It's been a very long time since I've seen this course. From my experience the putting was the toughest for me as the lines are a bit more challenging than other courses. Also love that this is a 18 hole vs others that's around the way being 9 holes. Pretty speedy for Saturday where golfers have pace also which is always a plus. read more

Overbooked, 2 and 3 foursomes backed up at each hole. Not enough electric golf carts. Tee boxes are bare, uneven. Fairway and around some greens are muddy. The course bathrooms are locked and if you get within 5 feet, you can smell feces. It's been 10 years since the water fountain seen water! A beautiful shade tree stands east of the clubhouse, and it's used to store the mats from the driving range. I lived for 25 years right across the street on Conquesta. Heartwell Golf Course is my favorite course for so many reasons. One, they have a bomb chicken fried steak breakfast with all the fixings for a damn good price. Second, this was my first 18 hole course I ever played and third, I hit my first birdie at this course! I don't even care if I sound corny, this place will always hold a special place in my heart. It's a 3 par course with two water areas you have to hit over. Not a hard course, but great for if you want to stop by after work and clear your head and work on your swing. read more

Here's an updated review: The course is really shaping up due to the efforts of the management, staff and ambassadors that are really caring for the grounds and facilities. The greens are in good condition. The tee boxes have recently been reseeded and are also quite good now. Brand new, fluffy sand has been added to the bunkers. The course is open for night golf, and all the lights are working. Nice practice putting and chipping areas. The lakes with fountains are expected to be restored to these beautiful grounds shortly. Reasonably priced. Usually can be played in about 2 hours. Carts available. read more

Awesome course, i really appreciate hitting off grass at every hole versus having to hit off turf matts at some other par 3 courses. Fun course with some water challenges you gotta watch out for so its a challenge for beginners & amateurs. Youll enjoy laughing at that one friend that tops their ball into the water! The greens arent easy but putting wont leave you too frustrated. Staff is always friendly and cool, nice big open putting green to warm up in. I would recommend playing here if youve never been here before for the great course & the price is great too. read more

We are beginners and had fun on the 3 par golf course. It is challenging with sand bunkers and a couple of water obstacles and longest hole is around 140 yards I believe. If you hit errant shots into the rough the grass can get pretty long and difficult to get out of. The driving range is hit/miss as it can get pretty crowded at times but also closed for various reasons. We like to get the Players club which gets you a bucket a day but we can also use El Dorado driving range if closed/crowded. Great course though to learn to play or to work on your short game. read more

Played night golf with a 6:30 Tee Time. This course would be amazing for beginners if they took care of it. I'm a beginner that hits lots of shots to the right, resulting in lots of hits into the rough. The rough is extremely thick and way too difficult to get out of. I didn't play well and shot a 104, which I believe would've been closer to 90 if the rough wasn't so bad. A lot of the holes aren't super well lit, meaning that if you don't hit the ball straight, you probably wont find it. Also, don't pay the $10 for the cart. Just walk the course. Driving range is 3 stars and the golf course is 5 stars. The range balls are old and almost always dirty, so the balls don't fly very well 1/3 of the times especially if you are hitting longer clubs, but the range is big and long. The par 3 course is really fun, great for all ages and all skill levels. The greens are always a little bumpy but is understandable because it's a public course. Definitely recommended but I would check the tee times and make sure it's not busy when going cus it could be slow out there~ read more

Heartwell is good track. For the price point, it serves its purpose. Service is usually great unless the holder woman is working. She's often crabby. Ms. Alonda in the cafe is super sweet. Nice little Par-3 golf course and driving range. Very playable course for beginners and intermediate players...golfers of any skill level can get some practice on their short game here. Mostly well kept greens and rough areas, quite a few flooded areas at the moment and a recent auto accident that crushed the fence along Carson street has left some debris and maintenance to be done. But aside from these temporary blemishes, Heartwell plays like is should, a nice little affordable neighborhood short course with a driving range and cafe to boot. read more

I love playing this course don't get me wrong. It's fairly kept up, some tee boxes are pretty bad while others are good. If you play this course at night the lights are OKAY. Some holes are much better than others. Although I do enjoy this course. I have to write this review because me and my friend got an early round in yesterday. After our round we got a burger from the club house and we forsure got food poisoning from it. I'm a younger healthy guy but whatever I got from the burger absolutely took me AND my friend out. read more

DRIVING RANGE REVIEW All I have to say is that Heartwell's driving range, in my opinion, ranks pretty much up there compared to the other driving ranges I've practiced at. Check the days, some days you can hit from the grass, while the other days you have the new mats. Love driving ranges that have the natural grass! Range balls are SUPER NEW! $6 for a medium bucket. New mats, they also provide tees 2 1/4 to 3+ inch tees too! The range (at times) can be crowded but you'll always be able to find a spot. Nice putting green. read more

It was my first time ever on a golf course and while I struggled at the beginning, I got better as we played through each hole and got more comfortable. This place was fun and the staff that I encountered were super nice. Again, having not been to another course my opinion may be a little uninformed, but one thing I could tell is that this course is tiny. The holes are all fairly straight shots onto the green (at least the front 9 are) but that's not a bad thing. For a super high handicap beginner like myself, the lack of yardage and complexity is welcome. The course is also really informal. I came dressed for the game but saw people playing in jeans and flip flops. Once again, not a negative as this course serves a particular niche. If you want to play a gentlemanly, real course go elsewhere. But don't judge this course on something it's not trying to be because that's unfair. The one issue I had is the cart policy. After 5:30 they don't give out carts anymore which was a bit of a bummer. We only played 9 but if we were playing 18 it'd be more pleasant to be able to cruise around which would speed up our rate of play as we're chasing daylight. The reasoning is because they can't keep track of them presumably due to the office closing prior to the course closing. Two solutions present themselves: keep the office open until the course closes, OR, have a key drop somewhere on the course where you have to exchange your car keys/wallet/phone to get a cart key and will only get one of those back whence their cart key is returned. It's not a huge issue that we didn't have a cart since the acreage isn't huge but it'd be a nice option to have, especially for twilight players who are older and less mobile. I'll be back often since it's cheap, close, and friendly to practice my shots on. Cheers! read more

