers on the walls, lights strung up, and general Hawaiian shaped decor placed about, but the vibe of out-there Hawaiian feel was a bit lacking. Don't expect an all-out experience! It's more of a order-n-go kind of place. The kitchen had a nice open layout where you could see your food being made, and it was a nice to see that again - most places have everything walled off these days. I enjoyed my time here. The location was easily found. The staff was friendly and inviting. The food was packaged well, with all included necessities. The food was delicious with no issues experienced. All-in-all, a great location. I hope everyone gives this place a try at least once.
I came here for my birthday dinner, and it was such a great comfort Hawaiian/Korean joint! First off, this spam musubi is the best I've ever had - including ones I tried in Hawaii! The loco moco was good, the platter portion is definitely hefty and can feed two people. I wish the gravy was more peppery, but otherwise takes me back to Hawaii :) The soy garlic pork was also delicious. While it may seem like no-frills on the outside, please come and support this local restaurant, the owners are incredibly kind!
Looking for unique food before going to Dulles to fly out. Yelped and decided to try HawaU. So glad we did!! Seems like a blend of Hawaiian and Korean food. The place is a little hard to find but the food was amazing. Inexpensive, family run, just awesome flavors. We got the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, Spicy Pork, and Refukar teriyaki. The flavors were so unique and awesome. Highly recommend if you are looking for unique food, prepared by people that clearly know their cuisine. Awesome to that it is fast and cheap. Highly Recommend

My family and friends and i went here recently and the place and the food are so good! Everything we had was good. So good that i forgot to take pictures. The food is super fresh. You can even see them making it. The staff is super kind and they make sure you are taken care of. Also they have a ton of flavor drinks! It was nice that they had something else other than the regular coke products. My favorite was the Musubi and the Bulgogi fries! You can tell they make that with love. Def a hidden gem! read more
My cousin wanted to eat at a Hawaiian place for his birthday and this is one of the few places around that had everything he wanted! Pretty surprised to find it just off Liberia in Manassas. The place was on the smaller side, seats around 14-16 people. Their menu isn't super big but it has all the stuff you could want if you're looking for Hawaiian food. The 9 of us ordered most of the menu but me and my girlfriend got the Loco Moco platter and the Bulgogi Loco bowl with two of the special lemonades (mixed berry I believe) and two spam musubi. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is but the food did not disappoint. You can't really mess up loco moco but they really killed it with all our food. The egg was nice and runny, gravy and beef were hearty and the rice was perfect. Musubi serving was big (we got two though) and also made perfectly. The lemonade wasn't too tart either which was a plus. The staff here was super nice and accommodating to us and even got lollipops for the kids and took a family picture for us. Ordered for lunch to-go at this newly-opened place. Since it was a little busy, it took a little while to have my orders (Chicken Loco and Katsu Loco) but it was okay. The servings were huge and the food was delicious! It is really obvious that they take extra care in preparing their food. Would I go back soon? Absolutely! read more
I don't often crave Hawaiian or Asian fusion, but this place is the first spot that kept me wanting more. Even after visiting Hawaii and trying their spam musubi's there, I like the ones here much better. I ordered a regular spam musubi and the chicken teriyaki bowl. The chicken came out so tender and the teriyaki sauce was so savory, perfectly complimented with the classic sides of mac salad and sliced cabbage slaw. Of note, it took a long time to get my food. Only one person in line before me but took my order almost 25 minutes. Not sure what the delay was, but honestly, once I tasted the food, it didn't matter. I highly suggest you try this place out, unless you're in a rush. read more
Very happy with the food and experience at this new restaurant in Manassas. I personally have been waiting for more of a food variety in this area so I was very excited to try it out once I heard about it's opening. I ordered spam musubi, popcorn chicken, and chicken loco. I tried the orange sauce and red sauce. My favorite was the spam musubi- that was very good and very filling. 1 spam musubi is cut in half to give you two 'rolls'. It's topped with orange sauce and that combo was my favorite! Super delicious! I didn't enjoy the red sauce too much, I like spicy so that's why I got it but it just didn't seem to fit the meal flavor palette too well, in my opinion. The popcorn chicken and chicken loco have the same fried chicken in it which i'm not sure why I expected different but they are the same size and taste from what I experienced. They both taste great and serve large in portions! My overall rating is a 4/5 with great food and a great experience (they made my food quick!). Definitely will be back for more spam musubi read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. This place is located in some random center full of auto body shops but HawaU is a hit. I haven't had the taste of "home" in over a decade but sitting here with the Loco Moco and Chicken Katsu took me back to the L&L and Rainbow Drive In days. The gravy on the moco was fantastic (perfectly seasoned and piping hot) and the katsu's crust was perfect. The musubi was great as well - definitely a larger portion than I expected. We paid under $30 for two full dishes and the musubi. Overall a definite new favorite! read more

