    DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER
    Kelly Z.

Very popular restaurant but the service was incredibly slow. We went on a Saturday night and it was so busy. It took forever to get our drinks despite most of us ordering bottled beer and sodas. It also took forever to get our food. Server did not ask how I wanted the double cheeseburger cooked and it came out sort of medium raw and kind of pink. Food was ok but service not good. It's kind of a cowboy type of theme lots of people wearing boots and cowboy hats.

The restaurant is beautifully themed. Although, upon first entering one of the hostess girls we interacted with could have been more helpful. We went for the cowgirl dinner which was a $30 special with a 5 oz steak, side of caeser salad, and beef tallow fries. You also had the choice of a drink. The lemon drop is not for the faint of heart (or light weight) and the hibiscus haze was tart. The queso blanco is excellent. Overall, would love to go back and try other items.

Second time visiting and otra vez tuvimos una excelente experiencia! Waylon has taken care of us both times, y de verdad es todo un caballero. He's always so friendly and attentive, and of course, siempre rocking his cowboy hat . La comida estuvo deliciosa, the atmosphere was great, and once again we left very happy. Definitely will be back! Also the bread pudding

*Happy Hour Review* Stopped in for the first time recently to the San Antonio location of Haywire...I've previously had an underwhelming brunch experience at the Houston location so I was a little skeptical but Im happy to report this location was a huge step up. Immediately upon walking in I fell in love with the rustic yet elegant decor (those chandeliers tho). My girlfriends and I sat at the bar and enjoyed great service during our entire 3 hour visit there. The cocktail and bites we enjoyed were all delicious. During happy hour there are select cocktail and bites you can enjoy for $7 each. My drink of choice for the evening was the perfectly balanced Berry Smash . I was torn on bites but ended up going with the Happy Hour sliders and the pork belly appetizer from the regular menu. Both were soooo good...particularly the Pork Belly which was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory. This visit redeemed Haywire in my eyes and I'm looking forward to returning during regular hours to explore more of the menu during dinner service.

My mom, sister and I decided to dine here at Haywire specifically for the cowgirl dinner! All three of us got the same meal and it came with an alcoholic beverage, steak, caesar salad, and fries. Everything was good and we even got the ceviche and Porkbelly bites as appetizers! It is a really nice restaurant with good service!

We were seated right away even though we arrived early, and the service felt warm and welcoming from the start. The Texas-themed setting was cute and comfortable, with a relaxed noise level, and while most of the food was just average, the double pork chop was the clear standout. Remaining pork chop will go into my breakfast taco tomorrow.

What a great first meal. Staff seated us quickly, promptly greeted and water in hand in less than 5 min. Wonderful first impression. Ordered an assortment of options. But truly adored and will be back for the hash and orange/cinnamon pancakes. So wonderful and unforgettable. Thanks to our server and the entire staff. We will be returning.

I really wanted to love Haywire but it was unfortunately a disappointing experience. I was visiting SATX and saw the Cowgirl Dinner advertised heavily on social media, so I was eager to try it and the $30 price made it even more intriguing. Unfortunately it fell flat of expectations and the photos and our very sweet server and hostesses were the only redeeming parts. Starting with the ambience, upon arriving to our reservation for 8:30, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes until we were seated after many other parties. I understand that things can get busy with walk-ins but it was a bit frustrating to stand waiting until the limited lobby seating opened up for us to then wait another 20 minutes for a table we reserved to finally open up. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and the chandeliers and beautiful booth seating plus the partially-open kitchen setup is nice to look at however, and I can see why this spot is appealing as a girls night out dinner spot. The hostesses were very sweet and our server was kind as well, which made the experience better. However, the Cowgirl Dinner was disappointing and I would have preferred to pay double for a decent meal. The steak was very dry and bland, and I don't know that it was seasoned at all. The salad was also somehow dry and felt stale, and the fries were fine but nothing extraordinary. We also got a mac & cheese on the side to split which was also oddly bland and watery. I desperately wanted to enjoy this meal but it really just fell flat. I would recommend Texas Roadhouse before I would probably go here again unfortunately, and it may just be the Cowgirl Dinner specifically which is not the best, since I have not been here before. Although it photographed beautifully, it unfortunately was not as great as the videos made it seem.

Came to Haywire with family visiting from Cali! We went for the here for Cowgirls Dinner special for Happy Hour (3-6) and boy was it Happy. The appetizers and desserts were so good, the waiter was fantastic and drinks were fabulous! Even made friends with our table neighbors!!

OH Cowgirl Dinner, you were so devine! You CANNOT beat their amazing March deal which scores you a 5 oz steak with roasted garlic butter, tallow fries, side classic caesar salad and a dirty martini or lemon drop martini! Just WOW! All that for $30! Everything that was there was delicious and their caesar salad was something else! Much different flavor combinations than other places that I've had elsewhere! Came for "dinner" during lunch hour and it was just so perfect as it wasn't super busy that we basically had a giant table just for ourselves! Including my wild toddler who decided to not eat except for fries, ha! Our server was amazing and was on par with making sure we had everything we needed! Also, they had kids menu with crayons and a coloring sheet with menu included. The aesthetic of this place over all was giving country modern, it very much a vibe!! Restaurant itself was very kid friendly, thankfully! Parking: usual mall parking but since going on a weekday, it was definitely easier than weekend parking. Would love to come back and try more offerings!!

The breakfast was really great. Hint of jalapeño in the gravy and the biscuit. The bacon was thick although it was just one piece. Also have the chilaquiles which had a bit of a bite but wonderful. Love the western decor and layout of the place! Service was awesome too. Make reservations to avoid the lines

My wife and I went on a date here and got steaks. I will say the steak was perfectly cooked as I wanted it, and had a great sear on the outside and medium on the inside. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of a few issues. The first issue is that my wife and I had a reservation and still had to wait close to 30 minutes to be seated. I'd understand maybe 10 minutes or less, but a 30 minute wait with a reservation felt too long. The other reason I did not give it a 5 star is because of the fries. They were sitting ready to be taken to the customers in the kitchen, and we got some that tasted like they were sitting for too long and were stale and not that great since they were not fresh. The third issue was that we bought a bottle of wine, a bubbly one, and it was hot, so the first pour was not that great. But once it was in the ice, it tasted much better. Overall, this place is great, awesome on the inside, it just had a few issues that made the experience less than spectacular.

Make sure to inquire about getting parking validation, as my license plate was recognized by the parking service company even though I didn't get any kind of paper ticket. The menu was clubhouse fare, nothing too fancy, which was fine. We shared a Caesar salad, which they split for us into two bowls. The bowls were high sided like soup bowls. Not ideal but it was fine. I really liked the cornbread croutons, and I'm usually not a crouton eater. For my meal I got a cheeseburger with upgraded sweet potato waffle fries. I think my daughter got a grilled chicken burger, I can't recall. Service was great as we were the only people in the restaurant for a while. Or crazy about the country music pumped right at us, but I guess they think that's the kind of music that should be played for the setting? The caramelized onions ended up giving a similar consistency with the burger it just had no distinction to it. And our waitress was very nice and attentive.
