As someone who values and supports small businesses--especially in our post-pandemic community--I was disappointed by the lack of compassion and clarity in how this was handled. I understand and respect a business owner's right to set policies, but when those expectations are not clearly communicated to all guests, enforcement can feel abrupt and personal. Small businesses often pride themselves on community, warmth, and care. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I had here. They responded back quickly and let me know that they would be happy to oblige, even though they said they'd never done a design with donut holes before. We exchanged info, including details and prices, and they let me know upfront what they could and couldn't do, but also offered alternatives. I truly appreciate their clear and quick communication with me. I emailed them on Wednesday for a pick-up on Friday afternoon. Let me say, they did not disappoint! I was absolutely delighted with how my order turned out (see photo), and my coworkers were so impressed, too! I am so happy that I could entrust my custom order with them, they truly went above and beyond to make it happen. They even made it so that the entire order could fit into one custom-made donut box! But baby needed her butt cleaned. So I went into grocery store, changed her diaper. Went back to car, loaded her up and went back while husband shopped. Boss came out and immediately asked for name on order I said it and started explaining what happened and went to say but I get if not. She immediately went 'Its been an hour!" I told her it took 40 minutes to get 2 drinks with no one in front of us! I had to reload baby up etc. She started saying we needed to come in right away etc. But we did as fast as we could. Wouldn't even let me get a word in about just paying for another drink. Lecturing me on how the lids fit tightly... its why I came back. Its why I pointed out the peppermint. Mistakes happened. The building is so small that even tho they have a menu board before you get to the window, there's no speaker to place your order until you pull up to the window. They have a nice variety of coffees, specialty coffees, iced or blended coffees, teas, and energy drinks. Today we tried the Peanut Butter Mocha and the Java Chip Classic, both blended. I got an extra scoop of peanut butter in my drink and I LOVED it! I brought the Java Chip Classic and a turkey and cheese croissant home for my daughter and she really enjoyed both as well. The workers were very upbeat and friendly. And considering that they couldn't start my order until I pulled up, it did come up quickly and accurately. There are two sides to the drive-thru so it makes no difference which way you enter. I came here while in the area and needed an iced coffee on a hot day. I had second thoughts about coming here while waiting in line. There were only two cars in front of me yet it took me 13 minutes to get to the window. You both order and pay at the window but a menu is conveniently located when you are in the position as the next car to order. I ordered a blended peanut butter mocha coffee. It took less than 3 minutes to have it in hand. Peanut butter. Chocolate. Coffee. All three flavors were there although the peanut butter was more prevalent. With whipped cream on top it was more like a shake than coffee. I quite enjoyed it. While the wait time is a gamble as you may get stuck behind the person ordering for half the neighborhood, I'm willing to take the gamble next time I'm in the area because what they make is delicious.
