Some super interesting choices for pizzas and we're definitely going to plan a few more orders in the future when we've got that pizza craving! The oven roasted veggies with the garlic aioli were great. A nice variety with fingerling potatoes, heirloom carrots, and broccolini all roasted well with a right touch of seasoning. The garlic aioli was perfect, nothing else to say about it. Made for the perfect dipping sauce for the crust ends of the pizza as well! The little piggy with hot honey on top was not quite what we were expecting. That being said... it tasted straight up like a gourmet McGriddle in pizza form. Ultimately overly sweet for us but the flavors were nice, uncured bacon was excellent, and the pie crust itself was nice and had that brick oven ash to it(unsure what they're baking in at Hearth but that's what it reminds me of). Looking forward to trying the other pizza offerings, and we'll be hard pressed not to include those oven roasted veggies in all of our future orders! read more

Two stars cus my boyfriend loves the "hot mess" pizza but everyone else in my family thinks the pizza is very very lame. We all got different ones thinking it was gonna be gourmet but its so lame and disappointing and the gluten free crust is the worst i ever had and ive had so many different ones throughout the states from so many places. Seriously cant believe i payed an extra 4$ for my crust to taste like old stale pretzels. If you are filthy rich then go here but a tiny pizza for $20 that sucks is outrageous. Ive been to many places with "quality" ingredients that are at least mildly affordable. Personally i wouldn't gave 0 stars. medocre. 2nd time here. we were not planning on returning, yet family wanted to meet for lunch. the service was mediocre, in terms of attentiveness, and demeanor. we were not checked on during the meal. the beet salad ingredients were minced up so much...why not put the whole thing in a blender. yes it was good, yes the ingredients complimented each other, but like meatloaf, if its all a chopped into little pieces, its difficult for the palate to enjoy the burst of individual flavor from each ingredient. less work chop up less please. the pizza was burnt on the edges...fine in the middle..it was unmemorable. i had a pilsner....too warm. i am an american, not a german. i like my beer cold. read more

FOOD: the food was absolutely delicious. We got the beet pizza and the sweet potato pie pizza and the roasted Brussel sprouts for an app. Brussels were absolutely amazing and we scraped our bowl clean! The pizza was just as amazing. My husband finished his sweet potato pie pizza before we left! I couldn't finish my beet pizza but had it for leftovers the next day. So good. ATMOSPHERE: super cozy and the lighting makes it feel so rustic. lots of people laughing and drinking and having a great time. Very enjoyable. They won't tell you you'll pay double the advertised price - when ordered with goat cheese (which costs $8 for two logs - 21 ounces - at Costco) substituted for mozzarella. Affordable, crafty, fresh, deliciousness. Me and my husband loved this place. The ambiance is hip but chill and relaxing, with darker lighting and fresh flowers in mason jars on the table. Our waitress was so nice and service was quick. I love all the unique offerings on the menu, like pork and pears on a pizza. What a nice twist to the traditional pork and Hawaiian style pizza. They have a great bar menu with lots of craft beers on tap, wines, and cocktails. A tough decision, but we went with the beet salad and Classico pizza. I did ask for my dressing on the side and they forgot to do that, but luckily the walnut dressing was not over powering or over done. The beets on the salad were nice and tender and paired so good with the pumpkin spiced walnuts & goat cheese. I'll be dreaming about this salad later. Came in and had lunch with my son and his girlfriend. This is definitely going to be a regular place to dine at for sure. I know I will want to come sit at the bar and eat next time. The food was FABULOUS. It was busy but the vibe was still very chill. Got the blackend oysters and a cup of pozole. The oysters were amazing and nobody else at the table had eaten any before so we shared and it was mutually decided that they were delicious. Pozole was yummy with a nice mild spice. Had one mimosa, then another, then another. It had a nice light splash of orange juice. I was feeling nice and warm at this point and slightly full. We ordered a banana split to share and I rounded everything off with a latte. Wow! Everything was delicious. The pizza was really so very good. I'm super impressed. That's kinda hard to do. This was my favorite meal from our entire trip to Alaska. I loved the creative menu options and the pizza was incredible. We ordered a half beet and half Hieronymous Bosc pizza and I liked that we were able to try more than one type of pizza. We came with a large group and ordered allot of food. Usually there are highlights and lowlights to every meal. However, every single dish was on point for us. The wood oven was on fire (yea sorry for the terrible pun), and I love how Hearth used it for practically everything, not just the pizza. The wood fired veggies was one of our group favorite things! Hearth is 100% worth trying. They have lots of healthier-than-usual options and use a lot of fresh vegetables and good flavors. I think we had the farmers pie, which was pretty good. Not my favorite dish but good. The Brussels sprouts were a little bit undercooked but whatever they seasoned them with was delicious. The pozole was delicious and my favorite dish was the chocolate avocado pudding! DELICIOUS. If I never ate at Hearth again, I would have to go by for the chocolate avocado pudding. I'm not usually one to try something with that combo of ingredients and I'm GLAD I DID. So yummy. Try the pudding. read more

In my ongoing exploration of delivery services, I tried Hearth. I was excited because they seem to use a lot of Alaskan ingredients and have combinations I don't see at other pizza places. I really love the way the Holy Cow cheese pizza sounds, but being in the mood for meat I got the Spicy Vito. I requested in the "special instructions" section of the delivery app that they use the same cheese as the holy cow, sort of not expecting that they would - but they did! The salami on the pizza was excellent, it wasn't overcooked or burnt on the edges like some salami or pepperoni pizzas I've had. The spicy honey was really interesting and enhanced the flavor of the salami and peppers without being overbearing..The crust was excellent, great flavor & texture since it's made in a pizza oven, although the middle of the pizza was a bit soggy. To be fair, I live about 25 minutes away from the restaurant so some sogginess is to be expected! 4 stars just because it's a little pricy for the size of the pizzas, but it tastes great! read more