The chicken loco was 5/5 would def come again! Super crispy and JUICYYY!! I got the brown and green sauce - both delicious Sides were also amazing and great deal price wise My friend got the loco moco which I tried a bit of. Ahh love love the spam musubi here!! The spicy mayo on top was perfect. I'm usually sensitive to salty food so I was scared to try this. The spam was more on the tender sweeter side. Some saltiness but not extremely salty like other spam musubis I've had. We also tried the loco moco dish but that was just meh. Just make sure to get the spam musubi when you come here. Don't let the picture deceive you, they're small musubis so you may still be hungry. I eat like a rabbit so this was the perfect portion for me. Service was good. Friendly, fun, tasty, fast! Was feeling like some musabi and nearby. This place exceeded expectations! The block of stores felt like industrial or warehouses but inside the store was comfortable window seating at stools, self service tables, fun music, bright and clean. One wall was decorated with store motto and lit for selfies. Had lots of drink selections in upright fridges. I ordered at the counter - got the musabi and fries with various dipping sauces. It was so good! Recommended, the fries were super hot and crisp, generous serving size. I got the double musabi and it was too much but I ate it all anyway! You may want to restrain yourself despite the great prices, do not order too much! Just go back and get more on your next trip! I got to hear many people ordering and everyone looked like repeat customers, popular for the non musabi dishes too, I'll need to try them next time. Good location not far from Manassas National Battlefield- work up an appetite hiking and come get refueled and relaxed! Recommend, great service, tasty, relaxing! I've been here already a handful of times and I'm hooked! The food is really good and at a great price. The musubi is fresh, the loco mocos are on point and the staff are super friendly. Pretty cool place to pop in to have lunch with friends or coworkers. read more

From the outside it looks like a regular shop in a plain shopping center. I came here for the first time to try out the food and everything was amazing! We had the berry lemonade which was extremely refreshing. It had the perfect balance of sweet and sour with real blueberries in it! My friend and I got the tonkatsu and chicken dish and both were cooked perfectly. The cashier was super nice and informative describing everything. He let us have all four sauces to taste! My favorite was the red sauce which was a little spicy. The spicy mayo was also delicious with the fries and you get a large portion! There are several tables inside for seating. This is one of the best spots to try out in Manassas! read more
The rice is good and fresh, the katsu hot and crispy, the brown sauce for it is good! The red sauce is a Korean chili style with both sweetness and spicy - get it on the side. The spam musubi is amazing, but so filling. I can see having an order of musubi and the lemonade for a special lunch. I had a bowl and can't imagine getting a platter and an order of musubi unless sharing with someone. It's great to see a family cafe with so much care and passion given to the food. Doesn't look like much as you drive up or drive passed it. BUT you need to make a hard right or drift a U-Turn to try this place!!!!! It is a Korean x Hawaiian Fusion and the flavors and preparation are impeccable. I just came back from Hawaii. Being an Elite yelper, there was no doubt I scouted the most highly rated places on the Island including local favorites! I had my fair share of Musibi in Hawaii from 7 Eleven to specialized shops around the Island I believe Musibi to be a dish where every piece of the dish matters. If one part of Musibi is bad it can easily go down hill. The Musibi I had here was some of the best I've had even in comparison to Hawaii local favorites. Rice: Executed perfectly to sticky but some how almost Al dente rice with a lovely texture. Seaweed was just right. Not too dry or too moist. The spam (the part I was worried about) tasted like it just came off of the grill still warm, salty, and juicy. The egg: fluffy!!!! MOIST!!!! BOUNCY!!!!! (You see where this is going) Seasonings: aside from Furikake which gives it the extra umami and addition textures. There was a sauce on the Musubi that just mixed so well with the rest if Musibi pieces. The sauce balanced the saltiness. Filled the gap where the rice can get boring at times. Then the seaweed pulls you back reminding you of the fresh ocean flavors. This little oomph of flavor boost really sets many of the Musibi apart but it's also the preparation of all the parts of it. The Loco Moco...such a simple comforting dish. They execute with the same level of care for every part of the dish. The grilled pineapple gives you relief and contrast from The gravy which has great umami. The beef is juicy and SEASONED. The pickled jalapeños and cherry tomato was a nice touch. I appreciated the lightness of the macaroni! The rice was again cooked to perfection. This is place that should all over the DMV. There are not many Hawaiian places in my opinion that can give you that repeated experience you wan to keep coming back for. I highly recommend trying this place! I was running an errand with a friend in Manassas, VA and we decided to stop by HawaU for lunch! We had been hearing about it and seeing friends post on the 'gram about it so we were excited to try it for ourselves! We were pretty hungry so we ordered a decent portion of the menu - and here is what I think about them below: Loco Moco Platter - Beef & Pork Patty with Gravy - The meat was extremely soft and melted in my mouth, and the gravy has great flavor and perfect consistency! Ordered this on recommendation of the friendly staff. It was served with an egg on top, as well as a ring of pineapple. It also came with rice, Mac Salad, and Cabbage salad. Chicken Loco Platter - Fried Chicken with Choice of Sauce - This was my favorite dish of the day! The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy. We chose brown sauce (teriyaki base) for the sauce choice, which I liked. It was also served with the same rice, Mac Salad, and Cabbage Salad - all of which taste great, and complement the dish nicely. Spam Musubi - I was pleasantly surprised by the Spam Musubi as the portion size was better than expected. We ordered 2 for $7 in the picture included. As you can see, ordering 1 comes with 4 multi-bite-sized pieces of spam musubi, which has sauces and seasonings sprinkled on top - with a slice of egg and spam in the middle, along with rice and seaweed wrapping. EDIT: Apparently we ordered 4 for $14! Popcorn Chicken & Fries - Comes with pieces of popcorn chicken mixed with Fries. The popcorn chicken goes well with the house sauces and it is crunchy. Special Drink of the Day - Blueberry Lemonade - The drink of the day on the day we went happened to be blueberry lemonade. It was sweet, cold, and refreshing but ran out quite quickly between the two of us. Overall, I enjoyed eating here, visiting, and experiencing the food. The staff at the front was friendly. We splurged out and bought a bunch of the menu so we definitely had to take home leftovers to finish it. We bought platters and we were told the difference between the bowl and the platter was just portion size. Definitely a decent place to treat yourself! read more