I'm almost hesitant to post this review because it reveals the best life hack ever. Reserving a tee time on Golfnow.com for the day after Cinco de Drinko has been one of the best decisions I made in 2018! Heartwell Golf Course? More like Heartwell Ghost Town. The course AND driving range were pretty much dead just before noon on Sunday. It was an amazing day for our group of 4 to enjoy a round of 18. Literally checked in and tee'd off, no waiting for golfers ahead of us, and zero groups behind us. Heck yes my kind of Sunday Funday! My only critique is the cause for safety concern. This course is an accident and lawsuit waiting to happen. The holes are so close together you'll hear "FORE" more often than not, if it is shouted at all. I get it, trees do block your visuals on the ball but IF IN DOUBT AND PEOPLE ARE IN THAT GENERAL AREA YELL FORE. Better to to err on the side of caution. The layout of the course puts tee boxes near greens and for newbie golfers that's a hazard in itself lol there aren't any protective barriers here. Yesterday an adult male's tee off shot from the first hole nearly smacked me in the face. His friends apologized and said it was his first time ever playing golf...Driving. Range. For. The course is a good par 3. The range bucket always seems to be broken and it always short changes you. However the main reason I am rating this low is because of the staff. They are pretty rude and just complain. I've heard several times that they need more funding to fix equipment. As if it takes any funding to be professional, polite and update your voice mails. I've called about 15 times in the past and not one person has ever answered me. They don't really update their schedules so you won't know if they're closed on a random day. I can't say this about every employee there because some have been very very kind and very helpful. But I came across one employee friday night and he was clearly being lazy and didn't want to come to any compromise with me. I've been coming past 9PM every single day besides mondays because that's the time I get off work. Never had an issue getting my range balls. I get there friday night (March 4th) with a couple of friends and the man who was covering the pro shop said I needed to leave and he won't be giving any range balls. I told him if I don't finish by 10 you can shut off the lights and i'll leave. But nope... just proceed to tell me to leave when there was still 45-50 minutes of operation. Keep in mind i'm also part of the Players Club. This is some way to treat someone with the membership !!! You guys need to check who was working that night and keep that employee in CHECK! Let talk about ruining Father's Day for an entire family! So I made a reservation online through the players club and upon arrival they start by telling me that they only honor that price after 12. Whatever it's petty but it should still be told in advance. We drove an hour and a half to golf at their course because I was trying to make Father's Day wonderful for my guy and our kids. We all golf and this was going to be a wonderful day planned for well over a week in advance. Boy was I wrong So aside from the price issue they also informed us that players club only works in your city even though players club tells you that you can go anywhere in the country that's a part of their club. So onto the next issue, my reservation was for 5 people and golf carts. Sure enough they inform us that if we want a cart we will have to wait and the wait list is very long but we are welcome to walk the 18 hole course (with 3 kids). I understand that it is a holiday but you know what supplies you have available don't over book!!!!!! It's not hard to give carts to those with reservations and let others know that they can use hand carts or walk since they didn't reserve a cart in advance. All in all this place is a joke. I will never refer anyone here. The fact that they refused to honor my reservation for 5 people with 2 carts just shows that they only want your money. read more

This is for the cafe. We've been quite a few times before but this time was horrible. The food took over an hour to get, mind you this is breakfast so we didn't get anything complicated. We got oatmeal, a breakfast burrito, and two omelettes. The place was maybe 1/3 full so they weren't busy. It was super dirty, from the chairs, tables, to the creamer holders. Once we got our food it was also unpleasant. None of the veggies were cooked for the burrito or the omelette. There was a broken plastic fork piece in our water, and last but certainly not least, a spider crawled out of my dads omelette (we brought it come to him) and was probably in the to go container but still. read more

Playing here at night is horrible since some of the lights are not working and trees are not trimmed and covering the lights especially hole 13th where the green is completely dark. Pls maintain your course change lightbulbs and trim those darn trees. Make the evening games more enjoyable and don't turn off the lights until 10 since you supposed to open until 10pm!!! Fun little Par 3 course to work on your short game. They average 80-125 yards. Some of the cart path areas are in pretty bad shape, lots of pot holes in the dirt. However, they open the driving range and course at 6am and everything has pretty good lighting. Great for anyone who wants to get in then out. read more

I love this course and I've been coming here for years but what disappointed me yesterday was that they're not very strong with their rules. Yesterday their driving range was supposed to be closed for some urgent repair. But that didn't stop the local coaches from taking the last four or five mats coaching their students to make money this is patently unfair and quite unlike a municipal course. This seems like a small golf course. However it is quite large. I like the instructor Mr. Phil that teaches my daughter how to golf. He's very patient with children. They're busy all the time but they have plenty of spaces in the driving range. I missed a group classes they used to have for the kids. Now they're all private individual classes. read more

Yup, the restaurant if definitely a hidden gem. I've driven by for 25 years and never noticed it. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food was great and the view was beautiful. I didn't want to post about this place to keep it "hidden", but it deserves the 5 star review. read more