Delicious pizza. However, beware surprising surcharges. I asked for half goat cheese on a pizza, and was surcharged six dollars, then another 2 to replace that goat cheese with mozzarella. Substituting one cheese for another hardly seems worth eight dollars. I ended up here spontaneously last night, which was nice since I'd been meaning to try out this place for a while. Overall it was a nice experience, but I wasn't really wowed by it either. First of all, with how packed it was (by which I mean almost every table and every seat at the bar was taken, which was surprising for a Tuesday night) and how close together the tables were, it felt a bit claustrophobic. It was also very loud and I had a hard time hearing people sitting across from me at the table. I know some people don't mind that, or may even enjoy the lively atmosphere, but I was personally a bit overwhelmed. Beer and wine selection is great. I like how the beers on draft list is posted behind the bar like at a brewery. Good selection of classic local beers and ciders as well as some I didn't recognize. My table of four ordered a pizza with half Voodoo Child, a vegan pizza with candied jalapenos, BBQ jackfruit, and vegan mozzarella, and half Hieronymous Bosc, topped with Bosc pears, arugula, honey, caramelized onions, and walnuts. I'd never tried vegan pizza before and I was pleasantly surprised. The vegan mozzarella actually did have similar taste and texture to the real thing. The jalapenos added a nice kick. Not sure how I feel about jackfruit though. The Bosc pizza was excellent as the textures and flavors compliment each other very well. Neither of these pizzas are something I would eat regularly so I would have to have a specific craving to come in for them. My favorite part was the dessert, specifically the banana sundae. The bruleed bananas are to die for. I would have been happy eating the bananas alone, but combined with the toasted hazelnuts, blueberries, and generous serving of whipped cream, the sundae was heavenly. It was big enough to split between two people and a great end to our meal. Service was sufficient for how busy it was. Desserts took a bit longer than expected to arrive. Based on my one experience here, I could take it or leave it. I liked the food and drinks so I would be willing to try coming here again. Hopefully when it's less busy. read more

I came here to check out the gluten free pizza. Which after this visit I must vote as the best in Anchorage. My pizza was half sweet potato pie and half spicy soppressata. Both were excellent but the spicy soppressata was amazing; a bit spicy but who doesn't need some spice in their life. Can I tell you... this place not only has gluten free pizza crusts but vegan cheese... be still my beating allergy filled heart!!! I arrived in time for happy hour (daily from 4-6pm & 9pm-Close), from the happy hour menu I ordered the roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon. These were an excellent compliment to the mean and the bacon was perfect. Hearth is pretty classy but you can still wear a hoody and feel comfortable. This is a great new place for Alaskans or visitors looking for Italian style pizza. read more

I like Hearth for the local ingredients used and knowing that I'm going to get something tasty, and the outdoor seating. I dislike Hearth for the confusion at two entrances, not knowing if I seat myself, and sometimes rude staff. I have always liked the pizza for a slightly different take on pizza crust that's just different than other places around town. I really enjoy the meatballs and spaghetti squash as well. However my first time I ordered it, I remember being surprised and the waiter being extremely perplexed and saying "well that's what you ordered and that's the way it comes" when in fact I was super excited for my dish. There are two entrances. One in the front of the mall and one in the rear where there is more parking. If you go in the front, don't expect to be greeted. The hostess stand is at the rear entrance. I really like the food, but the space gets loud, and sometimes the staff aren't super friendly. read more

I can not talk Hearth up enough. I am a defector and love Hearth over Moose's Tooth/Bear Tooth! The ingredients are fresh and they have something for everyone. I feel like the menu is colorful and has great options. They always have something delicious on their "fresh sheet" (specials). And the beer! A great selection of local and craft beers on tap and they'll let you try them if you're unsure of what you want. I have always had great service here whether sitting at the bar or at a table. And it's pretty neat to see your pizza go into that beast of a pizza oven. read more

Ok, so Hearth is challenging to review because when you're a 10 min drive from Moose's Tooth and basically across the street from Bear's Tooth it hard to break that customer loyalty to your competitors. (Except... when you go to MT on a Tuesday and the parking lot is full and there are two dozen people willing to stand outside in 40 degree weather waiting for a table.) Sadly, I feel like Heart will always be my third choice and that is so unfair because it is genuinely good pizza and they offer very creative flavor combos. NOT so, awesome job Sebastian you did great. ONE ISSUE - someone in management please tell the petite server with long blondish hair that delivers food to NOT drown herself in Patchouli. (Patchouli has a strong, slightly sweet scent. It's described as having a dark, musky-earthy aroma profile, reminiscent of wet soil) - NOT appetizing at all. When she delivered our wood-roasted vegetables the first thing that came to my mind was OH no, some of these veggies are moldy!! Then I realized it was her. NO ONE, especially someone in close contact with diners should wear perfume and especially not that kind or that much. I had to hold my nose, no joke, every time she passed by. Gave Hearth another try tonight as I went in for a drink a few months ago and ordered their oysters on a whim and LOVED them! I brought my son and we ordered the charcuterie board and a pizza. Y'all. That charcuterie board was awful. Three thin slices of meat, some toast, mustard, blueberries, one hunk of cheese, and a huge handful of unsalted almonds for $14. Ridiculously overpriced and lacking. I guess I just need to stop ordering food here and stick with the beer. read more
