I just drove way out of my way to pay a second visit to Healthy Yums. The 1st impression I had was so great I had to come back. This resturant is excellant in every regard. They have a scratch bakery, home made nut butters, fresh churned butter & milled flour w/ many organic options. I had the Pancake the 1st visit & the waffle this visit. Both times I had them w/ scrambled eggs & potatoes. I had a cup of tea the 1st time & a ginger snap smoothie this time. I loved the eggs & potatoes both times & the waffel is so delicious & filling, but I have to say I liked the Pancake just a tad bit more. A very friendly, fellow customer asked me what I got & recommended the omelette w/ onions, peppers, broccoli & cheese. I think that it will be my next choice when I go back. We tried carry-out from Healthyums today. The food and service were terrific. I had the meaty chili and a sesame bar. My wife had a breakfast sandwich with turmeric tea. She could not say enough good things about the food. My chili was delicious and obviously homemade. The sesame bar was a perfect dessert after the chili. There is so much more I want to try. Best of all was the service. They were attentive, kind and extremely helpful. We're looking forward to returning. read more

This was a wonderful place to visit! They have a vegan menu as well as an allergen menu, allowing us to see all of the food items we could eat. We satisfied our sweet tooth with the vegan gluten free cheesecake (Wow! Such smooth texture!) and cookie. Best of all, they were sweetened with natural sweeteners! I had the ratatouille and my daughter had the Philly cheese steak. Both were delicious, i especially enjoyed the flavor of the ratatouille. On a previous visit I've had one of their smoothies and my daughter had a milkshake, they really know how to make fruit and veggies taste delicious. First of all, if you are familiar with Zion at all, you will know that this restaurant is in the same place as the old Cake Box Bakery used to be. Now onto the review. My husband and I tried this place and brought my husband's son and his family specifically because they have organic options. My step-son had the organic bison burger, my step-daughter in law had a stir fry with organic veggies and a cup of the portabella mushroom soup , two of their children had organic mini bison burgers (they each split one meal, so each child had 2 mini burgers), my husband had a chicken salad sandwich AND a sloppy joe (made with organic meats), and I ate a stir fry as well. All of it was freshly made and delicious. The bread served with the meal is made by them and their butter is exceptionally good. Their butter is organic as well as made by them. The service was handled by the owner's family. The little one served us our waters and the young lady took our orders. Everything was accurate, so she did a nice job. What?! Vegan and Gluten free options in Zion? And they taste good?! Yes! It is for real! It's a mystery that a place like this survives in a place like Zion, but my wife and I are glad that it does! Typically if we want vegan food, we have to head toward Milwaukee or Chicago, but this place lies within 5 minutes from our home. The pizza is great. It's all we've had from there so far, but from reading the menu items and the quality of their ingredients as well as the the effort put into it all, we are definitely looking forward to exploring the menu some more. Really glad I found this place on yelp, I wanted to try the whole menu, but after sharing pizza bread and having a bowl of chili (and a hot chocolate) I was so full. The chili came with 2 perfectly sized gluten free rolls, and coconut butter. Gluten free bread has the tendency to be grainy and just a little 'off' but these were amazing! They have an incredibly allergy friendly menu, I wish there was one in LA too! I got some of the vegan gluten free cheesecake to go, and I'm sure it will be delicious as well! read more

This place is exactly as it's name states.. healthy and yum! Blown away is how I describe our meal. My husband had a Philly cheesesteak on a gluten free bread. Every bite he'd say 'there is no way this is gluten free!'. But it was! The unfries were exactly like fries! I had chicken salad and cream of portobello mushroom soup, and it was extremely flavorful, great portions. I didn't want bread so they served it on a cute board- very cute. The staff was friendly and so attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean.. even peeking through the windows into the kitchen- clean clean clean! The prices are beyond reasonable. So I came here yesterday with my best friend Sheila. All I can say is wow. We got smoothies, lentil soup and a vegan cheeseburger. I had treated Sheila earlier in the day to the raw juice bar in downtown Waukegan. For lunch she was like I have a surprise for you. She took us to Healthyums. OMG the smoothies are much bigger. No sugar the fruit is fresh and don't even get me started on the vegan cheeseburger. You could tell that it really was organic. The flavor hit differently. The lettuce that they used wasn't romaine or iceberg . It taste like butter lettuce. The toppings from the condiments that they put on this burger was amazing. I have never tasted vegan cheese that taste this good. My kids tried the food and love it. My kids are very picky even more picky now that we are vegan. But here my kids love the food. The cookies, smoothies and everything. If your knew to becoming vegan and you need help with the options. I don't quite remember her name. But theres a nice lady with glasses that will help you and answer any questions you may have without hesitation. She made good recommendations on other things that they have here as well. I tried Healthyums for the first time today and I'm so glad I did! Healthyums is a cute little place with a great vibe, outstanding service and really delicious healthy food! I ordered the green smoothie which was cool and delicious and just the right size. I also ordered a half order of rice, chicken and veggies which was fresh and full of flavor. I just moved around this area from the city (Chicago). There are not a lot of vegan based restaurants around as I was used to. But this place is amazing!
