Good things come to those who wait certainly applies to Hector pizza. From ordering to picking it up, it did take more than an hour. But, we were rewarded with two very good tasting pizzas. We got a Tuscany special and an Italian country pizza. Both were delicious and not dissapointed. Tasted the fresh ingredients in a delicious crispy sourdough thin crust; albeit a little burnt on the edge of the crust. The Tuscany special had a nice kick from the spicy sausage and a fresh pico de gallo topping. The chunks of mozzarella cheese and the bacon bits on the Italian countey were unbelievably good. Ordered a pepperoni pizza & a green salad. It was so good! The pizza was not too saucy, not too greasy, and the crust was very delicious. I really enjoyed their ranch dressing. Hector's is a local gem and a bit of a secret tucked away in the burbs of Petaluma. The staff is always warm and friendly. We've always done take-out, but their dining area seems inviting. They have an amazing array of specialty pizzas. My absolute favorite pizza is Pizza Sonoma, which happens to be vegetarian. It's an eclectic combination of marinated artichokes hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, halved seedless Thompson grapes, and sliced red onions. It might be interesting to add pepperoni or chicken. Pizza is good very pricey im used to a large for around 29$ with two toppings from petrillos in san gabriel not 20$ for a small! With one topping.. they dont list their prices anywhere in the place or on line or the menu! Thoroughly impressed with this place. Now, this was my first time at "Hector's" but I used to order from this location when he was running the old Red Boy franchise. When the newer RB opened it definitely was NOT the same quality. The pizza's here are a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it. I was recommended to try it from a friend and again by a co-worker who stopped here on a whim one time and loved their pizza. Their Sourdough crust is definitely one of the things they were both raving about and I remember it was very good when Hector ran his previous restaurant. I decided to treat myself to a pizza and garlic bread with cheese. They have. A LOT of different pizzas to choose from so it took me a bit to read through the menu online. I decided on ordering a Medium, half Chicken Alla King and half Meat Lovers. First thing I noticed was friendly customer service over the phone, without naming other places--I just don't get that vibe much anymore. Put it my order and 45 minutes later went in to pick it up. When I pulled in there was a group exiting and I overheard them talking with eachother on how good their meal was so that validated I made a good choice for dinner that night. You can plainly see in the photos that they load these up with quality toppings. The pizza has some weight to it! I can normally devour a medium pizza from anywhere no problem but I could only eat half before I was full. In fact, I just reheated the other half now in my oven at work and thought I'd write this out now while it is cooling off.
