I had never heard the word "fractious" until I read through the records from my dog's vet a few weeks ago. Turns out that it's the perfect word to describe Prince Jr: "fractious" means difficult and unruly. For real: Groomers pretend they've gone out of business when I try to book a repeat appointment for Prince Jr. If they agree to see him again, it's because we've got a "no nails" clause in place. Quinn is the only groomer who a) puts up with him and b) he puts up with. He is happy, sweet-smelling and soft when I pick him up, and most miraculously, his nails are short. My difficult and unruly dog lets Quinn cut his nails, and that's a gazillion-star feat. read more

We have been a loyal Healthy Spot customer for three years, but after our recent grooming, I'm BEYOND disappointed. I would not recommended anyone take their dog here. I gave clear instructions: shave 75% of his body, trim 50% of his head, and 75% of his tail shaved. I also requested a slight trim of his ears and beard, and emphasized not trimming his face. When I picked him up, the haircut was nothing like what I requested: * The top of his head was shaved off. * His ears were left matted and uncut. * His face was fully cut. * His tail was only partially shaved, and his back thighs were left long. To make matters worse, our dog woke up at 4 a.m. vomiting large chunks of hair, suggesting the groomer allowed him to ingest hair during the appointment, putting him at risk of a bowel obstruction. Never once has this happened in the past. Who would let a dog eat the hair as you cut them?? We paid $262 for this grooming, and it was not only a failure to follow instructions but also a safety concern for Rocket. I'm incredibly disappointed and hope Healthy Spot addresses this issue. Unfortunately we got another bad quality batch and I want to document it here again so you can make a decision for your own preference. Stuck with them through thick and thin and at this point I've chosen to no longer purchase due to quality issues. The Small Batch Food Company is really the vendor that this review is for since Healthy Spot sells their bulk patties. However, Healthy Spot is not off the hook with me; the main selling point that Healthy Spot was advertising was the whole "highest quality" pitch. What Healthy Spot was saying was that this food was so regulated that we would firstly, never have an issue since they're standards are so high. Also, (secondly) that Healthy Spot claimed they wouldn't work with someone who did not have consistent high-standard quality. We started buying this food because Just Food For Dogs had a listeria outbreak that was ongoing for over a month and they were withholding the info to customers to maintain sales. It caused so much harm to our lives at the time. We just needed something reliable and safe. With all that in mind, I feel that showing you photos of what we received over time is the best way to help provide transparency with our experience. Also, I did have other batches that would randomly have plastic or questionable mold. It was just a slow unwind of trust over the past few years. Lastly, I noticed that the prices here at this location are high and that's understandable for the area. They usually only carry small sizes of things we need. However, going on Amazon you'll conveniently find the larger items at the same prices (or cheaper) and usually it'll get delivered right to you. Just wanted to be helpful and provide options! Hoping that no one else has this experience and we have decided to cook pup meals at home and it is going incredibly well. Also, this new hands on method has created more ways to bond with my pup. Beats the worry of low quality food and wondering what batch you'll end up with. Best of luck in always getting the best for your fur babies! Quinn is a MIRACLE WORKER! I have a small chihuahua dachshund mix that hates 99% of people. While he wouldn't bite, he normally growls and shows teeth around new folks, but Quinn has cast a magical spell on him that makes him completely normal for the duration of his visit at Healthy Spot. I've been coming to this location for the last 5 years since adopting my pup, Foxy Brown. I was guided by the staff as to what foods would be best for her. Because of the great customer service, we keep coming back. While my pup is short hair and doesn't require frequent full professional baths, I only trust Quinn to do her routine nail grinding (she's the only one who could get her nails super short safely). I would not recommend using them for their grooming services. This is the 2nd time in less than 6 months where I have had an appointment, the first time was a week before and this time 3 days before the appointment, and they called and said I needed to reschedule since their groomer left unexpectedly. I have been using HealthySpot for more than 12 years, probably more like 15 years since I used a different location prior to this one, and have gone through I don't know how many groomers. They can't seem to get them to stay and they leave with less than a professional time frame. I am not sure if they are being fired or if they just walk out. Needless to say, it is not an acceptable way to run a business. I spoke with the Store Manager about these past 2 experiences and basically just got attitude and nothing else. I asked to speak with the Director over the store, Regional Manager or whatever the term is they use, and I got an email. They are unavailable by phone. Today I was informed that my appointment in 3 days needs to be rescheduled and that does me no good since I am leaving for Europe in 5 days and the next appointment is in 8 days. They seem to think we are not working and can just drop whatever we have going on to accommodate their schedule. For a place that charges premium prices, I would expect a bit better customer service. read more

I take my baby to get groomed here and Quinn always does the most amazing job! He smells so good for days after and looks and feels so clean! She is sooooo sweet to him! Super friendly staff and great selection of pet supplies.. I called to ask if they had the K9 sport sack in stock because I wanted to take my dog for a bike ride. Tina was very knowledgeable about the product, and offered to look up the specific style and size I wanted at other nearby Healthy spot locations incase the one they had didn't fit. Prior to this, I tried calling Petco and Petsmart stores in the area to see if they had any type of dog backpack. The employees at these stores were unable to look up specific items at any other locations, which was a little frustrating because I had to call 4 different numbers and was put on hold each time. Luckily this Healthy Spot had the item I wanted. I put it on hold and drove right over to try it on in store. Tina and two other employees helped me out, and made the shopping experience so much more fun. They offered my dog treats and lots of encouragement so she'd feel more comfortable going inside the backpack for the first time. We were able to use it on a bike ride later that day.
