Wow! What great food! What great service! We were staying at the Hampton Inn. Nothing remotely close to this hotel to dine in. We traveled 8 hours from Oregon and tired. We yelped and found Hector's 1.6 miles close and so happy we did! Hector's adult son, Omar, greeted us with a smile. We just wanted carry out, he was concerned that we'd have to wait for 20 minutes. He convinced us to sit down and he would serve us our salad (a split) while we waited for the carry-out with 2 cold glasses of ice water. A huge beautiful garden salad was delivered to our table with two dressings, Ranch and the best Balsamic Vinaigrette I've ever had! Omar told us that the scrumptious little micro croutons upon the salad they hand make and bake every day for their salads. The tomatoes, the cucumbers, everything was super fresh, super crunchy, super tasty. Wow! Lucky us! Many selections for pizza and Omar would make it any way we wanted. We ordered the chicken barbecue pizza, we added tomatoes, and half of it with red onions. We took it to the hotel and Omar, without asking, gave us plates, plastic utensils, parmesan cheese and red peppers flakes to go. Let's not mention the two pieces of candy, and napkins to boot. Did I mention that it was a small pizza, but he decided to make it a little bit bigger? Their small is like a medium elsewhere! My husband and I loved this pizza. It was hot, every ingredient that was fresh, the crust was absolutely unbelievable, and we loved it! It was a sourdough with a lovely firm crispy texture crust. If we ever come this way again, we are going back and we are going to stay next time and eat the entire dinner in their very cute, intimate restaurant. They had a wonderful display of different wines and very good solid pours, from what I could see going on! Omar is a joy! This restaurant is a joy! The food is made with love.

Not much to say except for pizza was mediocre. I was excited to eat here since I tried it once before a few years ago and it was really good. However, this time around was nothing special. Cashier wasn't very friendly and my pizza wasn't piping hot like I like it to be. Our salad was good, a little soggy since they put the dressing on it for you. The inside seemed clean and even though it's a little small, there is a decent amount of seating. Might check them out again in the future in hopes to update my review.

Went here last Sunday. We were coming home from Russian River and we were looking for a pizza spot. We are unfamiliar with Petaluma, but after looking at several spots online and reading reviews, I decided to give this one a shot. So glad I did!! Everything was fantastic!! We ordered two pizzas and both were cooked perfectly. Nice crisp to it but not overcooked. Very balanced ingredients which I appreciate so much. I hate it when a pizza has too much of one thing like cheese or sauce. If a person wants extra on something they can ask for it. This place does it right! The sourdough crust is also quite delicious. We ordered the Gorgonzola salad and that was also wonderful. I loved how they sliced the tomatoes nice and thin. I mean what's up with restaurants that give you quarter wedges of tomatoes? I despise that. Nobody should be doing that unless you are maybe ordering a tomato salad. But even a tomato salad should have bite-size pieces of tomatoes. The balsamic vinaigrette that came with this salad was lovely. The restaurant itself was small but clean. We did notice there was a cute little patio area outside. It had a few tables as well as a water fountain and actual grape vines! I loved the plates they give you to eat with. Adorable. I also loved how the kitchen staff were all cleanly dressed in yellow shirts and kitchen pants. Lookin sharp! All these little touches made the restaurant so charming. I only feel sad this restaurant is a bit far away from us because this is the exact type of spot that we would be regulars at. The good news is that Petaluma is on our way home when we visit the River. So there will be more opportunities. Thank you again so much for the wonderful food and hospitality. Bravo

highly recommend this local pizza spot in petaluma if you're in the area!! we got a box of combination pizza right before closing and the staff were very friendly. the pizza was also the best combo pizza i've had in a while! i intended to eat 1-2 slices and we ended up killing the box in one sitting. would definitely come back for more :)

Good things come to those who wait certainly applies to Hector pizza. From ordering to picking it up, it did take more than an hour. But, we were rewarded with two very good tasting pizzas. We got a Tuscany special and an Italian country pizza. Both were delicious and not dissapointed. Tasted the fresh ingredients in a delicious crispy sourdough thin crust; albeit a little burnt on the edge of the crust. The Tuscany special had a nice kick from the spicy sausage and a fresh pico de gallo topping. The chunks of mozzarella cheese and the bacon bits on the Italian countey were unbelievably good. Found out that they offered free delivery for any $20+ order. read more

We ordered pizza delivery for a large group last weekend. We'd tried many other local pizza places and had read many positive reviews of Hector's on Facebook. The pizza was delicious (especially the crust) and it was delivered on time. It made the party so easy!! From now on, Hector's is our go to pizza place. read more

Hector's is a local gem and a bit of a secret tucked away in the burbs of Petaluma. The staff is always warm and friendly. We've always done take-out, but their dining area seems inviting. They have an amazing array of specialty pizzas. My absolute favorite pizza is Pizza Sonoma, which happens to be vegetarian. It's an eclectic combination of marinated artichokes hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, halved seedless Thompson grapes, and sliced red onions. It might be interesting to add pepperoni or chicken. Try Hector's, you won't be sorry! read more

This is the best pizza in Petaluma, hands down. The combination of sourdough crust, fresh ingredients and interesting options make Hector's our go-to pizza place. Last pizza we tried was the Mumbai Chicken Curry pizza, which is the best curry pizza outside of the South Bay. Also tried the Mexican pizza which has a nice balance of fresh/cooked flavors and a decent about of spice. Everything is great at Hector's... even the kids' cheese pizzas are delicious! read more

So glad I moved nearby. This is the best pizza in town. I just moved up here from SF and one of the first things I did was look for a go-to pizza spot, and Hector's is definitely the one. It's very a very unique style but super tasty. Better than a lot of places in the city to be honest. Order the #15 and enjoy delicious pizza! read more

