Grandma wanted burgers, so I picked one of the top searches in Waco. Whizzbang's Hamburgers is located within Waco's food hall - Union Hall. Straightforward menu which includes a vegetarian, turkey, and beef patties so everyone can enjoy a burger! These burgers hit the spot and Grandma finished every bite! You have to really knock my socks off before I review a place after just one visit. Ordinarily, I try to visit twice so as to get a real feel for the consistency of a restaurant's food, service, etc. But, I'm here from out of town, and am pretty damn impressed. A good burger is my absolute favorite thing. Don't give me some small ass, overpriced "designer burger" (I'm looking at you, Hopdoddy BurgerFi, and others); give me - as Jimmy Buffett would sing - a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat. This place didn't disappoint there, as long as you opt for the double. Oh, and do yourself a favor: "whizzbang your burger"; you won't regret it. The sauce is finger licking amazing. The fries are also excellent. They have a light beer battered texture, were crunchy and firm. No soggy, limp fries in the entire batch. So, why not the 5th star? Pricing. I'm not huge on having to buy the burger and fries separately. If I'm going to make a separate purchase of fries...there's gotta be MORE OF THEM. I could have eaten an entire second batch. Hamburgers were ok. Onions rings were awful. We had 2 jr burgers and 2 regular cheese burgers with 1 onion rings and 3 fries. 2 sodas and 2 waters. I personally think $75 for that is too much especially at a walk up order, walk around the corner and find the drink station to fill your drink, take back to a seat, go back up to the order and grab your hamburgers and back to your seat ... just too much to pay in an open concept mall type group of restaurants. Not to mention the person who took our order I believe was possibly one of Elon Musk's first robots Personality zero. She asked for what I want on the hamburger, I told her and then told her to make that times 2. She asked me if I wanted a drink. I said water and she said what do you want on the second hamburger I said just the same way with the water also she said do you want mayo mustard on it? I said mustard she said do you want lettuce, tomatoes and onions? I said yes then she asked if I want a drink with it, I said water. Literally she looked straight ahead as if she couldn't hear anything else but answers to her question it made no difference I said the same for both several times. Then my husband stepped forward not hearing what just transpired and he went through the same issue as I. Both cheeseburgers both fries both soda. There was no thank you, no pleasantries, no smiles, nothing. Mmmm holy moly...you have to try the wiz bang fries... insanely good. Maybe I'm just hungry but I've never had anything better. Burger with no bun because I have celiac so ignore that messiness. But oh my gosh the patty is so fresh and hot.. beautifully displayed in my opinion. Smells great. Tastes great. Nice employees. Great service all around. I will be coming back for sure! read more

Whizzbang's Hamburgers Ordered the single patty Whizzbang's Hamburger which was pretty tasty along with French Fries and Onion Rings. All the food was for takeout and still good till we got back to the hotel. Steve some fries in the car. Just not comfortable yet eating out during covid19 ,but this place is located inside the new beautiful Union Hall. The issue was how long it took to get the food. While visiting the Silo area, I opted to get a burger among all the choices offered, and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner/chef was a conversationalist, but he made the burgers fresh, and they were ready within 10 minutes. Basically, it was an old-school burger with crisp lettuce and tomatoes with a slice of cheese. It was greasy enough to add to the flavor but didn't destroy the buns. I would have preferred some old-school greasy fries, but potato chips were all that were offered. Finally, the burger was good in that setting.
