Oregon Alumni spot

Trivia: How many menus can you order from? (Trick question depending on the time and day). I think the best TVs to watch are the ones above the bar. The ones along the outside wall seemed harder to watch due to the large windows and bright light seeping through. Food: Lots of options. Lots of tapas. Which makes it fun when you are there for a three-hour football game. I would call it a step up from typical bar food. While there are the typical foods like wings, fries, and chicken strips, there is also pepperoni rolls and meatballs. I found myself excited to return to try some of the other items on the menu. Service: Service was limited to one bartender serving the entire restaurant for the first hour we were there. I wonder if this is because they technically opened up early for the Oregon Alumni association to watch the game? It meant that some things were forgotten or a long time coming, but everything did eventually make it to the table. Ambiance: There is a pool table and plenty of TVs to really sale the whole sports bar feel. I heard the bartender tell a couple guys that they would change the TVs, but only after the Oregon game was over. Pretty solid for the Alumni crowd. Good sound quality for the game as well.

My husband got the Alehouse Deluxe and he says it's fucking delicious.

The pizza's were amazinggg! Our server/bartender was Bryan for both times we came here. I had asked for a mixed drink with less alcohol & more sweetness in it & Bryan hit the spot with it. It's rare to find a bartender that enjoys their job & makes it with a smile. This place is a go to for Alaskans & tourists. They have pool tables & honestly great music choices.

Flattop Pizza is another bar and restaurant located in downtown and is under the same ownership of Humpy's and Williwaw. The pizza offers a crispier crust and is ok, but it's nothing to really rave about. The location itself is mostly a bar with pool tables. The service is primarily a bartender that often struggles to serve everyone that is there to eat, as they are primarily a bartender. However, during the day, especially during the week there are many that go there for lunch. You can get pizza by the slice and a decent salad, to be competitive with Uncle Joe's. At night Flattop Pizza can be busy with the downtown bar scene, people who get the munchies, and those who want to play pool. The bar has TVs, so it also serves as a sports bar. Flattop Pizza gets 3/5 stars for meh pizza and service. However it has a great location and good prices for what you get.

LOUD. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think about Flattop (the pizza place, not the mountain). I don't really mind, I like how this place seems to have an upbeat energy, even late at night...in the winter...on a weekday. I also appreciate that they are often open late and still serving food. In Anchorage, if you want to eat non-fast-food after 10pm, you're pretty much hosed. The pizza: it's alright. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing outstanding about it either. The tap selection is above average. Come here if you want to play pool or eat late.

Haley and James are the best! The dj and karaoke have made this a favorite bar of ours. Don't skip the pizzas.

I recommend the cheese sticks and the ginger beer. Great service. I would like to know what brand of ginger beer you have.

They've got a solid variety of Alaska brews on tap, way more than your average spot, so it's easy to try something new or stick with a favorite. Food is decent across the board, nothing overly fancy, but it hits the spot and pairs well with the beer. Think reliable bar food done right. Just make sure you dodge all the homeless when walking around downtown.

It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

I'm glad that they had beer flights because I was unable to decide what kind I wanted. With some assistance from the bartender I chose 4 beers and every single one of them was wonderful. I would absolutely go back if I'm ever in Anchorage again. It does get a little bit loud and it gets very crowded so be prepared to either wait, or sit at the bar. It is open seating, you check in at the host stand and they'll give you a menu and you just find a place to sit. All in all it was a wonderful time and the food was great. I don't like fish, so for me to say that, you know it was good!

The servers seemed a little new, but the service was good and friendly. They carry Frontier brand sodas which we found to be excellent for their flavor. We got root beer and ripe raspberry soda. I ordered the Chili AK Salmon Bowl which our server confirmed is wild salmon. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. Both meals were really good. I especially liked the sauce on the salmon bowl so much so that I asked for a little more only to be charged for the extra sauce. I also noticed they include a service charge on the bill (note that this was not gratuity). They told us it was to help them get seasonal labor and to cover overhead. Maybe this is an Alaska thing, but with menu prices as high as these, why would you need to add a service charge? Pricing and nickel & diming aside, I would recommend this place.