Usually I love sharing pictures of food on here, but I guess when it comes to Hector's pizza I'm too excited to start eating that I haven't taken a single picture of their amazing pies! It's my absolute favorite pizza in town. The crispy crust has the perfect chew. And the generous toppings always taste so fresh and delicious. The combination supreme is my go-to but the menu has a wide variety with some unique topping mixes. read more

Pizza is good very pricey im used to a large for around 29$ with two toppings from petrillos in san gabriel not 20$ for a small! With one topping.. they dont list their prices anywhere in the place or on line or the menu! Its like a asian liquor store in los angeles no prices on anything just size up the customer and make up a price i guess.. read more

Stopped here on our way home from camping at Gualala. The pizza was delicious and customer service was amazing! We ordered four pizzas. Cheese, pesto chicken, Hawaiian, and Mexican pizza. Thoroughly impressed with this place. Now, this was my first time at "Hector's" but I used to order from this location when he was running the old Red Boy franchise. When the newer RB opened it definitely was NOT the same quality. The pizza's here are a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it. I was recommended to try it from a friend and again by a co-worker who stopped here on a whim one time and loved their pizza. Their Sourdough crust is definitely one of the things they were both raving about and I remember it was very good when Hector ran his previous restaurant. I decided to treat myself to a pizza and garlic bread with cheese. They have. A LOT of different pizzas to choose from so it took me a bit to read through the menu online. I decided on ordering a Medium, half Chicken Alla King and half Meat Lovers. First thing I noticed was friendly customer service over the phone, without naming other places--I just don't get that vibe much anymore. Put it my order and 45 minutes later went in to pick it up. When I pulled in there was a group exiting and I overheard them talking with eachother on how good their meal was so that validated I made a good choice for dinner that night. You can plainly see in the photos that they load these up with quality toppings. The pizza has some weight to it! I can normally devour a medium pizza from anywhere no problem but I could only eat half before I was full. In fact, I just reheated the other half now in my oven at work and thought I'd write this out now while it is cooling off. I already can't wait to place my next order, Hector's is now one of my top choices for local pizza. read more

Delicious. Best pizza in Petaluma. The highlight of their pizzas is undoubtedly the generous toppings. One aspect I particularly appreciated was that the pizza wasn't overly salty. Often, pizzas can be a bit too salty, overwhelming the other flavors, but that wasn't the case here. The balance of flavors was spot on. Highly recommended! read more

We love this place. Working the way through the entire menu lol. It is a bit pricey, but the ingredients are quality. The first time they handed me a small pizza I was shocked at the weight, so I peeked and wow they don't skimp on toppings. I've always called in my order ahead of time and taken it to go. I went here today. The place is beautiful with an amazingly cozy atmosphere. The inside looks right at home with good lighting, good music, and a beautiful outside patio. The service is great because the employees are honest, kind, and friendly. The food is out of this world. The pizza's crust perfect, amazing pizza sauce, amazing gooey cheese, and great toppings. This is a place that made me almost tear up from pure joy. I would recommend this place. read more

What an amazing family. We went in a Friday night. No wait. Everything tastes super fresh and delicious. We had the Cesar salad, brussetta and Hawaiian pizza. Everything was perfect. And the Cesar dressing was delicious. I'm Kind of picky about my Cesar dressing. And to boot, the owner came out multiple times to talk to us and check in on us. We will definitely be back again. What a hidden gem. read more

My chicken was a little too close to burnt for my liking. The burnt taste on the breading really took away from the other flavors. It could've used some more seasoning as well. I did enjoy the veggies and mashed potatoes which were both fresh!

The carpaccio was good, it is my favorite to order, but I prefer a stronger lemon & some mustard with mine and again a stronger olive oil flavor. My favorite item was the panna cotta. The presentation is beautiful & the slight taste of lavender(not medicinal at all) with the honey and berry syrup and scattered fruit with pistachio on top was superb. We went with the bruschetta trio (the winner of the entire meal) and chose the traditional, the prosciutto and the salmon of which the traditional was the favorite. The entrees were ok. I went with the chicken piccata which was not prepared in the traditional manner of pan-frying the chicken; I'm guessing by its white anemic color it was maybe poached separately first before being added to the piccata sauce. The sauce was missing the acidity of white wine and lemon (although I'm sure they were in there) and even the capers couldn't help punch up the flavor. Between the underwhelming seasoning/flavor and the chicken missing that crispy exterior the dish just didn't deliver. My partner's salmon pasta Alfredo was also just ok, again it could have used more seasoning and the sauce was so watery it was impossible to get it to coat the fish and the pasta. I can see why a lot people enjoy Sugo - the food is good enough relative to the very reasonable menu prices and the staff is great; just know that at least some of the dishes deviate from the traditional preparations. Next time I'd stick with the bruschetta and add a salad to round out the meal.

It was incredible and an absolute game changer. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and every bite was worth it. They were delicious but the serving was pretty small. What seemed odd to us was that the potatoes that were served as a side with the hamburgers were not the same as what was served as the starter. The starter was clearly made from fresh cut porates and were well seasoned. the potatoes with the entree seemed like run of the mill food service fries. The beet salad and entrees were also very tasty. however, we asked for the mustard aioli on the side with the hamburgers but that's not what we got. For dessert we ordered the milk chocolate mousse and the crème boule. They were okay but nothing extraordinary . Wow! what a find... I was skeptical at first to go in and try it out... I don't know if its the name or what-- but we were very pleasantly surprised! this pizza is crazy good... the pizza is hand tossed, made to order- I love the texture of a good pizza crust- it crisp on the edges, airy, never soggy... they hit the nail on the head. We love the modern style toppings- they also have a several vegetarian combinations that are really good- they are also more service-oriented and accommodating than I expected them to be.
