As a AAA member for 12 years and an insurance policy holder half as long, I was not expecting a AAA associate to refuse to process the DMV registration on a AAA insured vehicle. Reading this one might think that I left the Smog Certification at home, or I brought the wrong form of payment. Nope, the Associate claimed a company policy that does not exist. I was not allowed to pay for the registration because my maiden name was on the registration document and my drivers license and credit card are in my married name. I even provided the associate with an old ID to show the name change, and she refused to complete the transaction. I explained that I had paid with the same card, at the same location on three other occasions. Her response was, "It isn't my responsibility, if my co-workers don't take their job seriously." I opened my AAA membership and insurance policy at this location, and the insurance agent had no issues with me insuring a car that has my maiden name on the registration, while setting up the policy in my married name. I will not return to this location.