New restaurant alert!!! (Long review) So today (4/27/2022) I had to head back to Charlotte, NC to finish cleaning my old house. Since I woke up late, I decided to go eat somewhere but didn't know where. Didn't want any fast food and I wanted to support small local business. I was driving by Manassas area and looked up where to eat. A restaurant called HawaU popped up so I decided to try them out. I walked inside and everyone was super nice. The cashier told me they had just opened up on Monday (4/25/2022) and are still doing a soft opening. They serve Hawaiian food with a fusion twist! Since they're in their soft opening phase, they didn't have much on the menu. But still enough to get full!! I ordered the Loco Moco which is what they're known for and also the chicken bites! Both dishes were amazing!! I wanted to try other plates but didn't want to get food coma since I had to drive 7 hours lol. I asked the cashier when the grand opening will be and she said in 2 to 3 weeks. And they'll offer more menu items! I can't wait to try the rest of the dishes when they have a grand opening!! This place is located in a very lowkey area, but there's lots of space for parking! The staff were very friendly and attentive. We got the spam musubi, which was more filling than I thought because of their size. We also got the loco moco and katsu. Both options were delicious, especially with the sauces. Each dish serves a good portion for the price! read more

Had lunch, Bulgogi platter, no rice, double macaroni salad. Very pleasant gentleman took our order, substituted extra macaroni salad for the rice, with no extra charge. The outside may not look like much but trust me, the food is fantastic! A Hawaiian korean fusion I suppose. Not a huge menu to chose from...katsu, chicken, and spam masubi. With choice of sauces. Bowl or platter, we got the bowls and it was pretty filling. The spiciest sauce had a small kick to it, but as spicy as I would like but still yummy! Everything was made fresh and very delicious! Good not great. If you're in the area and are craving Hawaiian food; this place can scratch that itch. However, it's just okay. Would not make another 30 min trip for this, only if I happen to be around. The Mac salad was good, and the katsu had a great crust. The spam in the Musubi felt too soft/ could've used more time on the grill. I would not recommend the popcorn chicken and fries if you're more interested in the chicken. The popcorn chicken tasted mainly of bread, almost like a hush puppy. The fries were crispy and paired well with the sauces. I also tried my friend's loco moco which was tender, but didn't have enough to write a review on. They are a new place and seemed limited in staff, so expect about a 20-30 min wait after your order. read more

Not many Hawaiian food places around but this place is legit! The food was bomb and delicious. Reasonable prices and great portion sizes, very fulfilling. The spam musubi is huge! Place is pretty clean but a little outdated, and the outside looks a little shady. Food is made to cook so will be a small wait time. Friendly staff and great food! read more
