My wife and I try to come every week, and this week we are celebrating our 9th anniversary. We absolutely love this restaurant!

After leaving a different restaurant for turning us off before we were even seated, my better half and I decided to take our Saturday date night to Hearth on 25th (our first time here). We were not disappointed! From the start, the customer service was much better than the place we just left and it only got better from there. The waitstaff was super attentive, from seating to drinks to the main event to dessert - no complaints. Started off with a great whiskey sour, which was an indicator that this place was gonna be good. The food was just great. I have a hard time passing up anything with truffles, so the truffle frites were an easy choice of appetizer. Yum! We almost passed on the bread so we wouldn't get full but thankfully opted to try it. They serve it with their house olive oil and balsamic, which at 9 out of 10 restaurants would be pretty run of the mill but they have a fantastic house-made selection. We had blood orange olive oil with dark chocolate balsamic -WOW! Heavenly. We had to restrain ourselves so we didn't get full too fast. Main courses were the special (shrimp scampi with spaghetti) for her and the elk for me. Both were very good and flavorful. Huge shrimp for her dish, making the special price seem like a deal. We almost passed on dessert, too, but thankfully we thought better of it and tried the cheesecake. It was the best course of the night - worthy of six stars. If you've had great cheesecake, you know how it can be just divine...theirs is up there. We will definitely return! read more

Everything I had was way too salty and I am a fan of salt so it really was over the top. There are so many choices in and around Ogden that I rarely go back to a place when there are issues. What an amazing find. The food top notch, the presentation is what you'd find in Paris - beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting with a hint of speakeasy sexiness. Our waitress Makenzie was superb and so friendly and very patient with us outtatowners. The incredible balsamic and olive oil bar was an inspirational. We bought an 18 month barreled bottle of fig balsalmic um wow. The cocktails were as good as something outta NYC but without the high cost. We give this place the highest rating. Terrible experience. Appetizers and salads were fine, but entrees were barely edible. Polenta dish was so unappealing to look at my wife couldn't eat it. Biggest issue was our waiter. Refused to clear dishes or pour wine. When our entrees arrived, we still had our amuse bouche, appetizer, and salad plates on our table. He did find enough energy to give him self a 20% tip however (we were a party of 3pp). I will never dine here again. read more

Sweet spot! Stopped after a long car ride and had a delicious dinner that was NOT overpriced. Great attentative wait staff that was very friendly. The atmosphere and ambience were a welcome addition. This has been a favorite restaurant for us. We go for date nights with our good friends. The menu is unique and fun. However, this time we were very disappointed. My salmon was teeny and dry, the risotto over cooked, the pork shoulder was fatty and tasteless. We would not order either again. One of the highlights has always been the bread and flavored basalmic. We had to ask for it after we were halfway through. The server just dropped it off without the beautiful presentation we usually have. In short, it was over $65 for nothing special. Sad end to a great tradition. read more

Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Had the Korean veggie pizza and it was out of this world. The kimchi was well balanced and gave just enough kick. Hearth on 25th is absolutely delicious! The charcuterie plate with meats and local made cheeses and honey was out of this world! The house made ravioli with duck breast was the best duck I've ever had-not to mention the ravioli filled with cheeses and cherries! This may be the best dish I've ever eaten. Also the blood orange and dark chocolate vinegar and olive oil served with the bread was just fantastic!! Will be recommending and returning to Hearth on 25th! Took 25 min just for the wine to come out. Ordered gluten free pasta and it came out chewy and very undercooked. Entries took nearly an hour to come out, but once I had the problem with my pasta they had a new one out in 5 min. My wife got a dish costing 20$ and left hungry. Hearth is not open for lunch. Yelp's posted hours are incorrect. They are only open for dinner starting at 5p. Came today March 23rd and stood at the host desk for 5 minutes before anyone told us they were not open for lunch. The restaurant should ensure that their posted hours are correct. read more

We were excited to try this place for dinner on 25th Street. It was not worth the price but I hope that the restaurant continues to improve somewhat. The cocktails were great. They were well made with good flavor combinations and quality ingredients. We had the stroganoff, which was good, and the buffalo chicken remolade which was not. The chicken was desiccated--in fact they looked like little hockey pucks. The potatoes and pickled vegetables were good but it didn't go completely well with the chicken. The waiter was stoic. I'm not sure if this was part of shtick for the restaurant or he was just having a bad day. For these types of prices, a smile goes a long way. The hummus trio was OK, but the chocolate hummus was awful. I want to be supportive of Ogden businesses and not go to SLC for dinner, but for these prices, Hearth on 25th needs to up its game. read more

Was in Ogden for business. I wanted a nice dinner in a calm setting. This place fit the bill. Arrived about 7 pm, was greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress , her name was Roxanne I believe, was one of the best anywhere I've been, and I have traveled extensively this year. She described the menu items enthusiastically, plus she was not afraid to suggest foods and help me to decide what to order. One of my personal pet peeves are wait staff who refuse to give an opinion or suggestion to a customer. Sure, we all have different tastes, but come on take a stand! Don't be afraid to try. Ordered rabbit, my wife ordered salmon. Also got the strawberry salad. Everything was presented and prepared wonderfully except for one item, the black beans wth the rabbit were very salty to my taste. If not not for the beans I would go 5 stars. So disappointed. Very few patrons dining inside and they kept sitting us and others on the extremely hot balcony. We had been looking forward to dining here for weeks. The service was awful. Sitting in the heat and we rarely saw our server and our water cups empty most of the meal. We ordered the tasting menu expecting great food and the kids meal was better. The server didn't say that the tasting menu was all small dishes not worth the $55. When we asked about the tasting menu the server literally pointed to the regular priced items on the menu making it sound like we would be getting a really good deal which it definitely is not worth the price. The food... the Salmon was good. The pork was awful and super dry, it also didn't taste like there was any maple balsamic on it. The duck was cooked well done, since duck is best served medium rare it was very disappointing, the skin was super crispy but too salty, honestly my kid cooked better duck at 16. The sauce was good but overall the dish would be a hard pass next time. The surf and turf was small. 3 shrimp and 4 ounces of steak. The steak was tender but lacked flavor and overall we eat better steak at home. Desserts the panna cotta was nasty, normally we love panna cotta, but this tasted like curdled milk mixed with honey. The mixed berry tart was good but kind of tasted like a pop tart filing. For the prices charged and all tha balsamic in the front, I was expecting good food. We walked out after 2 hours overheated and unsatisfied. Not even a hit of an apology over the service and not coming back to our table for 30 minutes. read more

Atmosphere is good. Staff is excellent. I wouldn't really classify as romantic or swank. There were a lot of families there. We had the Charcuterie to start which is a collection of meats and cheese. Pork Shoulder and Safron Salmon. And Tiramisu for dessert. We brought in our own wine with a corking fee of $12 I believe. Their wine menu was 25$ and up with a lot in the $40-50 range off the menu. When I go out to eat at a place, If the pricing out ways the tasty. They get a negative review. At these prices, you are better off driving to Salt Lake, and eating at an equally priced restaurant. We've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. Finally went after the First Friday Art Stroll and couldn't have asked for a better end to a lovely date night. We loved the idea of a seasonal menu, and the options were all tantalizing. My doctor has recommended I try a wheat free period, and our server accommodated that with sesame and flax sees crackers and vegetables to go with the blood orange and chocolate balsamic vinegar. I give them 5 stars because they serve yak. Subtract 1.5 because it was way too salty. Subtract .5 for serving my Porter in a frosted mug but give them a star back for the view (yes, it is more buildings than mountains bit still pretty cool).
